Im Taylor, just a average everyday lazy gamer, but i want to see Reach become one of the greatest FPS's out there, thats why i took the time to collect and organize all this together and explain exactly what we the players want to see and experience in the next biggest halo game of all time. One other thing id like to say is most of these ideas may be small, but its small things that add up to create something bigger better and badass. So please come post and discuss your ideas that could be put into Reach (once it is talked about enough to a degree that we can agree it will work into the game)


And so it begins
These are the ideas of the fanbase that we would like to see "Put into Reach" to make Halo a even more epic and massive FPS shooter. The way i see it, Halo: Reach has a chance to blow the players minds away with all sorts of added features and content (as well as a few new weapons lol), if Bungie wants Reach to be a great succes they have to find the ideas that the mass majority of the players want for it, and thats what i plan to show them in this
topic, the ideas and wants of the PEOPLE! Because we know what we want, and were gonna do whatever it takes to get it.

First up ia a very special and perfectly made list by MeWant_Honeycomb:

Custom Game Options:

1. Toggle (on/off):
----(a) Fall damage
----(b) Halo: CE Pistol
----(c) Turning off scopes
----(d) Non-detachable turrets
----(e) Immunity to assassinations
----(f) Night or day
----(g) Weather effects (rain, snow, etc.)
----(h) 'Resolve ties' option
----(i) 'Round reset map' option
----(j) 'Force even teams' option
----(k) Waypoints over flag/ball/bomb
----(l) UNSC vs. Covenant Identity toggle (if turned on, teams will be divided into Elites vs. Humans)

6. Set rounds to 'first to . . .'
7. Custom Settings: turn off individual items, weapons, power-ups, grenades, turrets, vehicles
8. Weapon Sets missing: Heavy, Human, Covenant, Brute, Plasma, Halo 1, Halo 2, Rifles, Random (weapons, not set)
9. Set number of territories
10. Bring back Territories point system option (as it used to be in Halo 2)
11. Team traits for all gametypes (Ex. Starting one team out with swords and the other with shotguns in CTF or slayer)
12. Add Multi-team CTF and Assault
13. Let respawn traits override basic player traits momentarily
14. Edit individual player traits, not just teams (one person has sword, another has shotty)
15. Allow eliminated teammates to respawn on kills. This trigger is broken on Halo 3.
16. Limit which vehicles, items, and weapons each team can and cannot use.

Game Types:

1. New Infection Gametypes
----(a) A tag game where you do not want to be 'it.' The first person to die would be 'it,' and they must kill someone else to get rid of the virus, the person with the least amount of time with the virus at the end wins.
----(b) A gametype where if you have the virus too long, you die and don't come back (tag elimination).
2. 'Vampirism' option causing death from health decay, not merely lowering shields
3. Potential for multiple juggernauts

Personal Customization:

1. In Personal Settings:
----(a) Set vehicle views from different seats to 3rd or 1st person
----(b) Black armor (secondary color only) option, as well as chrome (shiny) color.
----(c) Add Arbiter armor/new armors
----(d) Include a custom, but controlled wider range of options for symbols.
----(e) Allow one arm to show your personal symbol, and the other your clan symbol.
----(f) Set HUD color
----(g) Set your sword color
2. The 'SPECIALTY' concept: In player settings, each person may choose from an array of new capabilities and assign only ONE of them to their controller to suit their playing style. They may choose from things like [1] Melee combo (perhaps short taps on 'B' button = fast, weaker hits, while holding down the 'B' button is a slower, stronger melee) [2] Momentary sprint [3] Jump higher [4] Prone position by clicking crouch twice [5] New visor mode. This will make playing styles more diverse and different jobs more suitable for certain players. There should also be a way for the host to turn these capabilities off.
3. Be capable of playing as an ODST in multiplayer. This can be accomplished by implementing the handicap mechanism from Halo 2, except you become an ODST to make it clear to other players that you are handicapped.
4. Allow your Clan Symbol to appear in clan matches on your base, flags, and vehicles.

Controller Alterations:

1. Utilize one of the unused buttons while driving the Warthog to switch seats quickly, in case you get in the wrong side or the driver dies.
2. Customize your controls button-by-button.
3. Allow for weapon swapping between players.

