<repost because the other topic didn't have the title I had preferred>

Okay, bare with me here. When you do backwards time travel, one of two things could happen in theory. One: You would replace your other self, causing him to not exist. Two: You would be there with your other self. Both are in theory. Now, if we were to go by theory Two, then MC would be able to take place in the events of Halo: Reach without altering MC in Halo: CE. But, if theory One were true, the events of Halo: CE and further would not be void like some people think. They would just exist in another universe.

Now, as you all recall, in Terminator 2, a T-800 was sent back in time to fulfill a mission that has no relevancy to this subject matter. Just by going back in time, the T-800 may have changed many things. But the big thing, was when they had 'stopped' Judgment Day (Actually, it was only postponed, but nonetheless, it was intended to end JD).

My theory is that MC winds up back in time (probably before we saw the planet [Reach] in the Legendary ending) and is convinced that he can save Reach from Doomsday. That the events of Halo CE - 3 while have happened still in MC's life, there would be no need for it to happen. He could stop it.

No offense intended to the OP, but there is absolutely no solid evidence for time travel. People are posting these theories just to get popularity. I really don't think we are going to see time travel, ever. It's such a cliche, i doubt bungie would steep to that level for their story telling. They come up with some amazing stories, and something like this would completely destroy that quality.

No room for creative time travel I suppose?

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Just like the latest Star Trek movie, god I hate time travel plots, hope Bungie never uses one.

Or else I'll have to go back in time and prevent it from happening.

I believe that little phrase debunks ALL Time Travel theories

Wow they could come up with a whole new halo series about if the UNSC still had Reach in their command through out the war. (*thinks he has found the secret of the future for Bungie*)

Time travel is, as previously stated, clichéd. It is also confusing. The only Halo-related story that should involve time travel is Red vs. Blue because the whole time travel sequence in season 3 was hilarious.

Warning: You may find that my, or someone else's opinion does not comply with yours. Side effects of disagreement may include (but are not limited to): flaming, irrational behavior, broken keyboards, and/or nervous sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms refrain from communicating with others until the symptoms have subsided.

I agree that time travel is a little clichéd, but that doesn't mean that this theory is entirely defunct, here's why:

Bungie has talked about time travel before with "I love bees" and Nicole-458.

The "I love bees" synopsis is based off an explosion blowing a smart AI, Melissa apart. Part of her was sent back in time to the year 2004, where she landed on the ilovebees internet website.

Bungie has stated in its December 13, 2005 Weekly Update that:
"In 2552, SPARTAN-458's unit was preparing for a classified mission on Nassau Station when the ONI stealth ship Apocalypso tumbled into real-space - being carried along in the wake of a freak slipspace anomaly. The anomaly intersected Nassau Station; creating a semi-stable "bubble" in the space/time continuum on its way back to the 21st Century. For the time being Nicole-458 is trapped in the 21st century; guarding Nassau Station's secrets with anything but lethal force (she realizes killing someone in the past could have dire consequences)and waiting for the "bubble" to collapse and hopefully returning her to the year 2552."

Of course both these occurrences could be considered "not cannon." And although playing as Master Chief sounds unlikely, and kind of strange, seeing as he shouldn't be at Reach during the destruction of the planet.

During an interview with USA Today, Frank O'Connor said, "I doubt we have seen the last of Master Chief." Link

This could potentially reinforce the theories. Consider:

"From the beginning, you(the chief) know the end."

Strictly theoretical but, I like the idea.

Proud member of ReadyUpLive!

sounds similiar to when my friend said the Halo 3 Campaign was going to involve you going back in time to the year 2000 (or something like that) he almost had me going, until after we went into the portal to the ark thingy, lol. Then I just called him an idiot :-)

CoD got boring. Halo got awsome. Crack me a new one.

i would HATE that... it would ruin the "reach" feel imo... id rather just play the events that happened on Reach.
