What ticks me off is that even though they aren't continuing the trilogy, they didn't want to end it either and give us a solid ending!

Screw the Halo 2-esque mystery ending!

Oh well, I suppose it's for the best...as novel writers might continue on the story where Halo 3 left off.
Trilogy means 3 in a series. How many Halos do we have? 3. Storyline of that, over.

Don't copy Bungie; you have no rights. You didn't even put quotes around it.

Technically, we have 4 Halos right now and 2 more on the way. (Even though "Wars" has nothing to do with the other 3 games or Bungie or Master Chief)

Ugh ok
Bungie sold Halo IP to Microsoft
Bungie said they were done with the TRILOGY not the game
Halo 4 would be pretty pointless
Reach is before Halo 1

I understand that Bungie Stated Halo was a trilogy but why can't that change? It's not like it's a law. I hate when people say that Halo 4 won't happen because Halo is a trilogy. That's not really a legitimate reason.

And what's the point of having a Halo prequel?

what would halo 4 be about? the wars over and everything peacfull again

Here are some ideas:
1. A money management game, where you rebuild Human society. Then when you control everything, you automatically activate the Halos, start over, and get to be "god"
2. A game where you play as the Arbiter. You go back to your home planet, and because the Arbiter is a good swordsman, you woo all of the Elite ladies. Then you make weird alien love to them.
3. A game where you are once again the Chief. You land on the Legendary planet, and have to fight angry Sentinels. However, because you only have one bullet left in your Assault Rifle, you decide to kill yourself before they can. The game consists of Chief taking off his helmet, then shooting himself in the head.

All done from perspective near the ground or something so we still don't see his face!

If he is killing himself, why not show his face? I mean that will be the last you'll ever see of the MC.

It Is during the fall of reach. That game is going to be epic compared to the other games considering how massive of a battle it was. If I recall correctly, more then 100 covenate warships, 5 massive orbital mac cannons , an UNSC fleet (forget ship count), and massive ground conflict with about 20 spartans on the ground fighting.

I'm pretty sure there were at least 15. But that's besides the point. Why you ask? Because the book is titled "The FALL of Reach". Great. We get to take part in an epic battle that we're guaranteed to lose. What next, a Remember The Alamo game?

i think halo wars wasnt good but halo ODST will be great and it will be the first time you get to play in first person as someone besides master cheif or the arbiter.

Facepalm.
Halo was a trilogy. Tri. Thrreeeee.
Reach and ODST aren't spin-offs, ODST is a mid game. Reach is a prequel. They're different periods of the story.

Unfortunately, Micro$oft does own the rights to Halo. Maybe Bungie could release another Marathon game.... [hint hint]

Well, if they never showed his face, then it would be the ultimate screw you to fans. I think that would be hilarious.

Can you say countradictory. I like how you say Halo is a trilogy but then you add Reach is a prequel. Meaning it's still part of the same series. Plus all your useless information was already pointlessly stated above.

Prequels aren't part of the same series. Think Star Wars.

Actually, Halo Wars has to do with the other games. We see what happened to Harvest (First Covenant contact), we see other Spartans, we see battles that took place within the Halo universe which is the point IMO.

Wrong. A prequel is set chronologically before its predecessor. Therfore it is set prior to the first game, which is intended to be part of the same series.

  • 07.01.2009 3:05 PM PDT

Lolololol I hate you.

Halo is a trilogy. yes. now shush. Bungie said that they would not CONTINUE the trilogy. If you want to say prequels count as adding a game, then fine, but they are not CONTINUING the trilogy. Continuation would be after, not before.
