omg not realistic stop game production plz
Last time I thought this theory up, it was in a completely different topic and was off-topic. Therefore I couldn't really get it out to people. This time, I'm refining it and publishing it properly.
The Statement
The Pillar of Autumn is Noble 1.
How?
If you remember, the commander voice is calling for "Noble 1" but to no avail. So where is Noble One? Actually I'll tell you why Noble One is the Pillar of Autumn.
The Commander states that he "needs" Noble 1 in "that fight". I think the fight he's reffering to is the desperate space battle going on, considering that the orbital defense grid was being taken down due to Covenant troops disabling the generators. So therefore, Noble 1 is most likely a ship.
The Pillar of Autumn is NOT the strongest ship the UNSC has. But if you read about the Autumn on Halopedia it is stated that the Autumn had an unusually powerful armament compared to other cruisers. So the PoA was most likely vital in the defense (if you remember in Halo CE, in the cutscene after the first level, the PoA is seen to be able to take multiple plasma missile hits and survive).
There's a problem with your theory dude
Yes you may have spotted it. You will most likely notice that PoA was meant to be capturing a Prophet soon, and the Commander should've expected the Autumn not to be there. Well Reach takes place a day BEFORE this special mission. Therefore the mission would have been postponed because of the invasion, and the PoA expected to fight to aid defence. But Cortana made a blind jump to save the ship and Master Chief (onboard). Arriving at....Halo!!!
Please feel free to discuss, but I'm going to be afk for a while.
