The squad is about to be overun by covenant forces when out of nowhere Sev comes and saves the day!

Always wondered where that ballsy Clone Commando ended up.

and how!

I think the ending sequence will be a large scale battle, possibly involving a Scarab [though unlikely, it would be EFFING AMAZING!]

The game probably does end with a vehicle race but this one will be different. It will be a race to lock-on to Master Chief with that laser designator thing in Halo Landfall as he enters the atmosphere at the beginning of Halo 3. Followed by something unknown.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

I really like the "Landfall" Idea. But the strange part about it, is that it takes place during the day. From an ODST perspective it would be fine, the sun has gone up, and the Rookie has found his team, which btw will be the first time you get to fight alongside with.
But Chief, he falls during the night a couple of weeks later (?!).

The last thing the Rookie does before the game ends; kill a brute chieftain with a rocktlauncher.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

I swear to God... If the last level is another "Get in a vehicle and drive somewhere while -blam!- blows up" I will be pissed.
I like stuff like that.

I think it will en with your squad reuniting, then being assaulted by a massive Covenant force, with your allies slowly dying off until you are left, then it ends with your characters vision going out after being shot up.

That, or the Orbital elevator falls and crushes your team.

A much, much cooler ending in my opinion would be The Rookie being the only survivor of a major conflict, when you see an Elite Carrier fly overhead and drop of Elites to rescue you. The Rookie gets shot and falls to his knees, an Elite Zealot then picks him up and looks at him saying,

"He is no Demon, but has shown a ferocity unknown to his kind.We will be honored to have your aid in this battle!."

The elite then helps you up and the game ends with you killing off most of the covenant alongside the group of Elites, then being rescued by them when the Flood arrive. ZYou then get to see MC's cameo as while in the Shadow of Intent you glimpse him walking to the command room.

The funny part is I played that yesterday afternoon. Also, ODST can not end with the beginning of Halo 3 or during Landfall as they take palce a month after the events of ODST.

Maybe ODST takes place over a long period of time?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I doubt it will happen, but it would be a cool way of introducing the multi-player, if at the end of the last level you are hunkered down with your fellow marines being assaulted by waves of Covenant soldiers in a massive firefight. (See what I did there?) The game ends when you've survived the last wave, and a dropship comes to pick you up.

why are you looking at this?

You have to fight a giant fire-breathing turtle with a spiked shell weilding a gravity hammer.

bowser (sp?) makes an appearance? i thought he was already tired from mario kicking his ass...

Just as every cop is a criminal,
And all the sinners saints,
As heads is tails, just call me lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint.

Bow chicka honk honk.

The covenant are preparing to bombard New Mombasa from orbit. Your reassembled squad is aboard a pelican, heading for the crows nest rally point. But wait! Your support hornet is hit by an AA wraith! The squad lands, and the Rookie rushes through swarming covenant to drag the pilot to the pelican. They lift off, but are too close to the blast when the bombardment begins.

Some time later the Rookie, battered and dying, crawls out of the wrecked transport, takes a few stumbling steps, and falls over dead.

((I'm sorry, I had to.))

Your friend is not a reliable source of information

the last paragraph should definitely be included as a hidden ending or something

  • 06.30.2009 6:41 PM PDT

Yea halos do tend to end in a Micheal bay fashion

Do not send me group invites I will NOT accept them.
TRIPLE SE7EN PWNAGE

I hope it is another epic drive away from an explosion ending, just that I wish it was as hard as it was in Halo CE when you actually had a time limit in which you could escape.

If it is like it was in Halo 2 where you had some stupid boss battle with a guy that only Johnson could kill I will be disappointed for that is not how a Halo game is supposed to end.

EDIT: Fixed a typo...

Amen! those endings are getting quite annoying these days. I want to play and see an original idea.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

the oni building is falling, you are running down the stairs to the bottom floor to escape. but a brute gets through and tries stops you. you pull out your automag and put a few bullets into him. he goes down. a jakal attempts to snipe you. he misses. romeo walks up be hind you. he tells you to get down. he says, "hey jakal, here's a welcome gift" and shoots the jakal and it falls and hits a heater. it causes the building to start burning as well with the falling. in order to get out, mickey shoots a hole through the wall with the rockets. dutch sees a banshee and takes it out with his laser. you jump out. you land on an escaping phantom. you burn a hole through the top. you jump down. you kill all the brutes, jakals, grunts, and elites inside. then you take the controls. your squad lands the phantom. dare calls in a pelican. the oni building falls just as the pelican arrives. the pelican extracts your squad. credits start

The only way I could accept another, drive while stuff blows up escape, is if we were driving a pelican.

But NM is obviously going to be destroyed, and we will have to escape. Remember when Miranda says "The ruins of New Mombasa"? I bet that we have something to do with that.

A slow motion walk away from the exploding city would be badass. Remember, cool guys dont look at explosions.

Does anyone even look at these?

Holy -blam!-, does it fly? I had a dream about me playing as an ODST fighting a giant fire-breathing turtle.