Maps:

1. More destructible places on multiplayer maps.
2. More interaction with surroundings: buttons, triggers, being able to shoot out the lights, open doors by blasting them down, etc.

Vehicles:

1. More map-specific vehicles like the snow vehicles on Avalanche.
2. Add the transport (armored) Warthog to multiplayer.
3. Boats

Weapons:

1. Use the blue sentinel beam in multiplayer. Add the plasma freeze to sentinel beams like plasma weapons in Halo 1, to make it a worth-while weapon.
2. Make the Brute Plasma Rifle single-wielded and large, like in Halo: CE, and keep the other version dual wieldable. This pleases both audiences.
3. Make the Fuel Rods shot arc like in Halo: CE. This made the fuel rod a lot different from the Rocket Launcher and better for different jobs.
4. When you melee someone with a Needler, allow needles to stick in them and explode.
5. Make the trip mine more explosive. Its okay, it's RARE!

Extra Features:

1. A custom games menu and search engine for matchmaking.
2. More stats on Bungie.net: total headshots, average shooting accuracy, etc.
3. View unlocked movies from the campaign.
4. More medals in multiplayer:
----(a) No-Scope (only for snipers)
----(b) Drive-By (kill someone from the passenger seat of a warthog/spectre)
----(c) Grenadier (stick someone from a long distance or get a lot of sticks)
----(d) Expert Sniping (kill 4 people with one clip of ammo)
----(e) Go for the Head (5 headshots in a row)
----(f) Catching Air (shooting someone with a rocket or sniper in midair)
----(g) Start it Off! (get the 1st kill)
----(h) Finish the Fight! (get the last kill)
5. Allow armor to show battle damage with each life.
6. Add visor effects (Ex. When shot in the face with plasma, or get Covenant goo on you)
7. Clan Support
8. Fix the fact that players dont have to actually touch the flag to return it with touch return on.
9. Allow players in the lobby to see an overhead view of a custom map in the lobby before playing it, once loaded and waiting.
10. Be able to save a video of a match without having to go into the Theater.
11. Allow people to veto a map before it loads.
12. Store more than 100 files
13. Potential for 24 players

Forge:

1. Clear everything off the map by clicking an option.
2. Undo/Redo option
3. Copy and paste button, so you don?t have to go to the menu over and over.
4. Make all weapons/vehicles/objects available for all maps.
5. Button for making objects float without saving and quitting.
6. Button for quickly interlocking objects
7. Get rid of the item/object limits. The finance limit is the only one needed.
8. Forge triggers (EX. push a button and something happens)

(Under half of these are already put down below(along with explinations on how they could work and why they are needed) but this list still shows almost 100% of what the players want put into Halo: Reach and ill be damned if none of it gets in)

MULTIPLAYER SECTION

(The clumpy paragraphs at the top of most of the sections and bolded parts at the end of most each idea below are my explinations on how these ideas can work and why they should be in Halo: Reach)

Ill start with the one thing players want THE MOST OF ALL, Huge multiplayer, the game M.A.G. for the PS3 will have 264 players online, if they found a way to get that ridiciulious number of players online then im positive Bungie can get at least to 24 evenly maybe 32 and at max 48 it depends on a few things. The 360's capabilities should be somewhere around the PS3's level and im sure it can handle it, if Reach doesnt have more multiplayer then it wont have the feeling of a "Huge war" only the small skirmishes on small maps, and it wont feel as different from halo 3. Being able to play with more people in Halo would be fun, fast paced and epic for everyone.

Another thing is the ability to create and search for your own matches, like pick which matchtype, then select a map from the list of maps for that matchtype and then select the gametype for the map. Pretty simple, and it would be another thing for players to look forward too. Along with that there needs to be a infection playlist. But the main thing people want to see is a custom games playlist, like select "custom game matchmaking" and there you can quickly join any custom games (that are set to open to all) create your own custom match or search for a specific map and gametype. If this was added i feel that it would be easier for more people to have fun with maps they made, and ofcourse it wouldnt be so difficult to find a big party to test your maps and such.

