I don't know about anyone else, but my self, I am awestruck by the price of Halo 3: ODST. I am pretty sure that Bungie said that it would only be a $30 - $40 value. Now, here in Canada, $69.99.
I mean WHAT?! I know it's not Bungie's fault, they didn't intend on ODST growing to such a size that it did, Microsoft set the price, but seriously. Why would an add-on and 3 new maps be $70? Regardless, I still pre-ordered it from EB Games.

I am, as the topic says, outraged? Are you?

10$ New maps
--------------------------
60$

And besides, Microsoft makes the price. Not Bungie

It is definetly not $70 dollars Canadian . You must be converting that wrong. It will be $60 dollars in Canada.

I am not, I think its fine. Oh and by the way, Microsoft determines the pricing for ODST not Bungie.

  • 07.03.2009 4:33 PM PDT

They meant in american dollars. As the price in america is 60 dollars, the exchange rate comes into play...now when they stated the price would be $30-40 there was no firefight mode, and with it's addition an increase in price. also, who wasn't expecting this? It's Micro$oft!

No. I believe that along with the Beta, Firefight, new maps, and campaign, spending 60 dollars is justifiable based on the time I will spend playing.

Well it comes with a second disk that has all of the map packs, and its campaign is longer than it used to be, you get firefight and that will have great replay ability. Last but not least you get to play the halo reach beta if thats not worth 60 bucks then I don't know what is.

I am beginning to realize the point you all are making. It's just, I was expecting a cheaper price. My EB Games charged $69.99.

Non facete nobis calcitrare vestrum perinæum.

It's fair. To be honest it's one hell of an add on lol. You get a new campaign that looks really fun, firefight, reach beta, and all the maps plus 3 new ones. I don't mind paying 60 bucks for it. And hell you can rent it if you don't think it's worth buying.

I'll put it this way. If you have enough money to pay for electricity bills, an Xbox 360, Xbox Live, Internet, and a previously $40 dollar game, you can afford the extra $20 dollars.

I don't mind paying the extra $20.00, but it came a giant shock to hear to hear it. By the way, I am younger 18 and don't have work. I basically have to live off of an allowance. (Haha) money isn't as easy to come by as one would like.

Well, I heard on the Podcast that Bungie originally planned for ODST to not be a 60 dollar title.

However, Bungie realized how much ODST has grown than what it originally was. Then Microsoft decided that there was enough content to slap a $60 price on it... and here we are.

Part time jobs may sound like a lot of work, but damn do they pad the pocket. Get yourself one and you'll be able to afford all the games you want.

Alright, I'm almost 16 and many stores don't hire until you're 16. *Sighs*

  • 07.03.2009 4:46 PM PDT

I'm gonna buy it but I agree that 60$ is kind of outrageous for what was advertised as an add on.

Thats the problem with most people. I'm fifteen, almost sixteen, and have several part time jobs. I say several because one was a seasonal job.

60 bucks is no big deal for me, its well worth it.

Being an Elite is its own reward.

Campaign: $20
Halo 3 Multiplayer: $30
All DLC Maps $30
Firefight: $20
Halo Reach Beta: $20

=$120

Bungie's giving us a deal. Half off!

And imagine how much work is going/gone into ODST, all the maps, and the beta!

I thought Bungie had said it would be in the $40 price range as well since they didn't consider it a full game so I was slightly disappointed to see if will cost just as much as any other new release. I could care less about Firefight, of course I haven't played it so who knows, but the Halo Reach Beta makes it more than worth the price.

But really, a lot of work goes into this stuff. Are you guys not happy with all the maps, firefight, and beta? Its more than we thought was going into there before. It amazes me that you guys still complain. Its going to be awesome to see the multiplayer of Reach too.

stop complaining what if it was the price of halo 3?80$ 40 dollar difference and they could of put it there and its a great deal for 60$

  • 07.03.2009 4:57 PM PDT

Yes, with all the features this could be considered a game itself, it comes with a multiplaer disk, campaign, new fire fight. I't literally a game in itself so, YES, WORTH 60$ (65 since I pre-ordered :P

One, Multiplayer isn't new, Crack down didn't charge for Halo 3's beta, We're not getting all of the DLC maps, just the origional ones and mythic part 2. so $10.00. Also, Microsoft is making the prices. That leaves you with $50.00, not $120.00

EDIT: I'm not complaining, just saying that I, myself, find that the price is a little much. I'm still paying for it. The add-ons will be great, no doubt. They put alot of work into it, no doubt. I am just saying that when they said, around $30 - $40, that's what I was expecting. Damn you Microsoft!
