I was watching the first mission from another thread and I found that a shoot from another ODST pod hit the rookies pod. This could be why he woke up six hours later because his pod got hit before the crash. It could also be why he ended up far away from his squad. This is because when the shoot hit him he flew to the opposite end of the pod thus turning the controls making him crash into a building and be far away from his squad.

I think you'll find that the pod colliding with him didn't knock him out, as he held onto the safety levers after the collision. A more likely reason is that the collision with the ground, having not been able to activate the thrusters to slow him down, would have knocked him out. After all, the Carrier emitted an EMP after rupture, which shut off most of the ODST's systems.

Im afraid someone already has seen this. it 99% chance someone did but it's kinda common sense so nobody posted it.

I know it didn't knock him out I mean that could be a reason why he was knocked out for 6 hours because he got hit before the crash.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Say what? You just contradicted yourself.

Like dropship dude said, the crash landing is the likely reason he got knocked out. Being hit in the air could've definitely knocked him to where he landed, but it didn't knock him unconscious.

As the squad dropped toward the ground, instead of landing onto the Covenant ship, Dare changed the squad's course towards the ONI Alpha Base on New Mombasa. Unfortunately, moments before they were meant to hit the ground, the Carrier jumped into Slipspace, generating a massive shockwave and an EMP, scattering the pods all around the city. The Rookie's pod in particular was slammed by Mickey's pod, cracking the pod's window and plunging it into free-fall.

Six hours later, The Rookie slowly woke up in his pod, in the occupied city center of New Mombasa. The city's urban infrastructure AI, the Superintendent, had been monitoring him and waiting for him to wake up. - From Halopedia

I know the crash knocked him out, but Mickeys pod hitting him could be a reason why the crash knocked him out for so long because the rookies pod was damaged before the crash. That better?

Much less contradicting. But the EMP blast is probably the main reason his pod was damaged. Sure, Mickey or whoever's pod that hit him certainly didn't help.
