I have a question for Halo players.

How could different vehicle physics be improved?
Example: Wraith moves faster without boost

My idea: Bring back old Banshee physics from Halo Combat Evolved, since this took place before Combat Evolved.

I say we add more vehicles that have spikes on them and more vehicles that shoot spikes fro mtheir turrets.

A massive improvement would be to allow infantry to disable any vehicle (Except tanks and such) off of the spawn. It may take five or more clips depending on the vehicle, but it at least gives the player some sort of power when the other team has complete map control. It would also be nice to have my beloved first person perspective. :D

Not a physics thing, but bring back the Halo 1 Banshee sound effects. They sounded the best.

Put gear changing on human light vehicles such as Mongooses and Warthogs.

Bring back vehicle health, health would be affected by crashes and enemy fire. Or ally fire, if you have friendly fire turned on.

Include some vehicles from Halo Wars and some we've only ever heard of. Put the machine gun back on the Scorpion main turret and bring back Halo CE's Banshee with boost.

First-Person perspective whilst in a side seat would be great.

Ghosts need more speed, but they need to be slipperier.

Warthogs also need to slide more, but the speed is ok.

Create more Covenant vehicles and/or take out human ones. It doesnt make sense that a group of many races has less vehicles to choose from than a single race that (at the time) were screwed in the War. (this also applies to weapons.)

This is what makes the wraith, the wraith. It's motar fireis pretty crappy, so it has a boost to get out of sticky situations.

Why does everyone assume, "Since it is before Halo: CE it should be like Halo: CE"

I suppose you want a shotgun that can carry up to 36 bullets? No BR? Amazing zoom 3-shot pistol? No eltite player models? Fall damage? Health pack system? Horrible graphics? Huge assymetric levels?

Halo: Reach should be it's own Halo game.

All should have a "weak point" (larger vehicles should have more than one). Shoot the weak-spot to damage the vehicle, destroy the weak point to disable it (kind of like the gas tank on the Ghost in H2).

Well in the first Halo-

Player on foot + Skill + Grenades > Ghost or Warthog

Ghost or Warthog + Skill > Scorpion

Team work always allowed you to beat something.

I definitely agree with the Banshee stuff, the new sounds give me a headache. The gear changing not so much, who needs manual transmission in the future. Vehicle health would be nice, maybe, it depends.

I will address you individual points.
1) Because that's the time frame. Old weapons would be nice, it would be almost like a remake, but better.
2) Shotgun with 60 shells? Bring it! I personally thought that on large maps, it was useful in some situations, like big fights near Blood Gulch's teleporter, but was not a god gun.
3) No BR? -Blam- yeah! M6D would -blam!- the BR, I'm not kidding. About 3 shots per second, with a good aim, you could kill someone with 3 shots to the head. Why not bring back both so everyone stops whining?
4) I didn't say no Elites. Hell, maybe we we could find a way to implement Brutes as well.
5) Health packs? Maybe. For all it's worth, the community might like that.
6) "Horrible graphics" that were state-of-the-art. Bungie wouldn't do old graphics like that now. That is officially your interpretation of CE's graphics, not mine.
7) Huge asymmetric levels? Do I really need to comment on this? Those levels kicked some major ass, Blood Gulch's slight asymmetric gameplay was the BEST multiplayer map I've ever played, on any game. Those maps are great. Complain if you want.

8) This thread is about vehicles. Why don't you say what you'd like to be changed about vehicles.

Indeed. I hate how in Halo 2 and Halo 3 I can run away, let my shields recharge and then pwn a couple more enemies for an even bigger killing spree. It makes no sense that a busted vehicle still works since my shields are still full.

Definitely remove the stun after being boarded, but not so you can immediately re-board the vehicle.

That's the good stuff, I loved ambushing a Hog with a Ghost in CE, but you can't do that now. The Hog always wins now. I hope they make it so the Hog has less protection in Reach.

Listen to the man. He's an Intrepid Legendary Member! JK, but the Rocket Hog was more balanced, yes the Noob Tube on wheels was more balanced.
The Gauss is pretty much high speed noob tube.
Maybe Bungie should change it to a lower powered "Grenade Launcher Hog", not as powerful as a frag, but stronger than a Brute shot?

Cookieman, I didn't mean manual gear changing I just meant your character changing the gears automatically so you can get more speed out of the vehicle, because they only seem to keep it at the same gear at the moment. I can't imagine that being the Warthog's top speed.

I've always been wanting a flamethrower Warthog. I don't know why, but it would be balanced because you'd need to be close to the enemy to fry them. It would work well for heavy armour too. That way, you have the anti air Warthog to fend off Banshee attacks while the Flamethrower Warthog deals with the armour.

Now I get it, hearing them or seeing them change gears for more speed. Maybe you don't need gears in 2552. But the Mongoose already has it, you can hear it.
