Simple. Don't buy it. You don't have to complain to us about every little thing you hate or dislike.

Fanboy alert!

Fanboy of what? The fan club of annoyence?

But most of the people (who bought the game and the maps) are being given the short end of the deal! What was the point of making Halo 3 in the first place!? Now that ODST will be out, all Halo 3 has given us is the campain! So much money that I have waisted has just gone out the window! Why should people who say "they don't have enough to afford the maps" (even though they have an X -Box 360, X-Box LIve, Halo 3 and the controllers and mics) deserve the maps for the cost of Halo 3 without the added content!?

Sure, folks who have already bought H3 and all the maps aren't getting as good a deal as those only getting ODST. Lucky dogs. But you aren't paying for the maps again. That's two different arguments.

What do u guys mean?!? So ur saying that the game is 60$ with campaign, firefight, and regular halo 3 maps. When u buy it u will have to download all the other map packs?!?

Okay, you say they're different arguments. Why exactly are we getting a bad deal then? (there is only one reason , we're paying for something twice.)

We are NOT assuming that ODST would be priced $30 as standalone content; we KNOW that ODST is worth $30 as standalone content. How? Because Bungie confirmed it themselves that it was around $30 in one of their older weekly updates.

orly? When you throw around facts, you are expected to back those facts up with links. When you show me a link that has a Bungie employee (or MS, for that matter) that says the Halo 3: ODST campaign and Firefight experience, in its "Gold" stage, is worth $30, I will stand corrected. Until then, you're flat wrong.

What we're saying is that Campaign&Firefight is 30 (35 tops). They added the old map packs and Halo 3's multi to heighten the price to $60.

I agree. I cant stand how people can't get it through their heads. Would you rather pay $40 for an open world campaign or $30 for a single route campaign. I'd pay the $40. And Firefight is going to add $20. $40+$20=$60. The people who don't have the maps already paid the price of a two year wait.

We are getting a bad deal because we aren't getting the benefit of all this free content. They're basically getting free content. Nobody is paying for maps being included. I don't know how else to explain it unless I open up a lecture hall and explain cost recovery, fixed vs. variable costs, overhead, etc. I don't have the patience for that.

Doesn't matter what you pay. When bungie stated that they thought their game was worth 30-35 dollars, they were finished with firefight. What does this mean? It means that they thought the campaign AND firefight are worth 35 tops.

The overhead in this case actually is lower than Halo 3's because it took more man power to make Halo 3 than ODST (hence the smaller dev team). It also took less materials to make it (same engine, rehashed character models etc)

Variable cost is volume-related (and are paid per quantity). How exactly does this relate to the fact that we're paying for something twice?

Wouldn't this mean that the cost heightens depending on the quantity of the package? Well the quantity here heighten because of the addition of Halo 3 multiplayer. It is stated in the links I've provided in my past posts. You're interpreting it wrong. I, Kotaku, Joystiq, and 59 others have interpreted it correctly.

it's not like MS is going to flat out say "WE'RE ROBBING YOU". They're saying it in a way that will confuse people.

You don't get it! I have had Halo 3 from day one of it's release! I have paid more than $60! $60 for Halo 3, $10 each for the Map packs, that's a total cost of $90! MS is basically slapping people who bought all the maps (for the full price each) across the face! Others are paying less for something that we had to buy total for Halo 3! I am angered because all of the money that I have earned has been burned right in front of me by MS's greedy corporate jerks! I didn't need Halo 3 or the map packs in the first place! I could have just bought ODST! I am mad because I have paid for the Halo 3 MM Experience, now I can just buy it for the price of the original Halo 3!? WTF! All of that money that I have speent on Halo 3 was worthless!

That's why I think that the price should have stayed dropped! Most people who did buy the map packs have paid more for Halo 3 than we ever will than Halo 3: ODST! We have been ripped off SINCE THE BEGINNING! That is why I am angry!

I can't remember where they stated it, but I will link the information when I find the site. I would explain to you my own reasoning for Halo 3: ODST being worth $30 as standalone content , but The_Omen took the words right out of my mouth.

So, you're angry because somebody who waited 3 years to buy something got a better deal than you? Nothing to get angry about, it is just the way the world works. You're not paying for something twice. Breathe.

Yes I am! I am paying for a shorter campain, firefight and Halo 3 Multiplayer! I already bought the second disc, it's called Halo 3!

I'll be waiting for the link. Now, you're confusing two different principles. In your reasoning, the content is worth $30. You can justify that to any end, and I'll agree with you. But, you fail to recognize your percieved value does not equal the price set by the producer that reflects the cost of the product. If your percieved value is lower than the price set, then you just won't buy. Doesn't mean that the product is mispriced, it means the price isn't worth the value to you. That's simple economics.

Edit: For my reply to the omen's post, see the the other thread he made that comment. I don't want to be doubling my posts.

Don't buy the game. In fact there is not a single person forcing you to buy the game.

Don't buy it if you don't want to pay for it.

That's easy to say isn't it? But I do want the game. I'm sure stickmen wants the game too. I for one am buying the game. I'm not going to be happy about it, but I'm still buying it.

Now, all this "complaining", as you put it, is done to get people aware. I think that everyone should be aware of this, so they can make an educated choice on whether or not to buy the game. Like I said, I am. But I don't feel its right for people to to buy the game without knowing everything first. That's all I'm trying to do. Give awareness.

O yeah I forgot you have to make an educated choice to buy a video game.
So you're buying the game, stop complaining (or informing people).
The price isn't going to be changed and these threads aren't really useful.
I thought the ODST forum was for speculation and new findings, not complaints about a game.
