Bungie.net is the place to be!
Amidst the snowfall, the cold does little to diminish his wishes to be free. The eagle is chained and has no way of breaking free. No matter how much he flies, he still is chained. The blizzards do nothing to break his determination and in his eyes, he will be freed, someday...
Bad habits are like chains that are too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry

Most of what he said is BS. I doubt he truly has a "cousin" who works at Bungie. ODST takes place approximately 6 hours after Master Chief left Earth on In Amber Clad. The Rookie wakes up after having been knocked out, and begins searching for his squad. The rest of his squad survived the landing and proceeded through the day in battle. The Rookie explores the city in search of his squad and discovers different pieces of equipment, beginning a flashback sequence of a battle earlier in the day. We do not know if the flashbacks depict death of squad members, or who is dead, or any other details. However, in the E3 trailer, you can hear Buck's voice saying "Hey Rookie, you out there? Respond, that's an order..." Which leads me to believe that he might still be alive through the night. Or it could be part of a flashback. Either way, the rest this "cousin" said is most likely fake. I doubt it will take several weeks (the amount of time it takes Master Chief to return to Earth in Halo 2) for the Rookie to find his squad and finish the storyline. Plus, I don't think Bungie employees would be giving out this much detailed information to people like your friend, who would blab everything at first chance.
Exactly. If he does have a relative who works at Bungie which I am 99.9999%+ sure he doesn't have, I am very doubtful said relative will tell anyone because of the consequences of it being leaked to the forums and such.