Rework the Sigma and MU ranking system. You guys made the number crunching way too difficult for yourselves and everyone else in H3. There's too much unneeded math going on in H3 to determine if someone will rank up. Sure, ranking up is good for the most part and people got to 49's and 50's legit...myself included. BUT, one person winning 5 in a row and ranking up while someone else has to win 15 in a row to get the same level...something isn't right. What's even more depressing is when you win 15 in a row and then lose 1, you go back down. In H2, if we won 4 in a row it was insant rank-up time. Bring back the old number icons from H2. Our number ranks looked way cooler encased in those circles than they do in 3 just in the open like that. That's my only gripe about the ranks, you guys did an awesome job with everything else.
(Im with this guy on this as well it just takes so LONG to get to 50, im still working on getting past 37 and ive had the game since it came out, and its ridiculious how many mathes you have to win in a row only to go down by 1-2 loses, also ive seen people useing the "quit and lose exp" thing to their advantage somehow, i dont understand how someone could be rank 36 with 0 exp, it definitly needs work)

Since we know that the ODST firefight maps can be played in both day and night, I think ALL reach MP maps should do this, for FIreFight and Regular verses. Or another idea wich was used in some military shooter(cant remeber which one). A game starts at dusk and during the match turns into night and dawn to morning. and Weather effects, rain, snow, lightning etc. for maps. That would be cool.

In many games, destructible environments have succeeded. For instance, games like Red Faction: Guerrilla and Battlefield: Bad Company. (No, I'm not comparing Halo to any of these games so don't flame or shun me) I'm not even asking for a fully destructible environment, some simple structures, walls or obstacles that can be destroyed or shot through (almost like a larger scale version of pallets in Halo 3 or Blowupable Covers in Halo 3:ODST) would suffice. The problem is where would this fit best and on what kind of scale? Would you like it where you can shoot through walls like in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or destroy walls and structures completely like in Red Faction: Guerrilla or would you not like to see destructible environments at all? Think about it, you're playing Capture the Flag, you take the Rocket Launcher, blow up a wall, grab a vehicle and you're ready to go. Only to find out there's a guy on the opposing team waiting on another side of a destructible wall. Besides, Reach is already getting blown the -blam!- up so why not? :-)
(This is a great idea and it would give the game more replayability, im not sure how well the engine could manage it though, we will have to wait and see )

Bots for multiplayer
(im not sure of this idea myself but lots of people talk about it, it would be great to have a replacement soldier for if someone quits a online game, but then its AI would have to be VERY GOOD to not just be an easy target for the other team to constently kill)

Have all weapons in online multiplayer like fuel rod and firebombs
(there has been so many times i could have used those, and on older
maps they only had the older weapons, definitly need to make sure that
all the weapons are available online in some type of matchtype)


Flashlight in single and multiplayer
(hmmm, this could be useful if Reaches online maps are as dark as i imangine they will be)

PLAY AS FLOOD IN INFECTION GAMETYPE
I think in Reach, assuming the flood still exists and there is an infection gametype, the infection gametype should entail that the infected were actually infected in halo terms. I think it would add a lot to the game if you could actually blow off bits and pieces of the infected. It would even be better if they created a flooded map, something like Halo 2's Backwash.
(It would be AWESOME to have such a thing, ive been waiting for it as well but it could be too much to cram into the game, i will say i hope they do make flood controllable characters(ONLY for infection)and which one you are is based off what character you are)

scape has buildings that collapse mid game and the fallen buildings allow
the player access to places out of reach at the begining of the game
(its a thought, could make it to were people can get crushed)

Be able to lay down and not just crouch
(Adding the ability to lay down would increase stratigic value and make alot of players happy, but i know it will be extremly tough to program it into the controls with the L3 button but im sure Bungie can figure something out like click once to crouch(click again to get back up) and click and hold to lay down then click again to stand back up, simple no? and it would make it easy to get up quickly when you are discovered)

MAG can have that many players because they have dedicated servers and don't have to share with other games and services. Microsoft could easily do the same if they wanted to. Hell, they could buy/make and and hire everthing needed run it if every active player paid a single dollar. If you wanted armor or just perks to do things, they really should be small, or selectively advantageous, such as the suggestion of being active only in a vehicle. I'm thinking... add a scope level or slightly increase the scope zoom for the BR, extra magazine holder for any or specific weapon pick ups, increased plasma damage if playing as an elite (since plasma weapons except the sniper all suck anyways). Or the ability to have your secondary weapon preset to your favorite that isn't a sniper, sword/shotty, or rockets (or just start with a fav dual wield combo). Or respawn with full grenades of all types, or the ability to spawn with incendiary grenades. Something that shortens spartan laser cooling/charging times. Slightly increased range for shotty damage or sword lunge. Slightly shorter time for your shield to begin recovering.

