Im not ready to buy a capture card yet im using a vcr and a digital camerea to record halo games does any one one a free media converter that I can download that wont leave a water mark on screen or at least one where the water mark wont be in the center?

You can use FRAPs from fraps.com. It is a screen capture program that is made specificaly for recording gameing footage. You will need a pretty good machine, though, if you don't want to take a hit to your FPS. It leaves a watermark but it is small and is at the top of the video. I don't even notice it.

without registering you can only do 30 seconds of video tho :(

30 secs is a long time. Hardly ever do you have a battle last 30 secs. Plus that keeps the file size low. A 30 sec fraps clip is around 200MB.

He's talking about a program that can convert VCR and such to usable AVI/MPEG videos.

From what I know, no, they usually come with the capture device, the encoding software, but a few google searches couldn't do any harm.
