I think in the secret ending movie for Halo 3, that the master chief is entering a planets orbet that a guy called the Marathon man is in.

REASONS FOR MY THEROY
-Years ago Bungie made a game called marathon.
-In Halo 3 there is an achievement called MARATHON MAN. You unlock this by reading all the hidden terminals.
-The game Marathon had the same kind of style as Halo. And that is fighting aliens.
-If a game producer makes two good selling games sometimes he connects them two games together. ( e.g. Tom clancy- G.R.A.W and HAWKS )

CONCLUSION
If this is all true then the planet that the master chief is falling to is where he will meet the marathon man!

Marathon takes place either 200 years before or after Halo. I can't remember which so not likely.

A couple things, firstly this is the wrong forum. This does not pertain to Reach at all this is more related to Halo 3. And lastly, this theory has been brought up more than two dozen times (most likely a great deal more than that) over the past year or two halo 3 has been out. This is probably this least thought out one so far. No offense its just there are a lot more theories with more solid evidence which present this exact same case.

WoW is like Girls Gone Wild without the tits: idiots and douches taking turns doing anything to get noticed, and no one knows what a condom looks like.

This is old and bungie has already denied any connection. They just put the stuff in for speculation.

While I am a huge marathon fan Bungie denied any connection between the Halo and marathon universe.

Where's your proof that the hero from Marathon is on this planet?
And Bungie has already said that Halo and Marathon are in different universes.

oh wel it was just an idea. so what is the planet?

My troll sense is tingling.

For the last time, the two stories are separate, Bungie just likes to reference it.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

There are many references in the Halo games to their other games. Like Marathon, Myth, and ONI. I haven't found any references to ONI though, but that could just because ONI sucked a lot! Worse game of all time (no offense), but there are a lot of references to Marathon and I'm pretty sure Myth.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I don't think so. The Marathon ship was made of one of Mars' moons, which are not sphere-shaped like the planetoid in the Legendary ending.

HELL OX77

After halo 3. it take place in the year 2794 give or take a year or two. but the Marathon was the first FPS for Bungie. and the game is good even in today standeds(can'[t spell if my life depended on it) but the marathon has something to do with halo games. look at the moniter face plate marathon logo on it and if you read the turnamal(sorry) they relate the story of marathon(2 not the 1) to the halo games

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that this thread was not made in a very serious manner...

I actually find it pretty funny how Bungie has a strange fascination with "Iain M. Banks".
