It's kinda simple why they are so weak.
They were used as fodder or as a distraction however they could easily take out any human (In the books)

But in the games they are just used for minor resistance and on Legendary...>.> Yeah...

Realistically, there should be less weapons and enemies in Halo: Reach than Halo 3, and Grunts are no exception.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Less weapons and enemies? There were a lot of enemies on the ground of Reach. I don't know about weapons but since it is a military stronghold, I'd assume they had plenty of weapons and probably a bunch of prototype weapons.

I wouldn't agree with you there completely. There should actually be more enemies but less of a variety of weapons due to the fact that they are on Reach.
Reach was under heavy fire by Covenant because they sent in plenty of forces just to take it.Plus back then they still had the Elites.
By Halo 3 I think The covenant was worn down due to the fact that they lost a good species and that they had to send the Brutes out with less and less training to combat the UNSC since the Elites were gone.
So it would only makes sense for their to be more enemies.

Not really. You barely kill one thousand Covenant during any of the three campaigns from any of the three games. There are at least 100,000 Covenant forces on Reach. We should generally have the same number.

Cortana also states in Halo 2 that the fleet that attacked Reach was three times the size of the fleet moving towards Earth. (My source is the first mission in Halo2.)

If not more...I think it would be fun to crank the number up by a few K's xD

Sure you can update them, but this thread is very vague. Update what? Their graphics or abilities?

You misunderstood me guys. I meant less variety of weapons and enemies, such as no Drones or Brutes, no BR or Spiker, etc.

Drones Im not sure about.
But Brutes will undoubtedly be there and may I say thankfully in less numbers.
The Brutes should go back to being fully trained (Like in Halo 2) and a bit more of a challenge.
But yes there will most likely be less of a quantity with the Brutes.
I do agree with the weapons thing but you never know what Reach could have in store for us...

Well that makes more sense, although my reasoning for as many weapons still stands. Also, we know there was a BR like weapon (if not a BR) being prototyped on Reach. The Spartans in CASTLE base found and used them.

What about, grunts with laser guides coming from high-tech helmet on their head and they have miniguns. Oh yeah, and they wear clown masks...

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

I would like to see a grunt whos only mission is to steal items that you might need, then they would run away and pile up the items somewere really anoying. Or if deseration calls, just throw it of a cliff.

EDIT: the satisfaction of killing one of them would be so high.

Well we already have suicide grunts, what else could their be? They are simply cannon fodder. Grunts can't be snipers or use camo, they really can't have a specialized role. Although it would be cool to see them do more. Maybe take the whole suicide grunt thing further and actually have a special vehicle designed for suicide bombing. Elites could be more willing o push them into oncoming fire to protect themselves. Then we could have bullet sponge grunts.
