during the halo:reach tralier they show you the dead, spartan 2, james, i think who died when him chief and linda, tried to clear the nav records off an orbital station...this i feel has no significane what so ever, other than to comply with canon in the book and to set the time period of the battle of reach
now here is my theory... if somehow halsay and ackerson were kept completely in the dark about the spartan 2 class 2 project, then... the sierra 320, and serria 259, u here in the trailer are in fact the next group of spartan 2's.... also proveded sierra stands for SPARTAN, still to be certified!!
it is mentioned about a new UNSC bomb, called the NOVA bomb, with a massive magnitude of nuclear power, this was mentioned in the first strike, i do believe, when john returns after the events of Halo:ce, whereby reach is still standing, with a small patch of land, where cheif finds some of his spartans and admiral whitcomb, who explains to cheif about the NOVA bombs. one was set off at Joyous exultation, but say there was a few others
this is where it gets complicated, and sort of along the lines of fan fiction.. but in the books;
Nova-1 is mentioned in the trailer at the end, presuming this means NOVA bomb team 1 and "this is sierra-320, ready for combat insertion" pieces the two together, i get spartans boarding a covenant vessels with nova bombs, to take back to their homeworld, and only spartans are capable of such a job...
my theory would be that the game has you getting your way to sanghellios, or some other homeworld, and you set off the bomb. then after you have done this and the end of halo3, when the rest of the sanghlli's return to discover what remains of their world, they continue the war
the only thing that could contradict this theory is that at the end of the trailer, we hear "this is sierra 259, we got spartans on the ground, were not going anywhere" indicating they didnt leave reach, but maybe sierra 320 did, who knows
care to share your thoughts??
