Bungie.net is the place to be!

Amidst the snowfall, the cold does little to diminish his wishes to be free. The eagle is chained and has no way of breaking free. No matter how much he flies, he still is chained. The blizzards do nothing to break his determination and in his eyes, he will be freed, someday...

Bad habits are like chains that are too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry

Today, I was playing with a good pal of mine. I was going to get him the Vidmaster: Annual achievement. Although I already have it, I thought it would be nice to get it for him and his friends. Soon after he gets the achievement, we started talking about Halo 3:ODST. We were talking about the possible scenarios and then one of them says that in the middle of Halo 3:ODST a "big black thing" crashes into the ground and it is the Master Chief emerging from his sleeper pod/cell aboard the Forward Unto Dawn. I then told him that Halo 3:ODST takes place from the middle of Halo 2 to the beginning/middle of Halo 3. He said that his cousin works for Bungie and that he knows better. I told him that I frequently visit Bungie.net and I always read the Weekly Updates but then he replied by saying that someone could easily hack it and it can't be trusted. I was bewildered by his words and tried to switch to another topic in ODST. I was talking about how it is reasonable to assume but not confirmed that most of your squad is dead and such and you find their gear and play as them but he says that your team is all alive and that you and the rest of your squad meet up again in the final mission and fight alongside the Master Chief(??) I then asked him what they are fighting if all of the Flood and Covenant are no longer a threat and of course he replies that it is a secret and if he told me his cousin would get fired. Some things never change.

Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

Yeah everyone has a cousin/uncle/aunt who works at Bungie.

Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

No offense dude, that sounds like total BS to me.

Blatant lies to make him seem cool. Don't help him again.

It is quite different than your typical "friend of a friend" tale because I was actually talking to him, not my friend telling me about what his friend told me. Also, this may seem to be made up but I would reveal the name of who's friend it is but as far as I know it is against the rules.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

It's clearly made up. Chief is no where near there during ODST. Wow, so obvious in fact that I can't believe you even considered it being true.

At what point did I say I believed him even for a second? I said some rude things to him for saying what he said.

well i wouldn't believe him because master chief was on Delta halo and then is in that huge ship he used to escape High Charity then weeks possibly months later he crashed and halo 3 begins from what i know he never returned to the city where you crash land

Then why post something obviously false? And you should've been rude to him. he's obviously just trying to sound like he knows something.

Most of what he said is BS. I doubt he truly has a "cousin" who works at Bungie. ODST takes place approximately 6 hours after Master Chief left Earth on In Amber Clad. The Rookie wakes up after having been knocked out, and begins searching for his squad. The rest of his squad survived the landing and proceeded through the day in battle. The Rookie explores the city in search of his squad and discovers different pieces of equipment, beginning a flashback sequence of a battle earlier in the day. We do not know if the flashbacks depict death of squad members, or who is dead, or any other details. However, in the E3 trailer, you can hear Buck's voice saying "Hey Rookie, you out there? Respond, that's an order..." Which leads me to believe that he might still be alive through the night. Or it could be part of a flashback. Either way, the rest this "cousin" said is most likely fake. I doubt it will take several weeks (the amount of time it takes Master Chief to return to Earth in Halo 2) for the Rookie to find his squad and finish the storyline. Plus, I don't think Bungie employees would be giving out this much detailed information to people like your friend, who would blab everything at first chance.

Exactly. If he does have a relative who works at Bungie which I am 99.9999%+ sure he doesn't have, I am very doubtful said relative will tell anyone because of the consequences of it being leaked to the forums and such.
