Let grunts Sleep!!!

They should put in a 4 player co-op in Halo 2. THat would be cool. But you would pretty much be undefeitable.

Xbox doesn't have the power to do that and still make the game "fun". Unless you used Xbox live or something like it.

"Help Help I'm being repressed! Come and see the Violence inherent in the system!"
"Bloody peasant!"
"Oh did you see that? you saw him repress me?"

If u did do it 4-player, u should be forced to do legendary, 3 player forced to do heroric and 2 player Normal!

I like to lurk in these forums and this is the only topic that interests me so I'll comment.

The only failing in halo 1 was the lack of online co-op. Every time Id get into the warthog I find myself wishing 3 of us could play together online against the covenant.

Everyone seems so concerned with adversarial play, which will inevitably go the route of all adversarial game types. That is, at first everyone will be equal and enjoying themselves. A few months down the road the harcore players will have mastered every goofy glitch, or dubious tatic that it will essentially force the casual guys to move on to other games.

Because I am a casual gamer who kills maybe 8 to 10 hours a month gaming, I am a huge fan of co-op game types. I am less concerend about scoring high on a meaningless ranking system than I am about being able to have a few hours of fun.

Im sure I will love Halo 2 as much as halo 1 and My pre order is in. But I admit, the lack of responce and the refusal of anyone to officially comment on co-op play has me worried that Halo 2 will fall short of the mark (for me).

Im still hoping that they see this as THE most important game type and they are keeping it under wraps to give us a huge burst of excitement when we see its included.

I hope.

To all whom it may concern, Splinter Cell 3 has been confirmed for Xbox and has online co-op. If splinty has it, why can't Halo? Just leave it at 2 players and you're set.

A-men, brother Rhett! I agree with you 100%. Four person co-op over system-link and Live would be amazing.

As for the Splinter Cell co-op, that is the only thing that has me interested in the game. Co-op mode in a game is a huge selling point for me.

I'm glad I am not alone in this. Without ONLINE (not splitscreen) co-op, Halo 2 will be just be the newest online shooter sitting next to the other 8 or 9 online shooters that will be released in 05.

If asked, 'Would you rather have it now with no online co-op or 6 to 8 months from now with online co-op included' I'd take the 6 to 8 months and play some of the other online shooters coming out this fall to bide the time. There are some good ones slated for this fall.

Its looking bleek for us online co-operative types though.
Thank goodness for the Tom Clancy games. If not for them we'd have nada.

P.S. Its not a new thing either. Quake 2 handled 4 player co-op online quite well and it wasnt even designed for it.

ive explained this before when you play in co-op a lot of special effects have to be sacrificed... just think if instead of 2.. 4 players think of how bad the gaming will be... hella laggy and so on..

xbox live maybe since its all on different screens but.. definetly not on one screen.. just best to keep it at 2 i dont see the reason for any more..

I think 4 player coop on or offline would be great. 4 players warthog launching would never get old. It would be kinda like RS3 kinda. Maybe they could add in another difficulty thats impossible alone, and just use it when you have 4 people with you. Although the difficulty level should be up to the host. But I don't really know how online coop would work without a high possibility of spoiling parts of the game. But any coop is good with me :)
