Apparently your reading comprehension is not all there, I didn't say that it necessarily irritates me. It's just annoying.

Sixty Dollars is nothing Lol. At least my paycheck covers that. :D *Happy* Oh Left 4 Dead is AWESOME!!! That game is the funnest game I ever played! (bought it yesterday)

I don't like Left 4 Dead. The controls are too sensitive with no auto-aim. I know, I can change the sensitivity, but games with fast as crap zombies with terrible sensitivity and no auto-aim are hard as hell.

I thought you could change the controls somewhere. It was somewhere in the manual, but... FUN!

You can change the sensitivity by going to controls in the pause menu. Even though, if it's like other Valve games, it will have vertical and horizontal sensitivity, and you can move it one bar at a time. It takes too long to get it perfect, so I don't play with it.

Okay, you're just being selfish. You purchase the maps to play them BEFORE everyone else.
Bungie should be commended for making the maps free eventually, vs only releasing the maps to those who bought them. Bungie made the fact abundantly clear that this was going to be the case. The fact that you got pissed when you paid for the Heroic maps to only have them come out free later is no one's fault but your own.

Only the Heroic map pack is free. Legendary will never be free, and I can bet Mythic won't be either. Plus, you can't play most of matchmaking because they require the maps! So technically, you have to get these maps if you want to play matchmaking and now they come out for another $40 with ODST? I don't know about you, but that's bull-blam!-!

I think Halo 3: ODST should be a lower price, but when you combine Microsoft with anything Halo.....prepare to spend! Bungie wanted ODST to be $40, but we all know Microsoft didn't let that happen. Regardless on how this game was priced, I will still get it.. Bungie creates quality products and I feel ODST will be no different.

1. ODST offers me a new campaign that looks to be quite immersive.

2. ODST offers me Halo 3's multiplayer, a good thing considering my Halo 3 disc is on its last leg.

3. FIrefight looks to be a quality addition.

4. The Halo: Reach beta could be promising.

5. Part two of the Mythic Map Pack shouldn't disappoint.

But thats just me.

Oh crap guys, all the Halo 2 maps are now free! Damn it.

I had to pay for those and everything!

Did you even bother reading anything in this thread? The maps that are being bundled with Halo 3: ODST are not free!!!

That better be sarcasm directed at more sarcasm. If not, then wow...just wow.

I would have liked a code for those maps instead of a whole multiplayer disk!

Bungie has stated numerous times that Legendary and Mythic maps will never be free on XBL Marketplace. This is, essentially, how they are going around that rule and including them on the second disc. If they were mean, they'd just have the regular multiplayer maps on there, and tell you that in order to get the new maps, you gotta go to marketplace.

Also, it's not Bungie's decision as to how their games or maps are priced, it's Microsoft's. Blame Microsoft.

Lurking like a baws. Totally. It's like totally important if I post because I barely post.

...

WHO EVEN LOOKS AT SIGNATURES ON BUNGIE.NET ANYWAY???

you know, you are being selfish, OP.

What Bungie is doing here is that they would give all the maps for the people who were not able to afford to get the maps, but no, you say this:

"No FAIRZ we had to pay and they get it for free?!"

Now, imagine yourself being one the people buying all the new maps by buying ODST.
You'll say this:

"AWESOME! GO BUNGIE!!!!!!!"

I understood his post perfectly, and my post was quite serious. He was implying with his post that we should not complain that they are making the Halo 3 maps free with Halo 3: ODST; however, the maps are NOT being made free with ODST. If you failed to understand what he was implying with his post, then "wow... just wow".

.. Hehehe

We're not Arguing (aka complaining) about them being free after we bought them. If that's what you gathered from reading this thread then I don't know what to tell you.

We're paying for something twice. The maps aren't free. MS told kotaku that they were lifting up the price to $60 because it included the maps and Halo 3's multiplayer. http://kotaku.com/5274549/

Tsk tsk I'm very disappointed.

IM A LEGIT 16

Everyone, read the -blam!- post.

The whole point is that most of us are paying for the maps twice.

How does that make any sense? It is nice to put them in as a gift, but as part of the game?
It probably is $20/$60. So we are paying $40 for 2 maps.

