What about it?

  • 07.03.2009 1:36 PM PDT

I understand, but the complaints come against people who just don't understand, basically, what halo is.

I say we just wait until we know some basics so then we can speculate from there.

I agree with you but Halo has a pretty distinctive play feel. And it has, admittedly, gotten a bit stale. And it is a confirmed FPS. I welcome some new, even radical changes. Let it be what Halo 1 was for console fps. That said, I like the run and gun of the game. I don't want it to feel tactical. I play CoD or GoW to play a tactical game, where strategy and teamwork is key.(I'm not saying they are inferior. They kick ass the same amount.) I play Halo to feel like a mother-blam!- badass that kills aliens.

  • 07.03.2009 1:45 PM PDT

To the guy above me. I understand, and that play style can still be left untouched as other aspects of the game are improved.

This is what I'm saying. Let it be as revolutionary as Halo 1 was.

Thank you Nick south.

Exactly. Like lets have real gun sounds, a map editor like in Far Cry. Let us fly Pelicans, let us hold our gun down, or have no weapon at all (custom games only).

Basically, I think that Halo: Reach should take every awesome aspect from other games, and "Halo-ize" it.

I agree 100%. We need some new this time. It's no fun paying £50 for the same game, I tell ya. Why do people want the same game? If they want it to be the same so much they might as well just stick with the one they have now.

Seeing as Bungie was not part of Microsoft when Halo:CE was in production and is not currently not owned by Microsoft, thereby giving them complete and total control of the creative process. You see what I'm getting at. I am completely confident Bungie will follow through.

I'm not American and I think bringing classes into the game is a ridiculous idea. I never understood why they have higher levels in CoD with better weapons, it's unfair. Halo is superior in that way.

And FYI, this isn't in the future. It's set a few days or weeks before Combat Evolved. Why would we want the same match making system? Because it's the best and all the others fail. Why do we want the same forge? It could be tweaked, but Forge is a very solid aspect of Halo 3.

And yes, we are keeping in the past, because the game is set in the past. Wisen up.

Oh, and for the racist, unneeded comment, report and move on.

I don't think you understand. We are not wanting a Call of Duty style Halo, we just want a totally new gameplay experience set in the Halo universe. Sure, maybe taking a few gameplay features from CoD such as cooking grenades wouldn't hurt, but we just don't like the idea of paying full price for a game that brings nothing new compared to it's previous game, when we already have a game that does the exact same stuff.

What was racist?
He's just bashing people, nothing in the post has anything to do with the race of the people he's bashing on.

Well, I don't see what's so bad about Halo 3. Sure, a few extra features would be nice, but I think for the most part Halo is a winning formula.

If we could have one thing, I'd want a dialogue wheel like in Mass Effect. But people would hate that.

Halo is still owned by Microsoft, and while Bungie are working on this, it's up to Microsoft what happens, what date it's released, how much it will be, etc. However, you're mostly right. Bungie will be given more "breathing space" now that they have separated from Microsoft, which is good for us, the fans. It means Bungie will have more time to listen to us than Microsoft, haha.

Every single time an idea that is different from the past Halo games you people react like this:

"GtFo u noob, this r Halo"

....

If you don't want a new game, then GTFO, because you people are keeping us in the past.

How is what you're doing any different?

But you see where I'm going with this. A game that's near enough the same, just with a few tweaks here and there and a few added weapons seems more like an expansion pack than a completely new game. Just look at other games. Metal Gear Solid, Elder Scrolls and many more games have improved, while still feeling the "same" they were undeniably very different compared to their prequels.

Actually no. You don't get better weapons, you get NEW weapons.

And FYI, this isn't in the future. It's set a few days or weeks before Combat Evolved. Why would we want the same match making system? Because it's the best and all the others fail. Why do we want the same forge? It could be tweaked, but Forge is a very solid aspect of Halo 3.
Set in the future as in 500 years from now.

The match making system is skewed. The worst part is that if people leave, others can't join in (social only). CoD4 match making is amazing.

Forge is like playing with legos, but you are limited to a certain building space.

And yes, we are keeping in the past, because the game is set in the past. Wisen up.

Oh, and for the racist, unneeded comment, report and move on.

Touchy huh? I'm American.
