Subject: The maps being bundled with Halo 3: ODST are not free!

They're not free, they're part of a $60 package.
To say that you could just subtract the cost of the maps from ODST as to what it'd cost without them is outrageous. It would have been the same either way.

I do think that the second disk altogether was something extra that they added so people could get all the maps since they're not going to release them for free eventually.

Bungie never said exact pricing first of all, and how would you know the maps would affect the price?

You make way too many assumptions.

Common sense says that even if the maps weren't included, they wouldn't have reduced the price. Hell, wouldn't by your logic, since they said it'd come with the latter half of the mythic map before all this, and that the legendary and mythic part 1 add to $15ish, mean that it would cost $45?

If that's your common sense, then I suggest you upgrade it. I hear version 2.0 is way better.

Bungie did say that it was worth 35 dollars. Secondly, I know it would affect the price because it's not an extra thing they added just because, IT'S PART OF THE PRICE

PROOF HERE CLICK ME CLICK ME!

Why would MS NOT lower the price if it came with no maps? Its common sense that if they didn't many would start complaining and then there would be some law suits (maybe.. So far you guys have shown me that the Halo 3 community doesn't stand up for anything).

45 seems fair, how about taking off Halo 3's multiplayer too. That counts for the price also according to MS (as the link above says)

I just want a single ODST disc, no Halo 3 online.

Like I say, half of you are getting your parents to buy it for you anyway, stop complaining. I personally don't care how much I need to spend, I make tons of cash, and I love Halo. I don't mind spending money on something I like. If yo don't like something, why spend money on it?

Simply:

Don't buy Halo 3: ODST if you think it's a rip-off or you don't like it. Simple, simple, simple problem.

due your wrong the mythic, legendary, and heroic are free but the mythic 2 map pack is 10 $

A word of advice: Before posting in a thread, make sure to read the other posts first.

That's not simply, that's stupidly.

I want to get the game, but I can't support Bungie/MS with the full price. I already paid for Halo 3, and map packs, don't wanna pay again in ODST.

I'll probably buy a separate ODST disc online or something, which is sad for them because they won't get my money.

I can't lick Bungie's ass like you do.

It's because of people like you that allow Microsoft to use this reasoning:

Cheap game that doesn't cost much to produce + tons of fanboys with no reasoning skills + a few people who don't own Halo 3 and the DLC = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Running a business means gaining an income that is greater than the costs of creating and mass producing a product. Guess what? Microsoft is a business!

P.S. I have lots money as well, but I also have a sense of value.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

It's actually quite good value if you dont have the map packs already.

I'm assuming you're talking to me, so:

You're getting a new Campaign, and a new mode, Firefight. To me, that's worth $60.

And honestly, it's 60 dollars. If you, or your parents, can't afford that, I think you should curl up and die. Right now.

I'm not "licking their ass" I'm simply buying something I like. Just like you probably buy soda, you like it, right? Well then you shouldn't mind spending money on it, just like I don't mind spending money on Halo. Your logic fails.

  • 07.05.2009 4:03 PM PDT

We would be basically paying for the map packs twice. That's the big turnoff.

Again, I don't care what you think about Bungie or Microsoft. I like Halo, and I have money I don't mind spending. I don't mind spending it on something I like. Don't like it? THEN DON'T -blam!- BUY IT. No one is making you buy it, so stop -blam!- complaining. Arrogant 12 year old.

I'm not 32, for one.

Secondly, like I said before, but you cannot process into your mind through your thick skull, is that a new Campaign and Firefight mode is worth 60 bucks to me. I just don't care for being one of those cheap people that try to save every penny over everything. I just have lots of money, and I really just don't care about what something is worth. If I like it, I'm going to have it. If I don't like it, I won't. Simple, ain't it? Yet you guys chose to flame me over my personal opinion. That, right there, is so stupid I can't explain it in words.

Money isn't a problem here, I just feel like I'm getting ripped off if I pay full price for that. I buy the game and get a Halo 3 online disc + maps? I have that already, it's called Halo 3.

I just want ODST, or an option to just buy ODST without the Halo 3 crap. That won't happen of course. Maybe that extra disc will make a good frisbee though, hopefully worth the price increment.

What is so stupid is that you are taking this so personal. No one is flaming you for your opinion, this is directed at Bungie/M$ for making the price the way it is. Your the one who chose to take it personal. (Which shows that you feel the need to justify your purchase.)

The universe is probably littered with the one-planet graves of cultures which made the sensible economic decision that there's no good reason to go into space--each discovered, studied, and remembered by the ones who made the irrational decision.

guarantee you in one month after its release the price falls, or the ODST campaign gets put on marketplace.

I don't take a bunch of little kids on a gaming forum personal, trust me. It's the least thing I would worry about.

And yes, you are. I say that I feel it's worth it, and you flame me saying I'm a dumb man supporting MS and Bungie. Btw, Bungie doesn't make the prices, it's Microsoft. Good job, you failed twice in one reply. How does that make you feel?
