Subject: Why not implement mulitplayer options in single player?

I think we all know that Halo 3's multiplayer is just about the most customizable thing in terms of amount of gametypes and whatnot.

So I was thinking about how Reach's single player could be more replayable and I thought about if you could select the options from multiplayer and apply them to single player.

For example, you could pick your starting weapon, whether weapon pick up is okay or not, infinite ammo, run speed, gravity, damage, etc. Me thinks it'd be a good idea. Now of course, some things wouldn't work, for example no use of vehicles as sometimes you have to use a banshee, hornet, or whatever, but overall, it seems like a good idea. So that people don't just cheat through it though, I do think these options should be locked until after you beat the game once through. And of course, this opens the possibility for very neat achievements. For example, one called "Tatical" where everything is one headshot kill or an achiievement requiring you to speed run through a level in a very short time where you'd have to turn up speed and essentially dodge fire and really just run.

Good, bad, or ugly idea?

With a bit of tweaking, I think the idea could work. I mean, several other games have options like that. To an extent, Halo does, what with the skulls. Of course they shouldn't be unlocked until after you beat the campaign once, just to rule out cheating.

I like that idea I would love to put just plasma pistols and 500% armor and go one on one with a chieftain.