I think they should make a playlist type that uses squads, and each squad member specializes in certain weapons (which they spawn with), like other have mentioned: demolitions (brute shots, mines, maybe rockets), snipers (grav lifts to help get to their perches), Grunts (AR's, full grenades, deployable shields), Rangers (BR's, shield regenerator), Techies (Needler, shield drain, incediary grenades, maybe spartan laser), Tanks (Shotty, Grav hammer, overshield which doesn't regen except to normal shield levels). Or whatever, something that would make each class balanced. When you start the playlist, you can choose which class to be, and it matches you up with people who chose different classes to be on the same team to fight against a similarly assembled team. Of course, as part of the balance, each team will have a limited number of snipers and demolitionists (probably just 1 each, and perhaps modifiying their respawn times) while having multiple Grunts and rangers and a few techies. Perhaps you'd start with being able to choose only grunts and rangers only, then have to play a certain number of matches to have access to the techie class, but then have to rank up to have access to the sniper class (if you were playing as a ranger) or the demo and tanks (if you played as a grunt).

Might have to reduce points earned for kills based on class used, cuz killing with a sniper rifle or shotgun is easier than killing with the AR. And there would be two ranking systems set up for it, Squad, and Personal. You rank up in sqaud if your team wins. You rank up in the Personal for that class based on kill count and/or K/D ratio. So if your team did aweful as a whole, but you were carrying the team with your 4:1 K/D ratio or 20 kills, you aren't totally penalized for having matched with bad teammates. Of course, it could be a random lottery to get which class slot... but somehow I think that's a bad idea. So would slots based solely on global ranking. Just tossing that idea out there. Just something I feel would give the multiplayer that squad battle feel where your sniper is actually a sniper and not some noob who grabbed it first.
(there are ALOT of ideas here for the armor abilitys and mutltiplayer stuff)



ARMOR SECTION

Next is the armor, the MAIN THING people want for the armor is more armor pieces for the elites and spartens (mainly elites) like from some of the books and for there to be a brute character to play as, i understand the brute is a big target and it may be unbalenced but i know Bungie can think of a way to even it out. And having 3 different characters would increase individualism by 1/3 making tons of the fanbase happy and give them another reason to play them game. Also there is a even number of people who do and dont want armor to have resitences and abilitys. Arguements with that is that they would mainly be unlockables and some players would have advantages that other players dont, and theres also the problem of keeping Halo at what it is, a simple FPS shooter that anyone can pick up and play, my solution for this would be that in custom macthes and some online matchtypes the armors abilitys and resistences could be disabled like "powering down the power suits" and with that idea i think armor with resistences and such could work quite well.

More color options for players

With the armor colors, should just had a color wheel/graph. So you pick
the base color, then can movie different bars higher or lower to get
whatever color you want.

WHO WANTS THE COLOR BLACK BACK FOR HALO REACH?
In Halo 1 we had the color black However in Halo 2 Bungie removed black because they thought it blends with shadow. Well white blends with snow, green
blends with grass, and tan blends with sand and yet we still have those colors. In Halo 3 we have black but only as a force team color. Who wants the
coolest color black back for Halo Reach Multiplayer?
(Absoulutly YES ive wanted to have the color black for so long and not just dark grey, i think he is right they should bring it back)

Different HUDs for different helmets
(I think this is a cool idea, it would take some work to think up different HUD styles and to squeeze it into the game but it may add that extra pinch of realism and awesomeness that alot of the previous^ said ideas would do)