We're not blaming anybody. We're simply trying to show people that the game is being overpriced. The maps aren't free. (my post above should show you why I know they aren't free).

Also, I welcome any of you *new* guys (new to this thread) to read the posts in the last two pages (at least.)

I just look at ODST being worth the price, that is all. What with Firefight and all that.

You can take my posts as seriously as you want.

Bungie did state that their game has grown to more than just an expansion. They've said it multiple times. I wish I could agree, but they haven't said how much it's grown.

On a previous post I showed how hard it would be to add new content to ODST's campaign, since when Bungie suggested a price (when they said it was 35 dollars) they must have been practically finished.

This leads me to believe that in reality, ODST itself, didn't grow at all. Instead, Microsoft saw that they could charge $60 dollars for this. Bungie, knowing that their game wasn't really worth $60, tried to account for the price by adding old content. Now, I agree that they made it an spectacular bargain for those without Halo 3 or any of the map packs. However what about their fans? What about those that did buy Halo 3 and most of the map packs? Well, that's a sacrifice that MS/Bungie is apparently willing to take.

"If you want ODST pay up for what you already paid" - Microsoft

Bungie tried their best to justify for the price tag, (that's why I love em <3) but unfortunately that doesn't make any difference.

I come here not to complain at Bungie for not packing content. I come here to try and show people that they are being exploited. I would go to MS's site and argue there but I have to get support beforehand. But I realize now that Bungie.net's members and maybe even staff are too stubborn to realize this.

Please Bungie.net, you are my only hope.

No, we didn't. Why? because we didn't know the maps were going to be released later (and that we had to pay AGAIN)..

And even if we did pay for them early, why are we paying twice? Why are we paying for them this time?

  • 07.05.2009 1:35 PM PDT

I agree with the OP. However it isn't really paying for the maps and Halo 3's entire Multiplayer experience twice that gets me mad, it's the fact that my lazy ass will have to switch the disc whenever I want to switch from Campaign to Multiplayer, or vice versa. Not to mention the possibility that our forged maps from the original Halo 3 disc wont carry over to ODST Disc 2...

There's no use complaining, though. There's no hope of changing what's in the package; and even if there was a chance, it's too late now. The product hits stores in 2 months.

Alright, Im looking forward to ODST and Im sure it will be a great game. Also for newer players who dont have Halo 3; they get the Halo 3 Multiplayer disc to use, awesome right?

No, its lame. Because that disc is going to have the downloadable content that others had to pay for, I personally was pissed when I payed for the Heroic maps only to have them come out for free a few months later.

All Im saying is that if somebody who already has the maps buys the game, they should get something "extra" or a refund in ms points. Paying 10$ to get 3 maps (5months?) before other people is not worth it.

You shouldn't be pissed of about paying for the Heroic maps. I waited with buying them, and when I finally did, they came out for free a f******* week later. That Pissed me off.

Plus, they're not for free. Why do you think ODST was bumped up to 60$? Yea, beacuse you got Halo 3 maps with it.

You all know you dont have to buy it right? There is no rule that says you have to buy it. YOu dont pey for the maps twice you pay to get them early then everyone else. You pay to actually get to play them and forge on them. It is Fair. We are so lucky to even get Halo 3 ODST.

I didn't buy it because I thought I was obliged to. I bought it because I wanted to. That doesn't make any difference in charging for them twice though.

I'm not asking for the removal of anything. I'm asking for people's support.

Also, Price can change. ODST's price changed from 40 pounds to 30 pounds. It could change for americans too if there's enough support.

Well, you did misunderstand the point of the thread, talking about how the Halo 2 maps were made free.

I just wanted to point out to people in the thread what the thread is actually about, since alot of people misunderstand.

I hope people will start to understand the topic, so we can discuss this properly.

Yes, but most of Halo 3's playlists required you to have the DLC. Thus you need them if you wanted to get the most out of Halo 3's multiplayer.

  • 07.05.2009 1:43 PM PDT

i completely agree with the threadstarter.

i'm amazed at the number of people who can't seem to grasp the fact that we will be paying twice for the maps.
