I'm not outraged. Sure I was a little dissapointed when I saw the price but it's not like I'm gonna start a hissy fit over it.

why are you looking at this?

I'm not, it seems quite fair.

campaign- $20
firefight- $20
recon opportunities- $10
3 new maps- $10
halo reach beta- $5
H1 pistol + silent scoped smg- $5
5+5+10+10+20+20=70

Campaign: $20
Halo 3 Multiplayer: $30
All DLC Maps $30
Firefight: $20
Halo Reach Beta: $20

=$120

Bungie's giving us a deal. Half off!

And imagine how much work is going/gone into ODST, all the maps, and the beta!

One, Multiplayer isn't new, Crack down didn't charge for Halo 3's beta, We're not getting all of the DLC maps, just the origional ones and mythic part 2. so $10.00. Also, Microsoft is making the prices. That leaves you with $50.00, not $120.00

The Beta is WORTH it though. But true. Crackdown did not charge.
Even if multiplayer isn't new, its still included, and its worth money. If you made a car part that was used in one car, when you updated the car to a 2010 model, would you not charge for all the pieces in the car, old or new?
All 24 maps will be included. That's all DLC and all original.
With all this, and a campaign that was longer than Bungie anticipated, this is a game, and not an expansion.

IM A LEGIT 16

Guys, face it, it is overpriced. They just marketed it with every map pack to bump up the price, knowing the majority of people still have the maps (while pressuring people to buy them in Matchmaking).

I think it is a fair price, but it was marketed in a scummy way.
And the guys saying Campaign = $30 and etc, you're way overpricing the content.

A lot goes into a campaign. Writing, design, dialogue, and execution.
Mulitplayer includes: Matchmaking, Forge, Custom Games, Theater

I must disagree. The new weapons would have came with firefight and campaign. so -$5.00. Halo Reach beta, it didnt cost extra for that Halo 3 beta in Crackdown. so -$5.00. Recon Opportunites, Recon itself is free. It'd be ridiculous to charge for something that was free and in the game origionally. so -$10.00. We're now down to $50.00 ( Your currency )

Yes, but there are more than 3 maps included. +$10 (Mythic 1 and Legendary). Now we're back up to $60. Plus Halo 3's multiplayer =$20-$30. The price comes to between $80 to $90.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

You really have to step back and consider the bigger picture from Bungie's (and Microsoft's) perspective. They aren't just marketing this game to those of us who bought the maps. There's a whole group of Halo players that wont or cant get the maps because they dont have LIVE. They have to market and package the game to the largest audience possible. The way they did it covers those with LIVE and those without and the 60 dollar price tag is the only price to have considering all of that.

Some people want two versions. one without the maps and one with them. Making a package for just the maps and a package for just ODST is more expensive to do than to have two discs in one package. It's the cheapest way and covers the largest amount of people. It also ensures a greater profit seeing as those who have the maps will kind of be paying for them again. It's a smart move. You may not like it, but as a business, it really is best.

The only reason people complain about it is because your a consumer and you think it should be marketed to you. Some people seem to not be able to grasp it from a business or someone without LIVE's perspective.

Also, I was unaware that it came with Heroic, Legendary, Cold Storage, Mythic Part 1 & 2. I must admit though, the conviniance of it all on one disc is worth some money, but am unsure if it actually is. I hope Bungie can clearify this.

The 3 new maps were included. Why would I pay for Halo 3's multiplayer a second time? Multiplayer itself doesn't cost any money when it's already there. So we're still at $50.00

Also, I was unaware that it came with Heroic, Legendary, Cold Storage, Mythic Part 1 & 2. By the way. Why would I pay for it if I already own it? I must admit though, the conviniance of it all on one disc is worth some money, but am unsure if it actually is. I hope Bungie can clearify this.

Yeah, you see, not everyone has LIVE. So giving maps to offliners would appeal to more people.

Right because a 5-6 hour campaign,New mode Firefight, Theater mode and a new Halo: Reach beta is definatley an expansion. (Sarcasm)

Actually, being an open world game of sorts means it doesn't really have set time. If you speed through it, it's 5-6 hours, (supposedly) but if you roam around the city it could be considerably longer.

Thanks for helping me understand this better guys. (Not Sarcastic) I am still young and jump to conclusions too quickly. So with all of DLC Maps,$30 to $50 itself, a new campaign, and a new multiplayer mode, $70.00 doesn't sounds as ridiculous as it did at first. It sounds not bad too those who don't have XBL. It's just too bad the don't have a version for those who do have it. (Joking, I know, it's a marketing plan)

Your welcome. I'm still young too :). I was outraged at the price first too, but all in all, its worth it. I think if they wanted too, Bungie could charge more!

Add me on LIVE. We'll play some Firefight. I'm gonna try to preorder the game today.
