Bungie has stated a long time ago that the legendary ending of Halo CE isn't canon.

  • 07.01.2009 10:39 PM PDT

Death to rank junkies.

I think he and some other marines escaped on a Pelican. The legendary ending didn't actually happen.

  • 07.01.2009 10:39 PM PDT

In Halo CE, Johnson was just a random marine model, with a singular voice actor. However, the fans loved his performance so much, they made him a real character. The Legendary Ending was a joke, and is non-canon.

We believe that the universe is unbounded: this is not the same as infinite: the 2-D surface of a sphere, wrapped around a 3rd dimension, has a finite size, but has no end. If you start off in a given direction on the surface of a sphere, you could return to your start point without having to turn around -- you simply go all the way around. But wouldn't that mean the universe has an escape velocity like the earth?

the elite/johnson legendary ending fight was non-canon, it never happened in the halo universe, it was a joke by bungie, when the master chief destroyed the Pillar of Autumn, Sgt Johnson was already on a pelican destined for earth

But, at the start of Halo 2, the marine who asks Johnson how he got of the ring,, to which he replies, "sorry, classified." Why would it even be mentioned if he just flew off in a Pelican?

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

He's a Terminator.

There were other events following, including a Covenant cruiser or something. It gives you a reason to read the books.

Om the legendary ending didnt happen in Halo 1, so it didnt in Halo 3! Now everyone can stop talking about it! WOO....Now Bungie just needs to say the Halo 3 Legendary ending is fake and we weill be good!

Nothing is better than gaming through the day, into the night, then back into the day. It's like when you finally push that power button you feel like you've accomplished nothing, but at the same time, you can't stop smiling.

It's a game. Deal with it.

Rule 6: Respect the Admins

“It’s their website, and they can do whatever the hell they like with it. You’re a guest, and hassling them about how they run things is akin to going round your Auntie’s house and curling one out in her tea-pot.”

If you read the 2nd book, it says he escaped on a pelican with an ODST.

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

He escaped in a Pelican with an ONI operative, an ODST, and a pilot. They link up with the Chief's Longsword and board a Covenant ship, commandeer it, and go to Reach. At Reach, Fred and co. have discovered a Forerunner crystal which the Covenant are after. Here they rescue Fred, Kelly, Will, Anton, Grace, Li (Spartan-IIs), Whitcomb, and Dr. Halsey. Cortana links the damaged Covenant ship up with a damaged human ship, to allow for more effective slipspace jumps. In Slipspace, the Covenant attack, and the pelican pilot, Anton, and Li are killed. They go to a rebel-controlled asteroid belt for repairs.

Dr. Halsey sedates Kelly and steals a ship and heads for Onyx. The Covenant arrive and a battle occurs, and they flee once more (the rebels decided to stay in the asteroid belt). Cortana detects a large Covenant force (500 ships) gathering at a space station, the Unyielding Hierophant, apparently to go to Earth (they do not know it's our homeworld). The Spartans assault the space station and cause its reactors to overload.

They escape, though Grace has been KIA by a Brute. They go back to the human ship, which has been given the Covenant slipspace drive. Whitcomb and the ONI operative take the Covenant ship and drift close to the station, telling the Covenant if they want the artifact from Reach, they have to come get it, displaying a hologram of it to the aliens.

The fleet pushes in toward the still ship, and the space station explodes, destroying all but about 12 ships, which are most likely some of the ships which came to Earth in H2 looking for the Ark portal.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"

It did in the beginning of Halo 2 one of the marines ask johnson how did he survive and he said that's classified.
