Before any of you idiots post, Read This!!!! I can't wait for ODST to come out and I will play it for a long time
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now on to my point. ODST looks incredible and is almost as good as Halo CE.(Probably be better than CE when ODST comes out). But do you think that we are all getting to hyped up for this? I mean, the game looks fantastic like I said above but... if you think about it,the game will get boring eventually due to no Matchmaking. Firefight looks incredible and the Campaign looks really fun but...... it will get boring. IMO, I just think that everyone is getting too hyped up for this game. I am hyped for this game too, but I'll live through the summer. (I guess). Well... what do you guys think? Do you think that this game is getting too hyped up for or do you think it's fine? Just please don't flame because I know some of you will. Just Discuss.

IMO it's bull-blam!- that there isn't any matchmaking. It's not that I don't have friends, but not many of them play Halo 3. And those who do play, aren't online that much.

But anyways, I don't care if it's hyped up to much. That shouldn't affect the quality of the game.

Pretty much what Havok said.

Mostly everyone is getting hyped up for nothing. Bungie hasn't even started their Hype train and everyone is willing to pay more than they should for this game. Its ludicrous I tell you

Also, the bigger portion of Halo's population doesn't even read the updates/visit bungie.net So they still think that ODST will come with some sort of Matchmaking. I suggest that Bungie announces on XBL that it won't come with anything new other than Firefight (with no matchmaking), Campaign, and 3 maps. But they aren't going to that. Know why? Because it would lower their sales.

Edable - Not to be mistaken with Edible, you cannot eat me unless i am in pie form, which only happens once every 371 years

It will lack the replayability of the other Halo games yeah, but like you said, if the quality is there then the hype won't be unjustified.

How are we getting hyped up about it? Bungie hasn't done anything to advertise it, except for a pre-order bonus.

Brains beats brawn get used to it

Fear the Red Comet

Variety is the spice of life.
Long live games.
Death to all fanboys.

I don't think it's being hyped up that much at all really. A stark contrast to Halo 3 and even other games coming out now a days. No wide product placement, no ad campaigns, not even any vid docs or game developer vids (which seem to be the new standard for getting a community up to date on a lot of games). Of course it is to be expected since ODST is just an expansion packed with Halo 3's multiplayer experience. I do look forward to it for the story, but I'm not exactly counting the days here for it to come.

if you actually know what odst then its not to much hype. ODST is just an expansision just to give you something different before Reach comes out. this game is not meant for years like halo 3 and Reach its meant fore a couple of months. people are just getting excited for the new way of campaign and you are not master cheif

I know I'll enjoy it as well as all other Halo games so I don't find any problem about boredom.

We haven't really seen any gameplay and the gameplay we have seen is minimal. Bungie is trying to hype this game more than Halo 3 (not the best halo) so people can see that Halo 3: ODST is actually a game worth having for something other than multiplayer. This is sort of like Halo: CE with no actual competitive multiplayer
