1. Halo 3 is already changing from halo. Halo CE was great, halo 3 is for noobs. Plain and simple.

2. Halo 3 doesn't suck, it just takes very little skill, and ruins it for many competitive people.

3. Class based halo. if this isnt the most obvious thing ever, youre stupid. if people got to choose classes, what do you think would be the only 2 classes that SMART people would pick.

THE ROCKET LAUNCHER AND SNIPER. How fun and original would each game be, they would be fail. Nobody wants to play rockets and snipers every -blam!- game. Quite simply classes are work for other games, but 90% of the fan base would be pissed. And they should be.

/thread, thats all there is to it.

Why don't people understand love
:CCCCCCCCCCC

Actually you've got a point. That's probably the reason why rocket launchers are so weak in class based games. But snipers in CoD and BF and REALLY annoying. It's probably best to not let the poopy faces get thier power weapons from the start of the match.

No, halo is already turning into crap of duty with the lag allowing people to shoot through walls and -blam!-, this would just make it call of halo

Skipping reading the rest of the thread, I would like to say that, while a nice idea, you need to put more thought into balance. For example, the demolitions and infiltration classes are VERY overpowered. Autoshotgun? Homing rockets? Sticky cluster grenades? Weapon disabling combined with a whole host of disorienting equipment and the second most powerful close quarters weapons AND a beefed up melee? AND spawning with ALL of this from the get-go? And by contrast, some perks are nearly useless, like health packs when the game has energy shields as the primary health bar, and still standing, which would be only useful if you were caught by a random stray grenade. Also imagine half the players on a given team spawning with a bubble shield. You could make an invincible wall of bubbles.

Here is an example. GTA 4 changed the GTA gameplay formula and guess what? It was successful with many of the new fans but Rockstar essentially alienated many of there previous fanbase. Many people liked GTA for its arcade style but GTA 4 is now a third person shooter and extremely realistic. Everything that made a large portion of the previous fans like the game was gone. So yes Bungie would sell plenty of copies of a class based Halo but they would be replacing many of the old fans with new ones. That's just bull-blam!-.

“It is not easy to see how the more extreme forms of nationalism can long survive when humanity have seen the Earth in its true perspective as a single small globe against the stars.”
Arthur C. Clarke

i must say that this was some impressive work and very well donel.
The assult class is too OP, Battel rifle and assult rifle? that´s very power full class.. Would be better whit a pistol insted of the assult rifle. After all this is you´r ide.

The sniper class is very very beautiful.

And i truly like the Heavy/spartan class, bloodyhell.

Hope that Bungie will look this up and will make this whit the game.

I think this might work better.

You can play this with up to 100 players per side, or by yourself with AI buddies taking their place. You must complete objectives to progress in the gametype and can pick any map you want. Also, here are the classes in which the choose from:

Heavy Class
UNSC: Enhanced MJOLNIR Mk. IV-Armored SPARTAN-II Commando
Covenant: Hunter
Weapons (UNSC): AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun (Primary); M19 SSM (Secondary)
Weapons (Covenant): Beam Assault Cannon (Primary); Fuel Rod Assault Cannon (Secondary)
Advantages: Have more health than other units; take more damage; have stronger weapons; shields (Hunter only); effect AA and AV units; takes the least fall damage.
Disadvantages: Slow; can't jump as high; when they grab health packs little health is gained; can't pick up other weapons (Hunter only).

Scout class
UNSC: MJOLNIR Mk. V/ Stealth Varient-Armored SPARTAN-II Commando
Covenant: Elite Stalker
Weapons (UNSC): M7S SMG (Primary); M6C/ SOCOM (Secondary).
Weapons (Covenant): Type-25 DER (Primary); Type-25 DEP (Secondary).
Advantages: When picking up health packs they gain more health than any other class besides the Sniper; can cloak; can deploy radar jammers; faster than the other classes besides the Sniper.
Disadvantages: Low health; take the most fall damage.

Soldier class
UNSC: MJOLNIR Mk. V-Armored SPARTAN-II Commando
Covenant: SpecOps Elite Commando
Weapons (UNSC): MA5B Assault Rifle (Primary); BR55 Battle Rifle (Secondary).
Weapons (Covenant): Type-25 DER (Primary); Type-51 Carbine (Secondary)
Advantages: All around class; best infantry unit for true skirmishes; only class to use assault rifles and battle rifles (excluding the Elite Stalker, SPARTAN-II Medic, and Sniper class).
Disadvantages: Takes moderate fall damage; can make other classes useless if the BR55 doesn't have a single shot firing mechanism.

Medic class
UNSC: MJOLNIR Mk. V-Armored SPARTAN-II Commando
Covenant: Undetermined
Weapons (UNSC): MA5B Assault Rifle (Primary); Combat Knife (Secondary).
Weapons (Covenant): Undetermined
Advantages: Can administer health to other classes; same as Soldier class.
Disadvantages: Same as Soldier class.

Sniper class
UNSC: Orbital Drop Shock Trooper
Covenant: Jackal Marksman
Weapons (UNSC): Sniper Rifle System 99C-S2 AM (Primary); BR55 Battle Rifle (Secondary)
Weapons (Covenant): Type-50 Sniper Rifle System (Primary); Type-51 Carbine (Secondary)
Advantages: Same as the Scout class excluding active camo.
Disadvantages: Same as the Scout class.

If anyone wants to help me find the Covenant Medic class (besides the Engineer), please that would really be nice.

I desperately, DESPERATELY hope Halo never becomes a Class game. All Class-based games turn into boring, repetitive slugfests. Halo NEEDS to keep that crazed sense of modularity.

You should have the ability to change your starting weapons to a certain degree, I'm tired of respawning with just a battle rifle or an assault rifle. At least change the styles, For example Human-AR-BR, Elite-plasma rifle-carbine, grunt-who wants to play as a grunt? They look like alien packmules.
