Armor Traits = Unfair, Unbalanced gameplay
Weapon Add ons = Unfair, Unbalanced gameplay
Massive multi-player = Crap.

How? I understand armor traits being unfair, but if you think attachments are not fair then equipment should be gotten rid of too. And you don't know if massive multiplayer is crap unless it is tested maybe in a beta. Please explain to me how attachments are not fair. Is it because you have to fight for them and everyone won't have them? Everyone won't have power weapons or equipment either. When you kill a player with a attachment you can take their weapon and/or press right on the d-pad to swap attachments if you can. There can be at most 2 types of attachments for a weapon. If you have a A.R with a attachment that you want to switch you find another attachment that goes with it. If there is one.

How do you attain these weapon attachments?

They are already on the map and are forgable objects like everything else. Players fight for them just like power weapons, and equipment. And I think you should be able to choose starting equipment and attachments in custom games. Everyone probably won't even go for them becuase they may like the way the weapon is by default. Remember attachments don't really make weapons better they just change alter their stats a little making them more suited for different situations.

I don't think even a spartan can ensemble a weapon in not just field conditions while in cover, but when youre being Splazered. Your ideas suck. So just shut up, cause seriously, thats how CoD sounds like. We want Halo, not Halo of Duty Theft Auto.

State a reason why you disagree and the same for if you agree please. I mean the people who say things like "this isn't COD" or "your ideas suck". I know Halo doesn't need attachments. Well it doesn't need equipment or vehicles either, but you want them right!? It's just an idea I thought would be cool. So just stfu!! The amount of time it takes to add the attachment would be the same for how long it takes to switch weapons.

Your arguement comes apart right here, equipment does not control gameplay, weapons do. A bubble shield can have impact on the game but only for a moment. A power weapon or modified weapon is good until the user drops it, or is killed, having a much longer lasting effect on the gameplay and hurting balance.

And you don't know if massive multiplayer is crap unless it is tested maybe in a beta.

The current xbl system can barely support 8v8 without major lag issue, how do you expect to accomplish something of that scale? Before you answer servers, allow me to explain that servers fix nothing in terms of lag. All a server would do is remove host advantage froma single player, but internet connection still makes or breaks the experiance. Add to that the fact that server location will have a huge impact, hurt international gameplay, and add huge amounts of cost. Something of this scale is impractical.

Please explain to me how attachments are not fair. Is it because you have to fight for them and everyone won't have them? Everyone won't have power weapons or equipment either. As I mentioned in my first comment, the equipment comparison is a poor one. In relations to power weapons, more often than not those who use the higher end weapons earn kill streaks, it is safe to assume that attachements will have a similar effect, once again adding balance issues to a game formula that already suffers from that enough. In regards to the swapping idea, you are overcomplicating a game that thrives in simplicity.

Not trying to bash you, but you did ask for explanations and I realize that my first post here wasn't very well explained.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Frontlines: Fuel of War had 64 players and ran without lag.

They can easily do it.

Okay I think I understand you. There wouldn't be that many attachments on a map though, or maybe 1 attachment just comes with each weapon that has one and there is a extra other type of attachment for some weapons on the map. You would press (RB) to switch attachments.

I see where you are going with this, but adding in anything that allows an advantage, affects balance. The addition of attachements would have to be balanced by something else. Whether it be weapons base effectiveness is reduced, or perhaps weapons w/attachements can no longer pickup basic ammo. I don't know, but there has to be something, you cannot add any feature without anticipating how it will affect gameplay.

Think of the noob tube in COD4, not a well thought out implement, allowing for blind shots that can cluster kill multiple enemies. Reach needs to focus on bringing back balance IMO, not adding more stuff to the scales.

Weapons don't come with attachments in matchmaking. When you have a attachment on its recoil is increased, magnetism is reduced, and...It takes 1.50 seconds longer to reload?

with great power must also come with, oh you know the rest.

attachments could work if done correctly and i think they would work best wit duel weildable weapons so for example you have a magnum a find a scope attachment it would improve its acuacy but at the cost of being able to duel weild it