CAMPAIGN SECTION

Now this next feature alot people want done to make the marines and ODSTs actually feel needed in the campaign instead of being useless pants on head
retarded soildiers that were only good for having infinite ammo and driveing you around. The marines and ODSTs werent even that different, only the armor
seperated them apart, my idea for them is to increase their AI and tactical ability along with haveing a way to give them simple orders mainly being Attack, Defend and hold position. Ive thought on how to implement it into the controls and i think the best and only way would be to assign it to the d-pad, the d-pad is only used to turn on the flashlight so i think it could work. Attack would go left, defend goes right, hold position down, and flashlight up its pretty simple, and your guns crosshair would be the target point of where to att/def/hold. If they make the campaign multiplayer bigger for more then 4 players though they can use the Back button in the middle of the controller for flashlight and the up button talk maybe. I want it to seem that they arnt 100% needed BUT it would make it easier in the HUGE firefights against the covenant and such, and the ODSTs would ofcourse be stronger then the marines and used for special/difficult/stealty missions. And to make it seem more real on each missions there should be a certain number of ally NPC troops(marines
and ODSTs)
that can replace dead troops and are dropped off or discovered at certain checkpoints, not a unlimited amount but just enough depending on
the difficulty. People want at the least for the NPC allys to be more formidable.

Added notes: There needs to be more story, an
idea i have for this would be to do what halo 2 did, 2 different playable characters alien and spartan AND THINK ABOUT THIS, what if in
Halo: Reach playing as the alien hero you could fight marines and have all the other aliens on your side???? they only did that in halo 2 and i thought
that was badass!
If they had that in Reach it would be so freaking awesome i cant even begin to say how much more fun the game's campaign/story would
be x.x

(The campaign has to be longer, hell Reach is all about a war on another planet theres so much Bungie can do with the story even though books about it were wrote this would be a chance to fill any plot holes and maybe create some new story that didnt happen in the books)

And also, a Multiplayer mode that ties in with the overall story of the game, It would be Spartans vs. Elites. Make the Multiplayer part of the overall cannon in some way. Perhapse a verses campaign mode! Where 4 players play as spartans and the other 4 play as Elites each would have the campaign AI to back them up. It could work well if done correctly.
(Genius idea that would livin up the campaign greatly, but it would take a very long time to figure out and balence and when one side loses and such but its a great start)

WEAPONS AND VEHICLES

For this new game Reach I would hope to have a very large map with more Xbox Live support, possibley 24-32. The Pelican will be armed with a 40mm cannon used for offense, and it is controlled by the co-pilot. It would have a slow fire rate but have decent power,
it would have small blast damage it would have a rear machine gun providing the passengers with fire support.
(thats all fine mostly like the campaign peli's)

The pelican will have a crew of 2, and six passengers. [5 seated 1 rear gunner.]
You could hook up a Scoprion or Hog to the back, and one mongose inside of the pelican.
[Possible Idea, 1 mongoose at the cost of two passengers. and all vechiles cant* be used while in flight.]
(ofcourse, shooting a scorpian while flying would be way unbalenced and i was thinking the pilot can use the LB button to latch the vehicle on(if no ones inside) and press it again to drop. i think it should stay at 6-8 passengers in the back since it will be used for big maps with LOTS of players)

It would be damaged these ways:
Any serious weapons Rocket Launchers, Spartan Lasers, Scorpion tank shots, if there is damage to the engines it will gain or lose altitude and have a harder
time turning. [Usefull to stop a flag carrier from getting away...and realistic!]

Ways to be destroyed.
3 Rocket hits [One to the cockpit or one to the engine to cause failure or serious damage]
2 laser hits [unless in the cockpit]
2 scorpion hits [unless in the cockpit]
1 Wraith shot [becasue we now how hard it is to shoot down aircraft with a wraith]
(weapon damage and balence issues i have no idea how to figure out so i would just leave it to bungies balenceing team, but i do think the front windshield glass should be able to be broken and then the pilots are exposed to normal fire)

When the Pelican is critically damged, it won't blow up in mid air, but depending on the altitude it will flash a red light in the passenger compartment
[pipes breaking and sparks add realism and extra warning] to get out and save yourself. The pilot must eject the vechiles [if they are stored] or they will go down with the ship and be destroyed or heavily damaged.
[Pilot is doomed give him a salute while you bail]
When the damage is done the pelican will crash to the ground in an explosion
(when the ship is going into critical it may at most flash lights but the extra effects might be a little troublesome to put in, and then the ship may go into a swishy back and forth motion(like in the campaign) and the pilot(s) will go down with the ship since it is almost impossible to escape the cockpit of a crashing peli, upon crashing there will be a big damageing explosion and any attached vehicles will be destroyed with it)

It is usefull to get your team from one side of the map to the other, and some strafing and vechile transport
(Its a great idea that would help if it was on alvalanche or sidewinder or sandboxs ariel building area(that suckers huge)

