Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

Modding = illegal and punishable by law. You can get a pretty hefty fine for it, as well as having your Xbox banned.

But hey, if you want to be a dumb ass, be my guest.

It's really your choice, but to be honest I think it's wrong.

No, please research your stuff first, even if you had a modded xbox (not adding game saves through a method any idiot can do) that can play burnt games, MS cant take you to court, they can only ban the xbox that does that, yet you XBL account will still be active you would need a whole new xbox. If you read it we are allowed to temper with hard ware, just that it voids the warrenty and we can get banned for it, no legal action can be taken since they have no idea what games/if any you downloaded. So now action and no fine, just a banned Xbox, though even then adding a game to your list isnt even close to what I described, but they still have evidence of tampering so they can ban the console

Then how come most companies love and accept modding like valve and epic games

  • 07.01.2009 6:56 PM PDT

Not if its only used for your own entertainment (flying warthogs, driveable pelicans, etc.)

Because they don't have a contract that you sign when you use their products that clearly says "No".

True, and frankly I've done that on PC versions of games. It's not a big deal. What is a big deal though, is when you add a game to your saved games list, find the achievements, and distribute them like nothing ever happened.

I never thought I would have this many replies in such a short amount of time. If you have any questions just send me a message on XBL "Omen4500" I will make a Q&A video on my youtube, So subscirbe

Please stop leaving negative stuff. Modding can be very fun.

Congrats you add achivements to your Halo 3, easy to do, also will get you banned from Recon

Death to rank junkies.

It depends. If you're making a map look different or something else that dosn't negitavely affect players, then no. If it gives you advantages, then yes.

It depends what you do with your modding ability, but generally it isn't wrong

I guess now that you modded those Vidmaster Achievements you can't get recon because you have to earn all Vidmaster achievemts online. All of yours say "Earned Offline."

The Sausage King of Chicago.

Modding for advantage, yes. Modding for enjoyment, no.

For example, many people just mod things for fun, like drivable Pelicans, etc... I think it is only wrong if you mod to give yourself an advantage, like auto-headshots, 1 shot kills, etc...

Argumentum ad populum

I don't care what you do with your stuff. As long as you aren't modding in any game online, more power to you.

  • 07.01.2009 8:18 PM PDT

Sorry, my first post was a little stupid.
Anyway, in my opinion it depends on what you do, but I try to avoid modders (except for the tool action replay for DS, which is good)

To some extent. Pirating is illegal and modding online isn't cool, but otherwise it's fine.

Are you the guy who got the ODST achievements? Are you saying the achievements aren't legit? Both appear to be true.

"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bull-blam!-, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

i belive shhave funzes suppos

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Wow...I love how everyone seems to think its such a bad thing to mod its worse than cheating(modding is NOT cheating)

I have no problem with modders as long as they don't ruin online matchmaking(which I've never seen in Halo 3). Modding is fun, PC players do it all the time out of creativity and making the gameplay different. It adds replay value and interesting ways to play. Remember, modding doesn't mean you cheat. Though I agree modding over XBL is a bad decision. Seeing as how you'll get banned instantly anyway.

Don't base whether or not you buy a game on its graphics. Gameplay and how fun it is are what matter most. Not the textures of the grass that you will never need to look at!

Modding is NOT punishable by law. I modded my original Xbox plenty and never got fined. Don't believe the Microsoft boogeymen, they can only ban you.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

No. It's very entertainging to watch. Although technically it is wrong.
