Don't upset Achronos or you'll end up with a dog's head in a jar in your mailbox.

Halo 3 runs at a native "640p".

The game will be optimized to scale to 1080p; Halo 3 already looked beautiful in the setting, I can only imagine how the engine has ripened. I expect to see some truly beautiful stuff. The EMP emitted from the covenant cruiser causing the space elevator to sway already looked awesome, as did the burning buildings in the horizon.

To add to my post, Halo 3 runs at "640p" most likely because of the design choice to include true HDR - you gain incredible lighting while sacrificing detail and exposing jaggies. I think it's an okay tradeoff, and hopefully Reach will run at native 720p.

The advancements in technology and lessons learned with Halo 3's engine would make the possibility of Reach running in true HD while still retaining all of the incredible details Halo 3 shipped with very likely. I'm surprised Halo 3 was as beautiful as it was, and if ODST manages to pull off some super shiny stuff then it's a sure bet that Reach will set a technical benchmark for the 360.

The highest my TV runs is 1080i, any higher and the picture goes huge.

Halo 3 still looks great though.
