Subject: Why no matchmaking in Firefight?!

I've never read anything about matchmaking not being possible for firefight before this thread.
I always assumed they would put it in because it seems like the logical thing to do.

Really why wouldn't they put it in?I remember a poll on these forums asking if they wanted matchmaking in for firefight and the vast majority answered yes.

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

allready made a thread about this

There are many many threads on this. To the OP invite your friends, OR BETTER YET make a group on Bungie.net that pairs people up for firefight.

First of all Bungie, didn't call it a full priced game. Microsoft made it a full priced game considering how much content is coming with the game..you know Halo 3 multiplayer and ODST and really it should be more than $60..so just be glad it's priced as a normal game.

To be or not to be... Meh, who cares, let's go drinking

i agree L05T

also to the person who said it's their job, not you L05T
sure it's their job, but they don't have to make firefight or another game for the 360, be happy that they are, and is it so hard to invite a couple of friends?

also, yeah, its "inconvenient" when your friends aren't on, then go play around in forge, or on the new halo 3 maps that come with the game. It's a good package.

Also I'm done with this thread, as it's one of those, someones not gonna agree

actually i agree on the OP on this one, i mean this was very lazy for Bungie not to add Matchmaking in Campaign and Firefight, since firefight is all about co-op this was a very retarded not to add it. I mean Gears 1 ,2 have matchingmaking for both campaign AND horde mode.

Also i was also going to make a thread about this. This issue needs to be payed attention, its ok when all my friends ( Real life friends ) are online, but when they not, you have to go to a painstaking invite spree, you spend hours of your life staring at the lobby screen waiting for people to come waiting for people to join, some people also playing different games so they wont come.

This was a very bad issue in Halo 3 campaign. Also very suprised it hasnt been added in Halo 3 ODST , very dissapointing. I guess we need to look at a new lobbie screen for tedious amount of time, where if it had matchingmaking , you will be good to go in no time.

And for the people to Sticking up for Bungie, i mean its ok to find faults in them, you dont need to suck up to them everytime. They wont give you recon, so please stop. This is a clear issue, and i dont see why it wouldn't have it. Just incase you cant hook up a party. #

Halo 3 ODST Firefight No matching = Lame ( Many other games have this )

Seriously Bungie! If you are going to call Halo 3: ODST a full game priced at $60, then couldn't you have atleast implemented matchmaking into Firefight? I can understand why matchmaking wouldn't work in Campaign, but it would work perfectly for Firefight. I really think the "Firefight is built off the old campaign model" is a bad excuse for a game that is considered to be MORE than an expansion. Couldn't you have been bothered to improve the campaign model so it could support matchmaking? Or ATLEAST make it compatible with the custom games model which is already used by matchmaking? When a product is considered to be a full stand-alone game, it's only fair to assume there won't be any limitations with the old Halo 3 engine.

Discuss
u think, u think,u think, but you not do, stfu they cant do it and thats it

I've been posting on these forums for quite a while now (despite my member title) and yet still they astound me.

I think The Omen said it best. How can the choice to play with randoms be anything other than a good thing? Personally, I would prefer to play with my friends, but in a year's time, when I finish The Elder Scrolls V and decide to play a bit of ODST, a MM system would be extremely useful.

so what are you going to do if, you have no friends who have odst or they arnt online, and you want to play firefight. well theres an easy solution

MATCHMAKING IN FIREFIGHT!
you dumb -blam!-

Matchmaking would force you to play with random people, unless you bring three people. That could lead to playing with three idiots that don't do anything except waste lives. This is better in the long run. Just invite some people.

You have a brain. /sarcasm

How can the choice of matchmaking be anything but a good thing? Your argument fails, because you are not forced to play matchmaking. Custom will and always exist!

I have to agree, the lack of Matchmaking is extremely annoying. Once ODST comes out this forum is gonna be flooded with threads asking for players. It'll at that moment when Bungie realises how stupid they. Seriously, what a bunch of idots!

i dont think no one can say it better then this also his a honourable member and his not sucking up to Bungie. Agreed

The argument of they should have it in matchmaking is really ridiculous, be happy they're making a new game, if you don't like it don't buy it, but don't complain about it unless you understand how hard it is to make good code for matchmaking. Campaign is A LOT different from online Halo 3. It's not a simple, "Copy and paste this code to here".

This is the 'bullet-proof' Bungie suck-up comeback. I'm sick of it.

We will buy the game, because it will probably be good. That doesn't mean we can't ask for more. A game that is worth buying is not necessarily a game that cannot be improved upon.

Be happy they're making a new game? They're making it because it will earn them money. They're not making it out of the kindness of their hearts. That's like saying we should be happy that the government isn't executing people who do not follow their ideals and should not have the right to complain about issues with the economy. It's the job of the government to run the country, just as it is the job of Bungie to make games. It is expected of them.

Do you understand how hard it is to make a good 'Matchmaking code'? These people are professionals, and they could most certainly create a FFMM system.

wait - it IS xbox live compatible, is it not?

Yes, he's saying that it won't have a matchamking service. Like it won't have a system that will pair you up.

Also, Gosko, your "its a campaign-thing-whatever" argument is invalid. Horde has a MM service. Why would that have it and not Firefight?

Bungie is lazy and didn't add it, that's the only reason it doesn't have it. Don't try to justify it.

inb4Horde is not Firefight..

LOL

very nice post, i too am sick and tired of these Bungie suck ups, seriously you can sometimes complain about somthing in order for it to get heard and improved, firefight will be way better with matchmaking.

I've had an idea. Let Bungie create a new map. Then let Bungie attach it to Halo 3, call the 'game' Halo 3: Map, and sell it for $60. Fair? I don't think so. We get a lot of content, but the majority of it is content we have already bought.

I'd rather have three idiots to play with than no one when my friends are offline, none of my friends particuarly enjoy Halo 3 so I usually go into matchmaking by myself, I still enjoy the game and hardly ever get stupid team mates.
