Subject: This Awesome new Title Pisses me off.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

I don't really care, £29 for ODST is a bargain for me and even in the economic crisis it hardly makes a difference to me.
Stop whining. You can't win against it.

get a job. Its nice that Bungie is going to release them for free. You payed to play them earlier and knew that the mythic maps were on disk but probably still bought them just to play them like everyone else.

Oh no you spent an extra $30 to play maps months to a year earlier than everyone else.

My tv that I bought last year is $300 now instead of $400. Am I pissed? No because I got to use it for a year.

My family's car that we bought in 1999 now sells for much less than we bought it for. Are we pissed? No because we got to use it for years.

Grow up

Wrong! The maps that come with Halo 3 ODST add to the price of the game. If you would like to prove me wrong, then please explain how a 5-6 hour campaign and a survival mode can be worth more than $30.

Don't even try with these people. These people will buy anything that has Halo on it. They'll say "I'd buy it for $200." They actually believe that a 5-6 hour campaign is a good thing.

I tried to explain it, believe me, but they won't listen. Don't go down this road.

It was well known from the start that the Heroic maps were going to become free, your ignorance of this fact is no excuse.

Yah, and they also told us about the legendary/mythic maps too?
In fact I remember bungie saying something about no indication of the legendary maps ever coming out free.

and guess what?

They are hardly becoming free... you still have to pay money to get them.

  • 07.05.2009 7:52 AM PDT

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Your not getting them free. the game was supposed to be 30$. So TECHNICLY. Your getting both ODST, And Halo 3 + all the maps for 30$ each.

This is exatcly what I've been trying to tell people. Once ODST is proven to be worth $60 on itself, then I won't argue.

Don't worry. I won't say anything to this guy until he proves me wrong.... or atleast admits that I'm right.

I hate Rocketeers, Tank Noobs, and Emo Kids.

Its not very hard to understand that the maps you get are free, it may add to the price of the game, but there is no option of buying the game alone - it must come witht he Halo 3 Multiplayer disc.

So the people that buy the game and didnt originally get the DLC get the maps for free.

But for others who already have the DLC, we have to pay extra for only wanting ODST and not the Multiplayer Game Disc

- Like I said before, they should release 2 different packages
40$ ODST
60$ ODST+Halo3 Multiplayer.

Who cares? Don't buy the game then.

I agree, I spend £29 in two weeks lunch money for school. Well; maybe three weeks.

Who cares? Apparently we do, why else would we argue about it.

And it's not about anybody caring, it's about not being exploited. Just because you like bending down and accepting it, doesn't mean we do as well.

Bending down and accepting? Mate, it's 30 quid, a game made by Bungie, which carries on the Halo series, gives us a survival mode, and gives us some maps to boot.

If you can't splash out 30 quid for a new Bungie game, then find a new hobby.

Again, it's not about not having money for it. It's about it being overpriced. In school what do you buy? Food and...? Just Food eh?

Chips = 1 dollars. Seems fair enough. But this week, they're giving a more awesome combo! They're giving chips, and left over cookies from last week! You already bought the cookies, when they barely came out, and now you want chips. But you can't get the chips unless you pay for the cookies AGAIN.

ODST is not worth $60, I waste about 100 dollars every two weeks in clothes and misc. It doesn't matter what you waste a week, it isn't worth $60.

30 British pounds = 48.99600 U.S. dollars

That's exatcly what we want!

We're paying 60 dollars, not 48...

It's simple, some people may think it's worth it, some won't. If you don't then don't buy it, there's no point in arguing over it cause the price isn't gonna change.

  • 07.05.2009 8:15 AM PDT

Well, it's worth £30 in my books, when a normal game is usually around £40.

But it's hard to compare when I use pounds and you use dollars.

And who are you to say it isn't going to change?

It changed for the british. It was 42 pounds and now its 30 pounds. I can't see why it won't change for us..

Actually it all depends on where you buy it, some shops are still selling it for more than £35.

Why exactly did the price change for the British but not for the Americans?

It doesn't make sense. If anything it should cost more than the Americans, with all the export/import tariffs.

Or maybe it was lowered in the U.K and now its going to lower here too?

Any ideas?

I dunno why it changed, but we get ripped off on so many games that it's a nice change for it to be cheaper over here. Maybe it will change in the US, maybe it won't but it probably won't get lowered by a significant amount anyway.

Amazon lowered it. Quit complaining, like I said before, you can't just tell M$ to lower the price.

look at how many games are solely campaign, 1 player only, and sell for $60 (american): want me to list a few?
BIOSHOCK
A.Creed
Mass Effect (thought this deserved to be $60)
Fallout 3.
Now: those games DID have a campaign that was longer than 5 hours, mainly because there was other things to do... get adam, collect flags, explore random planets, do side quests, etc.
and ODST will have exploration. and easter eggs. AND 4-man co-op, aw well as 4-man survival mode.
now let's think of a game similar to that: Left 4 dead. 2 things that has that ODST doesn't is random enemy spawns, and versus. and i know many people would have payed more for L4D than $60. So minus the random spawns and versus. BUT 3 new maps.
i know i can't convince people, but dangit that seems more than worth it to me.
