The Spiker in Halo 3 was a disappointment. Being a B.U.N.G.L.E. Professional, I regularly own MLG BR-whoring scrubs with my beloved Spiker in Matchmaking. Though it can be one of the most powerful close-range (and, with good aiming, long-range) weapons in the game, it's almost always left in the corner by ignorant, abusive players. We can't let this discrimination, this cruelty, this. . . hate, continue in Reach. Like any other Halo weapon, it deserves the right to being loved by its users.
The Spiker's brothers, the Sentinel Beam, Plasma Pistol, Plasma Cannon, Fuel Rod Cannon and Traffic Cone are all suffering from the same ignorance. If they need to be changed in order to get more attention, then so be it. Here's my idea for a Spiker remake (changes are underlined):
Halo 3 Spiker
Rounds Per Magazine - 40
Maximum Ammunition - Single-handed: 120 rounds; duel-wielded: 240 rounds
Rate of Fire - 8 rounds/second; 480 rounds/minute
Single-Handed Damage - 13 rounds to kill
Duel-Wielded Damage - 15 rounds to kill (while firing a single Spiker)
Accuracy - Avg. of 30/40 hits at Sandbox crypt length

Halo: Reach Spiker
Rounds Per Magazine - 40
Maximum Ammunition - Single-handed: 120 rounds; duel-wielded: 240 rounds
Rate of Fire - 6 rounds/second; 360 rounds/minute
Single-Handed Damage - 10 rounds to kill
Duel-Wielded Damage - 13 rounds to kill (while firing a single Spiker)
Accuracy - 38/40 rounds hit at Valhalla length
Reticle - Image
Other - no longer duel-wieldable
Good idea? Bad idea? Should it be left the same?
