Seeing how Sgt. Johnson is appearing in Firefight and the fact that ODSTs can use Gravity Hammers and rip turrets off their mounting, should Elites appear as enemies AT LEAST in Firefight?

not just firefight but in the campaign (at least in flashbacks when arbitor still had not yet met master cheif [the difference from the flashbacks to where rookie is would be a couple hours in which the inner covanent civil war was the most likely to start *thinking about H2 timeframe*])

I'd like to fight brutes and elites at the same time I don't think that's ever happened a Halo game.

That's why he mentioned Johnson being in firefight.

Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of Modern Warfare 3 on my Turtle Beaches.

Before I get pelted by all the people who say Elites aren't in ODST, I just want to express my opinion on this topic and how Bungie could assess making Firefight better.

I think Elites should appear every five or ten waves, making them relatively rare/uncommon compared to the Brutes. When Elites appear, the likelihood of seeing Grunts and Hunters is increased while the likelihood of Jackals and Drones is decreased slightly, (a little nod at the Covenant Separatists), and obviously, Brutes won't be present during "Elite" waves.

As I said earlier, since Johnson is appearing, why can't Elites? In Canon, the Elites are at Delta Halo. Since Johnson is in "ODST" armor and the fact that ODSTs can wield Gravity Hammers and rip turrets off their mounting, you can say Firefight is "non-canon" so in my opinion, it is possible for the Elites to appear in ODST at least in Firefight. Putting Elites in ODST would increase the variety of enemies and useable weapons. For example, if Elites were in Firefight, the purple Plasma Rifle would be encountered a bit more and you could use the Energy Sword.

Now, basically, the Elite ranks should basically be the same from Halo 2, but only Minors, Majors, Ultras, Zealots, Rangers, and Stealth Elites should be present, with slightly updated looks (for Rangers and Stealth only). They would basically fill the role of the Brutes for one wave, then you return to fighting the Brutes until five or ten waves have passed.

Here is my take on how Elites would act:
Minors: Blue Combat Armor. Wield Plasma Rifles, Needlers, or Carbines. Seen leading Grunts and being led by Major Elites.

Majors: Red Combat Armor. Wield same weapons as Minors and lead them into combat.

Ultras: White Combat Armor. Wield Carbines, Fuel Rod Cannons, Plasma Rifles, or Energy Sword, but it is rare to see an Ultra with a sword in Firefight.

Zealot: Gold Combat Armor, act as the "Brute Chieftain." Wield Energy Swords or Fuel Rod Cannons. Stronger than any other Elite and can withstand a lot of fire. Leads Elite forces.

Ranger: Appearance based on the Halo 2 Elite Ranger, just improved. Act as "Jump Pack Brutes." Only wield Plasma Rifles and stay in flight using jetpacks.

Stealth: Bungie should develop new armor for the Stealh, but not based on the Assault Harness from Halo 3. A hybrid of the Commando Armor and Combat Armor would be nice, possibly a prototype of the Commando Armor. Act as "Brute Stalker." Wield Plasma Rifle or Energy Sword, extremely rare to encounter one with an Energy Sword though.

All Elites use Plasma Grenades and can man Plasma Turrets and rip them off their mounting.

The AR is an awesome weapon, RESPECT IT AS SUCH!!!

it would make sense that elites can be in firefight since johnny and grav hammers and turrets are in it......

Came in 10th place in team MELEE !!!!

No because the elites helped us in Halo 3 so why would they be enemies?

I am the man with no name, Zapp Brannigan, at your service.

I got a bullet with your name on it and i'm gonna' keep on firing until i figure out which one it is!

Elites were much better foes than the brutes, i would like to see them in firefight, since it's non-canon

Wrong. The Elites are at Delta Halo with the Prophet of Regret. ODST takes place during the events of Halo 2 but directly lead into Halo 3. Regret would be killed, and then the separation of the Elites would start to take place.

Also, I said the Elites should be enemies in Firefight, not the Campaign, and since Firefight is non-canon, Elites could be enemies. I'd rather fight all of the enemies from the Halo trilogy in Firefight than five (not including Prophets).

People suck

Wow, I hadn't thought about this yet. I suppose, according to the timeline, the elites were still enemies of humanity. So yeah.

Yes if you can decide to turn on brutes or elites as enemies as another option. I also think they wont do this because they would have to make a ton of new animations for the elites.

All Halo Achievements Complete!

+1

I would love to see elites in firefight...really wish the story arc had a faction of separatist elites that fought with the brute in H3 so we could have continued to play against them.

i highly doubt that elites will be in th game firefight missions but i can see bungi put them in a dlc firefight mission

DLC? As in Elites specifically appearing in certain Firefight maps? That would be weird of Bungie to do, but possible, yet, I don't think that would go well.

I wouldn't mind if ODST is delayed to include Elites in Firefight. Also, why can't ODSTs dual-wield in Firefight if they can wield Gravity Hammers? I see that the suppressed SMG and possibly the pistol might not or be dual-wieldable, but I wouldn't mind.

I mean, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was delayed twice and Smash Bros. fans pushed for Sonic to be in the game, and look, Sonic's in Brawl. I would actually prefer ODST's date to be pushed back so that gameplay would be better, specifically Firefight, which I'm looking forward to.

Ok, I respect your opinion and all but three things:

1.) What did you think of the Elites in Halo: CE and Halo 2? They weren't on the Human's side until the end of Halo 2, where the Arbiter defeated Tartarus with help from humans like Johnson.

2.) How would the addition of Elites ruin Firefight? You're getting another enemy and exclusive weapons like the Energy Sword. Plus, I mentioned Elites would be encountered less commonly then the Brutes, satisfying your need, they don't appear often compared to the Brutes.

3.) Some people prefer to fight the Elites over the Brutes. This would at least satisfy their needs. I believe that to be true, the Brutes weren't great in Halo 2 gameplay-wise and in Halo 3, they were a bit easy, even on Legendary.

I like the Elites, they're a cool species. It's just that I never fought Elites as enemies and Halo Wars didn't satisfy that need, so why can't they at least appear in ODST?

In Halo 2 it was more of:
Brutes Vs Elites
Brutes Vs Humans
Humans Vs Elites
Grunts = Confused? (jokes)

I would suggest if Elites were to be implemented, that they would have their own waves.
You can't have an Elite leader with Brute followers. It just doesn't work. And a Brute leader with Elite followers just won't cut it either. So why not have specific waves of Elites or Brutes?

I just thought I would mention I would like to fight the Flood in Firefight too I just think it's not really going to be all it could be without throwing as many different enemies as possible at you and adding Elites+Flood would definitley spice things up a bit
