Make it so the health of the vehicle depends on the vehicle's damange, not on the player's health. Don't make destroyed vehicles dissappear off the battlefield, they can provide good cover and it's more realistic.
Warthog: Not much complaint about the physics. The gun was beast in Halo: CE, wimpy in Halo 2, and they got it perfect in Halo 3. Make it toggleable for all of the occupants to switch between third and first person view.
Scorpion: Since this is before Halo: CE, it would make sense if Reach's Scorpion was like the first game's. Which sucked accuracy wise. Make it like Halo 2's tank, which could dominate but still be taken down by teamwork and firepower. Make it so players can ride on the treads like in Halo: CE. Halo 3's turret gunner is just silly.
Hornet: Halo 3's hornet is pretty satisfying.
Mongoose: Halo 3's Mongoose is pretty good, but I rarely use it.
Pelican: Let us fly it! Give it a huge multiplayer map for it's own use, if necessary. Or more than one map. Let the co-pilot use the chin gun, let six people ride in the back plus one rear gunner. I don't see why it's so hard.
Banshee: More heavy, like Halo: CE with the same sound effects.
Ghost: Halo: CE's Ghost's handling, to put it bluntly, sucked. Halo 2 or Halo 3's Ghosts were pretty decent. Maybe make the gas tank a weak spot again.
Wraith: Halo 2's Wraith was easiest to drive.
Specter: Bring the Specter back! I know it wasn't used very much in Halo 2 but it was one of the coolest vehicles!
