Well, simply put, I was kinda new to modding a while ago (CAMPAIGN ONLY, I'm not a Multiplayer hacker or anything) and I didn't back up a campaign map when I edited it. It was Metropolis, one of my favorite levels of the campaign. Now, it crashes whenever I try to load it. What I want to know is, would someone mind sending me a clean version of the campaign map so I can play it again? The file is under Halo 2, then Maps, then New Mombasa. And before you say it, I don't want to uninstall for fear of losing my saved data, custom maps, and other Campaign mods that I actually didn't mess up.

If someone could just PM me with the level, it'd be a great help.

Also, if mentioning mods is forbidden here, I can always edit those sections out of the post.

Something smells fishy...

I'm not sure what the Halo 2 Vista campain saved files look like. But you should copy your campain "saved file" to an external hard drive or DVD disk. Essenstially back up your saved games. Then uninstall then reinstall the game. After that place the saved game files back in their place and if it asks you "do you want to overwrite the existing files" click yes.

Don't take my word for it.........But I read your post and did some googling and couldn't find and answer to your problem so I came up with my own solution.

It might work. It has a good chance.

Well, the files should just be in the Halo 2 folder (in Program Files, then Microsoft Games) Once you're in the Halo 2 folder, look for the folder called Maps. Then, the file's called "03b_newmombasa". Just upload it to a filesharing website and send me the link in a PM.

That'd probably be a lot easier than the way you said. My main problem is I'm not sure where my saved data, custom files, and etc. are, and don't want to lose the things I need to play the game.
