Does it matter? It will still sell like crazy. No it doesn't matter at all. I'm sure ODST won't change in price and this won't hurt it's sells. However that does not hide the fact that they are charging us for something we already have right? Not everybody has it.
And besides, you're basically paying for the opportunity to play it early. Just like in Halo 2; you knew the maps would be free eventually, you were paying for early access.
First of all, the maps and H3 multiplayer aren't free. MS said themselves here and here. If you already knew this, then my apologizes. it seems that you don't since you say " you knew the maps would be free eventually". I know this is directed to the maps in Halo 2, but it seems you're trying to imply that the maps are free. Again, sorry if you knew this already.
Secondly, isn't it better to take out the H3 Multiplayer and maps and let those that haven't gotten them to get them seperately if they wish? Isn't it better than forcing them to pay for them if they want to buy ODST? I think it is.
Here's an example:
I bought a bag of chips. That was a week ago. Now I want to buy some cookies. Well I can't unless I buy a bag of chips again. Of course, there are some that haven't bought the chips. But isn't it better for those that haven't bought the chips to buy them separately if they want to? Instead of being forced to buy the chips with the cookies? This way it would help both groups. Those that bought the chips and those that haven't. That way, everyone wins and those that haven't bought the chips have something magical called choice, instead of being forced.
And finally, I didn't buy the maps to play them early. I didn't know they were going to be charged for again in ODST. If I knew this when I bought legendary (and Halo 3 multiplayer, since they're charging for that too) I wouldn't have bought them.
