I was just playing some halo (its still on pause) when I realized how cool it would be to have the ability to "cook" grenades, or hold them in your hand so they go off sooner after you throw them. And it would be easy to implement, too, just say when you pull the trigger, you ready the grenade, and when you release it you chuck the nade. And, to better prevent people from blowing their arms off, maybe add a small timer to the hud so you know when your nade is gonna pop.
Another consideration is whether both types of nade have timers... maybe just make frags have timers, since plasma nades have the cool sticky ability. Just my two cents on Halo 2.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a timer for everything? Like "3 more secs till your done taking a leak" that would be cool...

Back on topic...

it would be sucidal to do it to plasma grenades. And you wouldn't have a neat timer in real life. Grenades in Halo 1, however, explode 2-3 secs before hitting the ground, so if you cooked it it would probably explode in your face...

Na, you guys dont understand.... I am not wanting a timer so much as the ability to hold a nade in your hand, count down, and throw it so it explodes in your enemies face, and not possibly bounce around him. It would be nice for taking out flying vehicles... count down, release with a second left, and blam! goes the banshee out of the sky. The actual timer would just be a nice thing to let you know when you should chuck the nade, but if you wanted to have skill involved, no timer would be needed... just make people count in their heads.

Impossible-
Frags only set off their timer when they hit something
Plasma has three seconds on it and everyone knows when its coming its not hard to miss a fly blue glowing orb

yea the time doesnt matter its just so that you can hold them.. say theres an elite and 5 grunts all bunched around the radio thingy, so you prime the nade and hold it for maybe 1 cuz you have to throw it meduim distance.. that way right about when it hits the ground it goes off.. thatd be cool

in the novermber 2002 issue of EGM it said and i quote

"The team is toying with is the idea of manual detention of grenades: Push and hold in the trigger to toss an explosive and it won't go off until you release the trigger"

Imagine a CTF match you stick a gernade on a guys back when he grabs the flag and let him get close to his base I'm gonna make it...... I'M GONNA MAKE IT! I'M THE KING OF THE W- BOOM

That would be sweet
