What if you have no mic? - thread just got owned

They can still hear you.

You do realize that if I have no means to communicate with others that it would be impossible for them to hear me, right? People having no mics is another flaw in your idea.

You don't need your mic to hear. When you take your mic out you just hear them through the speakers unless you go to preferences and turn off speakers too right? Well then I guess squad based playlist will only allow people who have their mic plugged in.

Your idea is based on the whole concept of communication. If someone that had no mic was a squad leader, then the whole communication system fails since they can't talk to you. The whole system is too complex for the average player.

Big teams are for PC and stupid PS3 devs that dont know how to make a decent game.
Also try just sticking with 'yes' or 'no.' We dont need 6 options for a yes or no question.

That's your opinion and some people say yes some say no. And some people need more options to express what they think. To prove that I put Hell Yeah!!/NO!! for yes and no, but those aren't the only options that got votes.

That's why I said the game won't let you in those playlist unless you have your mic in and its volume is up. If you take your mic out or turn the volume off while in a squad playlist the game will let you know you have 30 seconds before you get automatically booted.

All of the different things you've put is redundant. "Hell yea" is the same as saying "yes", for the sake of polls. You could've simply put "Yes" and "No" as the options for your poll and you'd still have the same results. Who cares about variety when it's all the same?

(I'd also stress even using "Maybe" in polls. If you have an opinion about something, then it should never be a "maybe".)

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

If and only if it had an expansive, open-field terrain of play, such as that in Battlefield 2, and if and only if there was forced objective gameplay with different "nodes" or areas of interest split up across the terrain to keep the players split up. Lag or not, 400 people fighting in one location would be too much going on at one time.

Why are you ridiculing the options I put for a poll? I don't see the big deal. Some people think yes or no, and some people really think yes or no. I gave more options because I honestly thought it was appropiate so people could really understand what each other think. And Im not the only one who gives options like that. I think you are just saying that because I spammed on foums and I apologize. Im new to bungie.net and this is actually my first time posting my ideas on a website.

The poll options are all redundant. I'm pretty sure that a person can understand that saying "yes" is the same as saying "yes".

Sorry, I've just seen way too many bad polls today. If the options to a poll are "yes" and "no", then there is no reason to make more options.

EDIT: It's good that you're thinking of ideas. Don't make people that don't like your ideas as discouragement, but please think of all the pros and cons to your ideas and if they're practical.

Now this is just getting rediculus. Comeback when you have a basic sense of makes a game good. Restrictions are the things you definately dont want. Also the game has no way of knowing you have a mic, and everyone would just plug it in and not use it.

It knows when your controller is unplugged so why wouldn't it be able to detect your mic? Everyone wouldn't always have to communicate, but if lets say the other team starts winning in a capture gametype I think they'll want to chat with the other leaders. Like maybe suggest 6 squads stay behind and guard the flag/bomb/etc whle the other two flank the enemy base from two angles simotaneously.

That would be stupid as hell. No offense.

Have you ever played BTB alone? Every single time I do I end up losing for the sole fact that my teammates are either horrible at playing the game, or they just don't listen to some logical advice, in which case they are... still horrible players.

You would get so many idiotic randoms just ruining the flow of the game it wouldn't even be funny (and don't say "well go in with a full team of 200" since you can only have 100 friends on your list).

More about squad system

There would be 8 squads on each 200 player team. In each squad 25 people. Five of those people are the squad leaders for your squad. So there are 40 squad leaders on each 200 player team. You and your squadmates waypoints are purple. Your squadleaders waypoints are blue. Other players who are on your team, but not in your squad waypoints are white. The squad leaders can press down on the d-pad to request vehicle pick up like if they or someone near them has the flag or for other reasons. When they do a menu will pop up and they can choose which vehicle they want for pickup. When they request a vehicle a waypoint will guide teammates who are driving that kind of vehicle to them. Squad leaders can tap left on the d-pad to go into private leader chat with all squad leaders on their team to come up with plans like which squads attack and which defend. They have a icon on there screen that lets them know there are squad leaders private chatting. And a icon will appear over all players on there team who are private chatting either in leader chat, xbox live party, or xbox live private chat. And squadleaders can boot people who don't listen, or mess up the game. They would press the back button to pull up the squad menu and press (y) on a player they want to boot. All of squadleaders have to press (y) on that player to boot them. Squadleaders can only boot players from their squad, and the majority of players+ at least 1squad leader can vote to have a squadleader booted from their squad. At the end of a game 10 players of each squad will be chosen based on how they did by the game for extra exp ,and then their squad leaders will each choose 2 people from their squad to award more extra exp. Assumingly they will choose people who listened to them or no one. There will be a few playlist in which you have to have been chosen for extra exp I would say 10 times before you can play them. There will also be a manditory overview / tutorial of this info so players will know the matchmaking system. You can change squad options like how many squad leaders and people in each squad in custom games, or you can just turn squads off. What do you think?

Maybe that's true, but it may be needed for really large maps. And even if you're just playing 16 vs 16 having squads may still make for interesting and tactial gametypes. Everyone doesn't have the same opinion of what makes a game good, and I respect yours so don't say Im stupid because you don't agree.

I'd just like too make some points here.

1. I'm not mad at you for having this idea in the first place but saying that this is yours? This must be a really really big coincidence for you to not have stolen the idea from MAG which has 256 players total with being divided into squads with leaders. Seems a lot like you said it was.

2. I'd just think that this would be awesome idea for a game but for Halo it just doesn't fit. Call of Duty would fit this better but here you are a spartan who is a soldier who isn't commanded.

3. Stop advertising your other forum post. May be off topic of me but it gets annoying and I can tell you just want posts in your other topic.

Shopping Bags

Large scale battles would be cool, as long as it still includes smaller scale stuff. I do think 200 player matches is a little bit too big to work well. I only ever enjoyed BTB when everyone in my party knew each other or had some connection to each other. This is because that was the only time anyone ever listened to each other and worked as a team. When your party consists of people who are matched up and don't know each other, nobody listen's to one another and the teamwork element is completely destroyed. The real problem with big scale multiplayer games is getting everyone to work together, and with the clan system gone, I hardly see it at all in Halo 3.

It's a shame because the whole point of BTB is teamwork. When the teamwork is there, it's great fun. When it's not there, it just descends into an every man for himself, communication-free scramble to the flag/bomb/territory/etc.

In short, I would enjoy large scale battles of maybe 25v25, but it would definately require the return of proper clan support beyond what b.net can offer.

Why wouldn't it fit Halo? And if you guys disagree with my idea so much how does MAG manage 256 players just asking?

i think it should be a realy big map with strategic points and a highway but having 5 divided teams wouldnt be easy to play imagine sorting all the noobs and balancing teams. it should be like a epic 1 on 1 and with the posibility of flyable pelicans ,thats how you disperse your squads or from a vehicle spawn point near the starting point.
