Keep Halo as Halo. That is all I want. I didn't go out and buy any CoD games because its the same -blam!- over and over with slightly different graphics. CoD5 barely looks different from CoD2. That is sad.

When comparing Halo 2 and Halo 3 you definitely see a difference in looks and feel. I don't want classes, knives, cover system, or anything else that would in no way feel Haloesque. Halo is meant for a much more open battle. In Halo you need to take positions in order to win. The people asking for squad based Halo obviously never really tried to work with their teammates before.

I personally enjoy running to the weapon I want. No harm done. I go and I kill. Sure, in CoD I would have started with the weapon. But what if I wanted to change during battle. I have to either kill someone with the specific weapon I want or die and switch.

The weapons in CoD games don't even really differ from each other. MP44=AK47=SGT=Thompson=Type 100. They hardly do anything different. That is just sad.

Cover system is the dumbest idea I've ever heard for a Halo game. I'm a 7 foot super soldier with energy shields hiding behind a damn rock...

Even if you did need to take cover, all you have to do is run to the nearest thing big enough to hide you and crouch.

100% i completally agree

It seems people still need some common sense so time for a revive.

So full of hate were our eyes that none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead but never victory.
So let us cast our arms aside and like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe, whilst we find the path

agreed, Halo is a great game with its own mechanics,

Um all of what you stated was an opinion. Exactly like the people who post that they want this or that feature. I've been playing Halo since Halo 1 and i would personally like to see a class based Halo. Don't tell people what to think.

EDIT Title reminds me of a certain guy on youtube. ;)

And that's an opinion too. He wasn't telling people to change there opinions smart one. What he said actually made a lot of sense and he had good reasons for it. You shared no reason for why you wanted classes. Why, "because it's cool"? "Because I can't get a kill without the sword". Well, don't be shy, let's hear why.

The OP is definitely 100% correct even if it is presented in a rude manner.

Just make the game more like CE or Halo 3 ODST I guess...

but never include classes, knife, cover system, sprint and so on...

Give us more vehicles, weapons, cooler maps, dark enviroments, new enimies, A new AR, better AI and so on...

I agree with everything the OP said, except for the combat knife part, all we need to do is look at the banner and see that most likely a combat knife is in the game.

WTF Would the knife do to a Spartan armor?

unrealistic!

You're missing the point. He's not saying put new graphics into Halo 3 and call it Halo 4, he's saying don't reinvent the game. Like, we don't need pelican support after 7 kills, like so many people are suggesting.

And if you really think Halo 3 is just Halo 2.5, you clearly never played Halo 2 on Xbox Live during its prime years
I think you too are missing the point. He's referring to gameplay. Halo 2 and 3 were nearly identical save for a few new weapons and equipment. Obviously pelican support would be stupid, and stealing a mechanic from another game. Although who's to say bungie doesn't want to go into another direction with the Halo games. Bring in the true bar for next gen gameplay. I assure you, if there isn't anything new in future Halo games people will stop buying them. They want something new when they buy a game. Not the same old same old they saw in the previous games. Whether that's something as big as a gameplay overhaul or a simply a new feature. Just because you guys are "long time fans" doesn't mean we have to think exactly the way you do. (Authors note: I've been playing since Halo CE so don't pull that one)

How so? Halo 2 is incredibly different. I never played H2 in the prime days, and i only started H3 in 2008 Jan, but i bought Halo 2 & Halo 1 and it's incredibly different. I've done the jumps in H1, learned the glitches and jumps in H2, and am currently a 42 in H3, i don't play ranked to level up anymore really so it's meh.
H2 has way different hitboxes, has glitches and add-ons, and other incredible things. In fact, by rushing to put it out, Bungie gave more things to do then in H3, where they looked over EVERYTHING, and made sure it was perfect. That nothing could go wrong. H2 was a way faster game, because of the hitboxes, the glitches which allowed for comebacks when multiple shots down, and the different mechanics/physics.

I have no idea how you think they're alike.

As for "nobody will buy them if there isn't something new" that's plain old stupid. People bought H3, after seeing all the things in Halo 2? People STILL buy Mario games, this long after it was made. Pokemon still sells out, when you know each games goes Gym Leaders->Elite Four->Catch 'Em All.
Peope will buy Halo. The same reason they'll buy CoD6, because it's like CoD4, and CoD2. My friend bought CoD5 because he liked CoD4, he didn't know much about it, now he hates it. He's back to playing CoD5.

I don't want a big overhaul, in fact, far from it. I want a game like H1 or H2, a fast-paced game, with lots of things to do once you beat it.

Well no. I started playing when I got Halo 1 on christmas day 2001.

And I want Halo to change, but in a similar way to what odst is doing. Not necessarily how it's doing it, but more so evolving greatly.
See, the halo trilogy is over. There's no reason to make the offshoots and prequels so similar. They should feel the same, but be quite different. Class based is stupid, but it doesn't have to be a safe sequel. I like what ODST is doing personally.

The worst thing halo could do is try to be like other shooters. Instead, it has to carve its own path in uniqueness.

SaYkReD

An opinion!? Some of it is, but most of it is very, very, TRUE!
Halo is a game where the objective is to get to the weapons and take control of a certain part of the map. Classes is for more realistic games, plus if you played since Halo 1, you would understand how the gameplay should be tweaked and updated. I'm not trying to be a -BLAM!-.

WOW I'M DUMB, WRONG FORUM PAGE.
Sorry guys.
Wait i'm just at the last page, sorry again, right page.

One more thing, this is to Spartan 90210.
