if you go this way, then what about H2? elites and humans aren't allied yet, and yet you can play as both (in both mp and sp).
mp is not canonically accurate anyway (MC is the last surviving spartan, and yet there are hundreds of thousands spartans playing ...)
and yea, sorry for my aggressive behavior XD
but as said, in sp, you could have two campaigns that'd depict the same events from 2 perspectives. it wouldn't hurt, would it? it'd please (me) people that loved playing as a covenant in H2, and rednecks that think halo is a really cool guy.
Bungie can do whatever they choose to in campaign. To continue with this tiresome explanation of my original logic, at the end of Halo 2 the alliance between the Elites and the Humans is formed. If you played the campaign them moved on to the multiplayer then it actually made a lot of sense why they were in there. Based on what I've read here, there would be a lot of backlash if the MP lost Elites and that is why I suggested altering the model so that they would have the same hit boxes as the Spartans.
bungie also admitted that "elites are a favourite of players'". so elites won't be removed. it'd be a step backwards when you think of it, a feature that's been in 2 games and not the sequel.
altering the model would be difficult, afaik, both models have the same hitbox (unlike H2), the head is just placed differently (because of the elite anatomy).
