I hate Rocketeers, Tank Noobs, and Emo Kids.

Alright, Im looking forward to ODST and Im sure it will be a great game. Also for newer players who dont have Halo 3; they get the Halo 3 Multiplayer disc to use, awesome right?

No, its lame. Because that disc is going to have the downloadable content that others had to pay for, I personally was pissed when I payed for the Heroic maps only to have them come out for free a few months later.

All Im saying is that if somebody who already has the maps buys the game, they should get something "extra" or a refund in ms points. Paying 10$ to get 3 maps (5months?) before other people is not worth it.

We believe that the universe is unbounded: this is not the same as infinite: the 2-D surface of a sphere, wrapped around a 3rd dimension, has a finite size, but has no end. If you start off in a given direction on the surface of a sphere, you could return to your start point without having to turn around -- you simply go all the way around. But wouldn't that mean the universe has an escape velocity like the earth?

i too was unimpressed, because those lazy to pay get it for free? thats shameful, i hope we get bungie pro for this

Thanks for the posts, although they sort of surprised me. I was expecting people to say something like "Be grateful for getting the maps early." or something.

Okay, you're just being selfish. You purchase the maps to play them BEFORE everyone else.

Bungie should be commended for making the maps free eventually, vs only releasing the maps to those who bought them. Bungie made the fact abundantly clear that this was going to be the case. The fact that you got pissed when you paid for the Heroic maps to only have them come out free later is no one's fault but your own.

And if my points fall on deaf ears and you still feel robbed, then blame the cause of all problems (real or imagined).

Blame Stosh.

I actually purchased the maps to play them. Not knowing at first that they would of soon became free for me. What Im trying to say here is when ODST comes out, they should have the 2disc vers. (Halo3 multiplayer disc w/ content as disc 2) and a cheaper (40$) single disc ODST version.

Thats all I'll use.

Technically They aren't releasing the maps for free. Why is it 60$? Becuase of the maps and Halo 3 Multiplayer..

sig goes where?

It was well known from the start that the Heroic maps were going to become free, your ignorance of this fact is no excuse.

Yah, and they also told us about the legendary/mythic maps too?
In fact I remember bungie saying something about no indication of the legendary maps ever coming out free.

and guess what?

Actually, I agree with you there. That would be a good idea, much like the Halo 2 Map Pack disc that was sold separately from the actual game.

Personally, I wouldn't mind other people being given DLC for free. In the end, you pay for early access. That's how it has always been. In fact, I am very surprised that the LMP is still 600MP. Learn from this, OP. Map packs are almost always made free a few months after release.

But I am still angry. You see for me, a short campaign, new co-op mode and three new maps shouldn't cost $60. $40 perhaps. To me, that means the maps are factored into the price tag. Which means everybody who owns the map packs is effectively paying for them again.

Old School

this is pricisely why i didnt buy the mythic map pack.

MS decides the price, if it was up to Bungie the game probably would've been a lot cheaper. They could bring out a sequel to *insert your most hated game* and re-name it Halo because they know it will sell for millions. If you actually think MS are gonna let you get some sort of refund for the maps you must be crazy.

It would seem the free DLC is coming out in the near future for games like Gears/Halo, but Ive always been tempted to buy early because of games like Oblivion - No free DLC there. And I dont want to wait 5months before I figure out that it wont ever be free.

We pay to get it early stop whinning theyve been doing this since Halo 2
Now shut up and post something good before I bite your nose off

The Original Gun...part of The Spartan I Project.

SIP is here to help you achieve a 1750 gamer score and get the most from Halo, including Recon! Join today!

I felt the same way as this for all of the GoW2 maps being sold for an extra 400MSP on top of the new D/L. So basically I paid 1600MSP for something now worth 400MSP. With gears, the maps aren't integrated into the playlists either, so you rarely play them.

If nothing else, in Halo you paid to be able to play certain playlists aswell.

Let me rephrase my advice. Map packs are almost always made free a few months after release. If you don't want to risk waiting before figuring out they will never be free, buy them when they are released. Usually however, there will be some sort of announcement on the map pack's price status shortly after release; you should know by then whether or not it will be made free.

it was a pretty weird idea i mean why dont they just have a code in the box of odst or make it available on the market place when the game comes out.

  • 07.05.2009 7:16 AM PDT

I want her...

hmm the extra thing i got from buying the maps was not waiting until halo odst came out >_>...and getting to play them...kinda a dumb idea imo

  • 07.05.2009 7:20 AM PDT

get a job. Its nice that Bungie is going to release them for free. You payed to play them earlier and knew that the mythic maps were on disk but probably still bought them just to play them like everyone else.

Oh no you spent an extra $30 to play maps months to a year earlier than everyone else.

My tv that I bought last year is $300 now instead of $400. Am I pissed? No because I got to use it for a year.

My family's car that we bought in 1999 now sells for much less than we bought it for. Are we pissed? No because we got to use it for years.

Grow up
