like my post, for those of us non-xbox livers, i want a game with multiplayer and bots so if i beat the game i can switch over and play against bots, me and say...5 bots versus 6 enemy bots (hopefully more like player 1, and then 15 other bots on teams you put them on

No. No bots.

Halo was unique because is didn't need them! Besides how fun will it be when a team of AI own you when they shoot you with a scorpion tank....or any vechile for that matter. AI never misses, and it doen't have fun! Halo is about getting together with a ton of people and blasting each other on King of the Hill with shotguns....it's about pistol whipping your foes in the head and laughing! Bots take the fun away! I'll laugh and cry the day you people play against bots, who are programed never to miss and know how to get all the power-ups!

I think that they should make the bots like the ones in Jedi Knight II, except harder. I still play that game because of the bots.

First, just because they are there doesn't mean you have to play them.

It's like knowing you could go kick some little kid's ass. You don't, because, honestly, what the hell? But it is still an option, an availability. You don't want to and you're doing the right thing, but for all those 28 year old men that weigh 100 lbs and can't pick on their Mothers or anyone else their age, they just may need to pick on some 6 year old. Just like I'm totally buying a second controller and XBL for H2, but it is a lot for Bungie to expect that people will have friends with XB's, TV's, and Link Cables, as well as 4 controllers a piece, to get together and play a big halo game, or even 4 controllers - That's $90 (XB comes with one.). I know that I'd have fun playing AI - AI doesn't have to be perfect, it can be programmed to miss. You play AI in single player, and it doesn't insta-kill you.

The reason people are so 'up on' bots, is that it wouldn't be that hard to implement into the engine apart from menus - they just need slightly modified single player AI models with Spartan/Elite skins. It would be a lot of work, but work that would be fantastically revered by players. The reason I don't play Halo 1 daily any more is because the standard single player missions only have a couple of good 'straight combat' or 'strategic death' areas, which is sometimes all I want. I don't always want to cart around a giant world in a Warthog for an hour, or wander around a spaceship for 40 minutes, just to kill 20 grunts. Sometimes you want to spawn, scream, shoot, and sever.

I have 1 friend with an XBox, he has 1 controller. I have 1 controller. Getting his or my XB and TV over to the others' house is pointless, and neither of us really enjoy 2 Player games, because our skill levels are different (he got the game a year before me..) And rather than -blam!- each other up on multiplayer, we want to go into blood gulch on one team and bash 14 covie bastards.

Is that such a heinous crime? Such a terrible want? For such an addition in replayability, and such a comparatively small amount of engine work, it would seem bots would be a given, but, we'll see. We'll see.

If you dont want A.I. then good for you, cause you dont have to use them, how nice huh!

But on the other hand, if you want A.I. and some little punk@ss says no just because they want to be controlling then screw them because it makes no sense to limit everyone for N-O reason just because somebody wants to be a jackass.

If you voted no then its quite clear you either did not think ahead (limiting others is bad and causes ANGER) or you did think ahead and you just want to limit others cause you want to be an @ss. hopefully those that voted no where not thinking ahead, cause if you did then you are exhibiting traits of a tyrannical facist.

Then I'm fascist. I stick with the original. They didn't put bots in the first....so Halo 2 doesn't need them either. You can say I have no taste, but that means Bungie doesn't either or we'd all be "botting it" in the first game!

why would we ALL be botting it in the first game? if you dont want them then you shouldent/wouldent use em correct???? your vote and statement contradict each other.

I never once contradicted myself. I don't like bots! I thought that was pretty trasparent in my previous statements. If you want me to spell it out for you I will....
You are telling me that if bots were in the first game you wouldn't be subject to harrassment/annoyance from people alway putting bots on. I will tentively agree that the more customizations for the players the better, but most people are idiots to me. I guess that makes me a horrible person. I see Halo 2 with bots as an inescapable feature for the next game. I play X-box live, and all I see in my head is multiplayer/bot games! Halo to me was about playing against people, and being good, no, better than them! Bots are programmed to be good. They never miss, they know were all the power ups are, they don't need a radar to know were you are, and they never use tangiable tactics! So thats my opinion, so lets move on people. Oh, and because it's annoying me... you spelled should'nt and would'nt wrong. Contractions don't have e's!

Xolleran,
Halo 2 is not supposed to be the same as Halo 1. It is supposed to have improvements, and I believe bots will improve the game.

Bots can miss. Have you ever played Unreal Tournament? The bots accuracy could be changed, along with how much they strafed, how much they jumped, their favourite weapon, their speed and their overall ability. And UT is an ancient game, I suspect AI has come a long way since then.

If you don't want to play with bots on XBL I suggest not joining a game with bots in.

Also, in "should'nt" and "would'nt" the apostrophe should be between the n and the t - shouldn't/wouldn't. :P

you spelled should'nt and would'nt wrong.

You also spelt shouldn't and wouldn't wrong - the apostrophe is to indicate where a missing letter is - this case in the word not on the end.

Also, i doubt bots would be allowed on live, because if an AI is filling a space, then another player can't join.

Bots in split screen = good (for those of us without live or other people to play against.
Bots on Live = About the worst idea around

TY splinterfaction, I guess XOLLERAN had to resort to gramatical prowess to look smoothe, although he/she failed miserably.

And for you XOLLERAN you said we ALL would be botting it up, so therefor unless you dont exist you would be part of that all, yet you voted no for bots, there is your contradiction right there. And you dont have to play on a live game with bots if you dont want to, you have no right to limit what others do with their choices, if people want to play with bots and turn them on you have no right to tell other people what they can use in THEIR game, you may think most people are idiots, but they are MOST people and I can understand along WITH most people that you are the true idiot.

Namecalling and pointing out minor gramatical flaws doesent really make friends.

Point taken... but there also were other things not in the original Halo. ie dual weilding, boarding, interactive environments, ect... Should those things be left out of Halo 2 also?

btw- I agree that bots should NOT be implemented on LIVE, just offline / splitscreen play.
