Fixed, and I don't see why they would make a combination of two different guns chambered to fire two different calibers and different firing modes.

To the OP, what do you mean "Make it less useless"? Its pretty much the best (and most annoying) weapon in the game. It often kills swords and shotguns at close range, only if the person wielding the sword/shotgun really sucks.

How many times have you run at some noob with a sword or shotgun who's using the AR, patheticly backing into a corner just spraying aimlessly and then he kills you last mili-second? Oh wait, youve probably never had that happen to you, because youre the sad noob running backwards into the corner, and when you get the sword you just get gunned down again anyways.

When I get the shotgun/sword, which I rarely ever use, I don't go running out in the open with it like a damn idiot. I stay in close quarters areas where I can surprise my opponents and kill them. Anyone with common sense knows not to use a shotgun or sword in open areas.

This is my opinion on the matter, The MA5B/C have always been Masterchiefs/Spartans/Marines first weapon of choice.

i think they should mix the Halo 2 and the Halo 3 BR into one weapon.

as for the AR, I would like to see it have the same accuracy as the H3 AR with a slightly less RoF, but with a new sound and the 60 round clip. i also think they should up the damage and make it feel like the AR actually packs a punch, I want it to tear through flesh and armor, and ping off shields. not sound like its just peppering them.

You just want the Assault Rifle to be something it is not. You do know the difference between a real life Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle right? They fit their niches as they should. There is no single perfect gun that fits all roles and performs well. The whole reason assault rifles were developed is because engagements were being held at closer range, so a weapon more powerful than an SMG but with the range of a traditional rifle was sought. The Halo 3 AR handles that role quite well.
The Halo 1 and 3 Assault Rifles have laughable range and are not versatile weapons at all... this is why they are poor spawn guns. They are only useful at close range, and hardly even work at midrange; with my suggestions, they would be operational at midrange in the right hands.

That way they are more suited for their roles without completely butchering them and resurrecting a God pistol. You could always just weaken the Pistol from 3 shots to 5 or something like that, so it kills as fast as the BR.

The stats are pretty much identical to how they are in H3, except more skilled players could now out-AR someone by applying better aim, and the Rifle would be functional at midrange in the right hands (though not a killing weapon there like the BR is, since single-shot would be very slow compared to the BR ROF)

I answerd 'NO' in the poll. The only way i would say yes is if it was not a starting weapon.

The AR as a starting weapon incresed a players inital engagment range, decreased the need to actually locate a better weapon before charging the enemy, and practically eliminated dual weilding's usefulness.

SMG is the better choice for starts.

You probably already heard of this. Weapon attachments could make for some interesting gameplay. You press the same button you use to pick up weapons and equipment to pick up attachments too. Attachments don't go to all weapons so you will only be able to pick it up if the attachment goes to that weapon. When you pick up a attachment you will drop your other weapon because you can only carry one weapon and its attachment at a time. Please note that attachments are not supposed to make weapons better, but rather they strengthen one attribute at the cost of another. Like the assault rifle would have longer range its power would be decreased. Also to balance things out when you have a attachment on a weapon its recoil is noticibly increased and maybe decreased bullet magnetism. It takes 1.90 seconds to add the attachment to the weapon and 1.50 seconds to take it away. Max spread is by how much each shot spreads out at max range.