As everyone knows the AR is one of the most popular gun for the majority of Halo 3 players, But its accuracy is well to be honest pretty shocking and it takes a whole clip just to kill another player, Not to mention its sound it even sound's bad compared to its brother the SMG. But personally i think it needs to go or be improved.
All i can say is: DO NOT PUT IT IN HALO REACH WITHOUT MAJOR MODIFICATIONS
(I dont think the AR is bad but its not good either, it needs to have some advantage the other guns dont)



FORGE AND MAPS SECTION

The maps have always been awesome say for a select few that were disappointing, i think there should be more larger maps with bases on them like Standoff, High ground, and blood gulch. With Sandbox bungie said it was fully editable but it didnt even have half the things that Foundry had, like half shield doors, or all the random stuff thats used in Dodge It, there should be a map that can have changeable climate and EVERY ITEM (and weapons) from the past levels, it would give players complete access to what they can create. There needs to be a better forge system, like every map will have everything that every other
map can have, also needs to be more editing tools, like a snap reaction that can be turned on and off for simple and advanced maps, the fusion glicth should stay ofcourse thats what makes the best maps, or you can make it another optional thing where items move through each other like they arnt solid and then switch it on and off to get perfect fusion results and it would be great to have a automactic floating option, that would make the item float as soon as you let go, like place it anywhere in any position and it stays.

bring back blood gulchcoagulation
(that map was perfect for most any type of game, i say bring it back recreated for Reach enviroment(maybe in a small part of the city with a few destroyed buildings?) and bigger for the bigger party sizes Reach SHOULD have. Also the bases should be mostly redone with
a much more expansive underground part of the bases. And maybe a entire underground battlefield UNDER the battlefield or tunnels maybe?)


a delete button would be nice for foundry and sandbox and make no limit for the money and a better sandbox that doesnt have LASERS that kill u when u step outside the map BUNGIE or at least in matchmaking i know u did that cause of the sandbox skull which took me 4ever to find but my friend got it for me
(I agree 100% the death areas get annoying)

I would like a forge undo and redo button.
(sounds pointless when you first think about it(or maybe thats just the redo part), but i see it may be useful somehow, like if you accidently move something and it was a pain in the ass to get it there then just undo it)

Map editor like Far Cry 2
(tons of players like far cry 2's map editor more(i havent played it so i wouldnt know)

what we already have. Do we really need a game with twice the broken
features? I think not. The melee system was terrible, dual wielding,
weapon Balance wasn't the best, the ranking system was nowhere as good

Melee
The melee system sucked. It is way to overused and way to easy to use.
The lunge allows you to actually turn and fly at your opponents, no aim
required. The melee system should return to a state similar to Halo CE.
Almost no lunge and the more momentum you have the stronger you melee.
Each weapon should also have a unique damage dealt, melee speed,
animation and reach.

Damage Example:
Standing melee < Running melee < Jumping melee

Weapon Balance
The main problem was weapons either functioned at melee range or at
medium to long range. No in betweens, this makes medium to long range
weapons, like the battle rifle, too effective because you could use them
at all ranges and half the weapons were useless outside of melee range.

Dual Wielding
Dual wielding is the reason most guns have nerfed range. Dual wielding
needs to be perfected or removed. Dual wieldable guns should function
like a real gun when single wielded, having both accuracy and power.
When dual wielded they would retain all firepower but the accuracy,
and subsequently the range, would be drastically cut. This would make
dual wielding strictly a form of close rang dominance.
Here is a thread with a similar concept and a diagram. All weapons would be given decent range with this solution. Even the shotgun would have the Halo CE range.

Ranking System
They should use the Halo 2 Ranking system. It did a great job of separating the noobs and the different skilled players. Maybe they could add to it somehow, something like Halo 3's global experience system just to show your wins.

Autoaim
Its really ridiculous in Halo 3, I understand a little autoaim because this is going to be a console game but damn Halo 3 has a lot. Try betraying a teammate. Hard isn't it? Its also more fun in my opinion. I have actually played a game set to simulate FFA with no autoaim using betrayals. Its much more satisfying to get a kill this way,

Cheating
I have never even been standbyed but I hear stories of cheating. If this is happening Bungie should implement a (better?) anti-cheat system. These problems should definitely be Bungies priority. My solutions aren't what should be used, they are just suggestions and examples of what could be done. What do you think and what problems/solutions do you propose?
(i think mostly all your suggestions are great and should be done especially the melee system)

DLC:
-More DLC besides just maps. I'd like to see some more armour permutations once I get bored of the old ones, or maybe some new weapons and vehicles.

