Reach MMO. Here's to hoping.

And the people that believe "the hardcore playlists would be more popular if the rules were strictly MLG" can come off it, now. If you're not willing to support something close to your own setup, there's no reason for us to believe that cloning our own lists and stripping the variety down will attract more people. -- Shishka, Bungie.net

Yeah, do we want the exact same game for 10 years? I'll go back to any of the other Halos otherwise. A little fresh air would be nice. ALSO, if we always want the same game, it OUGHT to disappoint, see Halo 3. Well I thought the game was great, but it lacked a little something, a little charm the other Halo had. And I think I know why, it isn't new, we know the drill. When we all waited for Halo 2, we all imagined how it would be to continue the story and all. But while waiting for Halo 3, and playing for the first times Halo 3, it's like we know the song, it's not special anymore. If Reach is the exact same thing, the Halo series will unfortunately, rightfully be in the overrated game basket. We will be like: Bring it already. Refreshing the franchise can only do good, it will rejuvenate it and give new life giving the possibility of maybe surpassing the other games, something that can barely be imaginable if your recycling a 9 year old concept.

Exactly what I am saying.

welcome to my playground

well what i always thought halo needed was full scale battles against large amounts of covenent in a large scale area that would allow you to use any style you wish to fight. also an area of ice with rivers of lava would be cool.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

I would rather have unimaginative but balanced concepts than original ones that are just ridiculous.

They can do all those in updates to Halo 3 or ODST. Don't you want a different exprience from a brand new game.

I'm going to ignore the thing about the rivers of lava through ice! (wouldnt the lava melt the ice?!?!)... But i'm with you on the big battles, we all expected big battles from halo 2. after some of the larger battles of halo1, halo 2 was quite dissapointing. i suppose halo3 did have a couple of big battles in it. but somehow they didnt feel all that big.

we need 100's of troops on each side! complete with tanks and warthogs ect :D

The Chief is never beaten.

(Responding to one of Tyguy101's ideas about cooperative campaign with human players on both factions, which somehow wasn't quoted)

That's a very interesting idea, but it wouldn't work. The players would meet each other on the field, two or three (or four) people would get killed, then they'd run through and meet each other again. And all the losing side could do would be try and chase down the progressing side and kill them while that side tries to finish their objectives. You'd have to elaborate more.

Working from this idea, it WOULD be really cool to have Reach-set Firefight-like battles (but with huge amounts of respawning soldiers and vehicles on each side) where you and your friends are on opposite faction sides, fighting and warring frantically both A.I. and each other. You'd blend into the battle but not so much as that you looked identical to A.I., human side would have Spartans and the Covenant side could be custom-armor Elites or something.

I think you are getting the idea...I defenitely agree that the details would have to be worked out, it obviously could not be as linear of a campaign as the previous Halo's were.

I think your idea of the battle is spot on, and could be in fact what several of the campaign levels would be like. I would just like more of a feeling of what a war would be like with such super units. More like the two Scarab battles in Halo 3 and less like the endless running through corridors and killing small groups of 5-7 enemies at a time.

On Waypoint I'm rocketFox;

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

I'd like to be able to call in AI reinforcements. Even in multiplayer. A team would have a commander and the commander could call in Marine dropoffs, Elite insertions, ODST insertions, Longsword strikes, vehicle dropoffs, surgical glassing..... stuff like that. But the commander would only have limited opportunities to do this (i.e. Longswords returning to rearm, limited Marine squads etc.)

I think that would be pretty cool for lots of situations.

We stand here and fight!
Any enemy that stands in our way we will grind them into dust, and continue our march to glorious salvation. We fight...till the last man. Never give up....never.

Yo shut up...I was just throwing ideas out there, why so serious my friend?

I am the hand of fate!

They can branch off as much as they want, as long as they still have the main 5 expanded upon, but not radically different (well, except for Forge). Campaign, MM, Custom Game, Forge, and Theater should all stay on the paths they've had before. Anything else Bungie wants to add (even though I'd also like the Campaign to be different) is fine by me, but I'd rather they finish this game in the same vein of the Trilogy, and then either move on to different ideas, or let Microsoft's Halo team explore them.

99% of the suggestions you people are putting out Halo:Reach are all so uncreative and insignificant. Most of them could be added in an update or a new disk on the Halo 3 engine. I can't believe how many people there are that just want the same old thing, with a few upgrades and perks.

How about an open world concept?

How about flying large ships?

How about ordering armies?

How about multiplayer PvP campaign missions?

How about experience upgrades? Not just unlocking new armor, but real upgrades in guns and armor?

How about epic battles with bots, consisting of 50-100 units?

How about an MMO concept?

Do you really want Halo 3.5? If you are not tired of the same old gameplay and just want some new stories, weapons, characters, and vehicles then lets have Bungie give you some updates.

I want to really explore the Halo universe. If they are making a whole new game engine, why not make a much different game. Still FPS...but with some radical sweet changes.

Get creative people. You can make new maps forever in Forge, and you can play the same old Halo with small changes for the rest of your life. Don't you want something big?

Funny that the first game Halo CE was the best campaign so far... halo 3 is far away being a CE class....

Making a complete new game that is very, very different from previous games is bad... or they can succed if they have luck!

We need a smarter Campaign... not a 500 marines VS 2000 covenants ... how could CE campaign be so good?... it had dumb AI, less graphic and weapons and so on... Because it was smarter!!!! more strategi!

All the new games with very good graphic and so epic scenes arent always good...

So make a game there you must think before shooting!!!!!

You realize how boring flying large ships would be? They are slow and hard to manuever.

Why would we want to order armies? I would play Halo Wars if I wanted that. Its more fun to do all the work yourself.

How about no weapon upgrades. In the Halo gameplay they wouldn't be necessary because they would make no difference.

I prefer Halo the as the FPS it already is. No need for some MMO.

I'm hoping for Halo 1.5.

I have to pretty much agree with Bullet Sponge there. Save for the Halo 1.5 thing.

i feel like if you think halo 1's campaign was better than you should go play that instead of wishing for it again, because once you were introduced to a campaign like that the original feeling won't ever go away and that feeling will become attatched to you

we need another original feeling to get attatched to

I personally think the natal rumor is just a rumor but i would absolutely love to have squad commands in the game (or at least campaign if there aren't bots in multiplayer)
like you raise your hand and make a fist and your squad stops dead in their tracks
or you make a sweep to the right with your arm and they flank to the right
itd be sweet to have that incredible sense of halo control applied to squad commands like that

I think that squad stuff would be fine, but I don't think it is near the magnitude of change I am looking for in this game. Squad commands would be just another add on, but I want a retooled campaign and multiplayer.

i want a new experience but i dont want it to change that radically. Ex. im playing playing halo and i grow wings because i drank a red bull. you cant just update a game like what your talking about anyway.

I love Halo, and the series right now is great. But more the same is just getting old for me. You can only change the maps, add some guns, tweak some settings, and play the same old game so many times.

It is time for a change.
