There were Banshees in all the videos of ODST. Where have you been?

  • 07.06.2009 4:29 AM PDT

J-H

I doubt you'll be able to fly either of them because...
1. Banshees are alien technology and the ODSTs wouldn't have the foggiest as how to fly one
2. Piloting a Hornet would require years of training (i imagine) so your average ODSTs wouldn't be able to fly them

Apparently Mickey was a pilot before an he was an ODST

So maybe for his flashback mission....

Yeah but a Hornet Pilot or a civiliian pilot?

well, it only said that he piloted a Pelican, i dunno about Hornets...

and i dont think there are any civilian pelicans...

Pelican Pilot? That might mean he could fly one. Oh and i didn't mean a civilian Pelican pilot, i meant like a freighter pilot etc.

ODST are a special class of marine so they do lots of training i doubt they wouldnt know how.
And that war has been going on forever so the USNC have traine the marine in some alien tech like weapons. But as the game is concerded i dont think we can fly banshee/hornets.One reason is our health, If you jump out or hi jacked (i dont know if u can get hi jacked) your dead, and those planes are hard to land so you might die trying to get out, or crashing into a wall. And how would you even get in a banshee with out hi jacking it.

  • 07.06.2009 4:46 AM PDT

Guys, we are all forgeting that this is a blam game. If there were Hornets sitting around, I don't think Bungie would say you don't know how to drive that GTFO!

I'm guessing you also think they're trained to disarm nuclear warheads and make snow angels...An ODST would be trained to the extremes in how to kill, how to drop and how to survive...They'd probably get taught how to use Mongooses and Warthogs... but a Hornet? Very very very unlikely

True, True, I guess they could say you don't know how to drive them to make it more of a challange.

Rule 6: Respect the Admins

“It’s their website, and they can do whatever the hell they like with it. You’re a guest, and hassling them about how they run things is akin to going round your Auntie’s house and curling one out in her tea-pot.”

Not true with the hornet. While in cryo stasis on slip space trips, it is not uncommon to get subconsious/subliminal training.

Ah, of course. Who knows, there could even be a flyable Pelican! Doubt it though.

The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

Are any of you guys aware that no matter what you say here, the ODSTs in Halo 3's Campaign can jump in the Hornets and fly?

Finding and honestly deep though on The Flood is like finding an angler fish in the shallows of Lake Dumbass.

Having sex with a girl on her period is like taping a knife to your -blam!- and repeatedly slamming it into a small defenseless furry land creature. But man its good right? Just make sure you soak yourself in bleach afterwards to get out the blood stains and dead half-born child off the back of your thigh.

Load up the covenant on Halo 3. I distinctly remember there being an ODST piloting the hornet next to you on that part of the mission.

GRAVITY CAT NOT AMUSED
Process initiated : Attempting to give a damn

Process stopping : Unable to give a damn, stopping

Process failed : Damn not given

Lol, yeah, maybe they will put it behind a chained fence that you can't get through like in The Pit.

In Halo : CE you didn't have the ability to hi-jack an enemy vehicle, but then you found one sitting on top of a bridge in the middle of a snowy canyon.

About the Banshee, if you look at the gameplay trailer, you'll see the Banshee in third-person mode. Either an ODST is flying it, or you can watch the enemy in third-person, or someone has some elite theater mode skills following the Banshee.

1. You were flying a Banshee in the demo videos.
2. Are you joking? ODST's are one step lower than Spartans, making them very good soldiers. They know how to fly a Hornet.

That's not an ODST...it's a specific Pilot...they look similar but are different.

To anyone who says "IT'S JUST A GAME OMG": Most people have come onto this forum to discuss Halo 3:ODST to any level of detail that they want so get over yourself.

As far as i'm aware, ODSTs aren't "one down from Spartans"...They're just very well trained Marines; they have no augmentations and don't have training in how to use "everything".

Subliminal training whilst in cryo seems quite plausible but whenever people go into Cryo in the books (that i've read: TFOR, GoO and Contact Harvest) and in cutscenes that i've seen, cryo sleep is just used to make the passage of time seem quick or to keep a person's body in a stable state (e.g. if they get shot, they get put into cryo until they get to hospital(obviously only if there isn't one on that planet or nearby whilst in space) )

In the video you saw someone flying one from the perspective as if you were flying one.
1.) Regular Marines can drive Wraiths.
2.)ODSTs fly hornets in Halo 3, and as they are the best of the best, they have had years of training.