Weapons/Vehicles:
-All weapons/vehicles from halo games... Of course not in matchmaking due to balance issues but for custom games
-New weapons/vehicles including ones from the novels, again the overpowered ones could at least go in custom games

Maps:
-Reach based Turf
-Other Reach based levels
-Boarding Action remake
-Pillar of Autumn based map
-An actual map editor

Matchmaking:
-More variety in playlists
-System similar to Gears 2 when it comes to vetoing, like a choice sort of thing (Gears 2 players will know what I'm talking about)

Customization:
-More Elite and Spartan permutations including existing ones
-A unique HUD for each helmet.
-More parts to customize including legs, feet, visor, arms, etc
-More races such as any new Covenant races Bungie may introduce or Jackals, which could have armour which is as big as a Spartans so it's balanced.

Other:
-Bots
-More options for custom games
(see this guy knows what gamers want and i think it would all work, besides the jackels i dont know how those would work)

Campaign
Bungie has created an epic campaign experience with Halo 1, 2, 3 and I believe they are doing it all right

Multiplayer
For ranking brung back the halo 2 system

As for the engine I want to see a more advanced system based on the Halo 2 . Halo 2's game engine felt great. The weapons were great (apart from the few glitches). Everything felt more fun. And I imagine halo 2 veterns want it back.

I think that the vehicles should be expanded on. I want to see the transport warthog that is faster than other warthogs. I want to fly pelicans and they should have around 2 turrets and maybe rockets.

As for maps I agree with the day/night setting. I want to see symetry in maps rather than oversized battlefields. However I do think there should be large maps for large games. I expect at least 10 shipped maps.

I think that cistom games should have more options for change. Even though halo 3 had an amazing custom game system it could be expanded on. For example the flood in infection.

I want to see A large amount of downloadable content in Halo : reach. Mostly maps but I do think other DLC such as firefight maps and maybe new base gametypes should be included. I doubt any vehicles or weapins will appear as DLC

Forge
In halo 3 the forge was as far as we could hope to a PC editor. Though The halo 3 forge is amazing I think a forge 2.0 can be included.

- A "sticky" option allowing any object stick to any serface
- "Terrain" An option to create water effects or trees and grass
- "merging" I want to see an option to make the interlocking and geo-merging a lot easier
- A "Change view" option. Most forgers hate placing an object only to find it is not right. If you move then its not working either. I want to see an option to "lock" the monitor and go into a theater like view and then return at the touch of a button


Overall I think bungie will do a great job on reach and Hopefully at least some of comunity generated ideas will be taken into account :)

Hell we are the players, we are what makes them enough money to buy a small country i want at least 80% of the ideas in the first post to be in Halo: Reach or ill be very disappointed that the few days ive spent on this entire list had gone to waste

oh and also for campaign have it more ramped up like BIGGER BATTLES have huge battles in some if not all the missions it would look more like halo seeing people, vehicles, aircraft, and covanent fighting bungie did good in halo 3 in some missions but it did not feel like a battle more like a skrimish and for the scenery have war turn buldings and destructible buildings in both campaign and multiplayer like if you use a tank and shoot a bulding pices of it start to fall off until there is no more bulding left would make the game more fun and also have even more possible ways to complete levels and two seperate camaigns one for humans and one for the covanent. add night vision for the sniper and bring back the old halo 1 scropion halo 2's was way over powered and halo 3's no one wanted to man the turret and also add the ability to sit on the sides of the tank it made the tank more realistice and more fun also add unlimited gernades not regenerated ones

#3 bring back the old scorpoins with no turrets that need another player in them seriously no one likes having to pick a passenger to the man the turret. plus it's easier aim your self

well there MAY be a map/gametype search engine so you can find exactly what kind of match you want, as well as being able to create your own match, its all up there in the second post

duel weilding is still sweet, i dont see why other people dont like it, also i can understand health bars but i hate NO AMOUNT of lunge at all and fall damage it is just annoying
