Yes i think it shud it wud bring a completely new play style which i wud like to see how bungie wud pull that off and wudnt love to feel mor like the spartan if u were moving around with the character i sure wud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. It would ruin the classic Halo gameplay style. I really hope I get to have atleast one more Halo game with the same controller. I really don't want to jump IRL everytime I want to jump in Halo. That would be ridiculous.

y not it wud be fun and bring something new to the halo franchise

Its simple business guys.. What would allow for the most sales? A game with Natal, a game without Natal, or a game where Natal is optional..? Its easy. In order to make the most sales AND keep customers happy after purchasing it, they need to implement Natal but as an optional attachment. I.e. have certain interfaces within the game that you can use Natal with but not require one to purchase it to play the game.

Microsoft is the chief financier and will make these decisions based on what will make them the most money. Well, people who buy the controller only version of the game will be happy that they got their beloved Halo game just the way they like it. But being avid Bungie fans, they will want to see what all the hype about Natal is and will want to use it in the game to get the full experience Reach has to offer. Whats better for M$ than to get customers to buy not only one of their games, but a new piece of hardware that goes with it while at the same time keeping EVERYONE happy.

Make sense?

As for campaign vs multiplayer:

Solution: Allow for Natal to be used in Campaign and optional in Multiplayer.

Campaign: Use it for switches, picking up things, opening doors, whatever.. I think it would be too slow to use it for actual movement. (Watching the demo there was too big of a lag difference between live movement and player movement... wouldnt be able to dodge fire very well)

Multiplayer: Use controllers for MM. There is too big of a competitive following for Halo and Bungie knows this. Yeah, a lot of people play for fun.. but a lot play for the competitiveness. They will not disregard their success in this field. For people wanting to just play for fun, have a setup where they could use natal if they wanted. It may seem they have a disadvantage at first (learning to use it) but once comfortable with it, who knows? (bumper jumper..?)

True, it might be fun; however, I go running and go to the gym and when I come home and want to play video games, I want to be in a chair, relaxing. Most wii games my friends and I play allow you to sit which interacting with the wii-mote. NATAL is looking like it will probably be more involved, take more effort, and make video games excessively aerobic.

I'd be open to trying Natal but I can't see myself wanting to completely give up the use of a hand held controller.

Sure, I suppose they could make it optional, but they would be changing the basis of Halo that people have been playing with since Halo: CE came out. Sure they want to milk people for all of the money they can, but honestly I think if they don't implement NATAL perfectly, if they do at all, it could kill the Halo franchise which is a huge cash-cow.

Do you really believe that executives at the most powerful and profitable software company in the world are going to ruin a successful product? Our opinions about this dont matter. They are smarter than us, and they know what will sale. Its their job. We just come on this website saying we think they should do this or that and that if they dont, they are stupid. Yet, they are the ones making millions and millions of dollars.

yah i see wat u guys are saying i wud say make optional now cus that way it wud bring in new players and keep old players

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

While project natal does sound pretty cool.....I don't think it would work all that well for Halo's style of play.

no, never, I like playing with gamepads

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Sure. For menus and forge and theater type junk.

\V /A ID IE IR

you cant do a full on FPS with natal... too many commands.
If you look at the games they showcased on it they were all simple. Skateboarding, Martial arts, painting. Not many controls required.

No way a complicated game such as halo will be able to be completely implemented to discern between melee attacks, grenade throws, equipment use, movement, firing, reloading, swapping weapons, jumping, crouching, driving, etc.

Plus I have a feeling the project NATAL games showcased were not actually being played in the video... WAAAAAY too fluid and clean for M$

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

Natal doesn't even have an estimated release date yet, it won't be out for a while after Reach comes out.

How would you jump, run, turn, drive, high jack a car, fly a Banshee, or even switch and hold weapons?

I'm laughing right now. How would you run or jump? Obviously by jumping and running! And anyways, Natal will surely find a way to be able to implement those features into the game, I mean come on, it hasn't even been released yet, and you're underestimating it. Not saying that it should be the only way of operating Halo: Reach, though, it should only be optional.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

its a fps

Implementing Natal with a game like Halo would be revolutionary. It would take gaming a step forward rather than a step back if used successfully. I don't know why people do not realize how something such as motion control in an FPS could potentially change gaming forever. Microsoft is taking a huge step towards the future even if it is a large risk.

And besides, if Bungie knew they could not pull of Natal integration successfully, they would not do anything, let alone have their President comment on Natal. Bungie is made of dreamers and visionaries, not people who do the norm. The always try to push their technology to the limits.

Anyways, I doubt anything like that will happen anytime soon though.

[Sorry if that sounded fanboyish]
