EDIT: Forgot to quote Khorne. -_-

Yeah I was joking with the first thing.

Well, I'm still enjoying Gears 2 horde mode. Since FF is random waves, and it utilizes multiple skulls I believe FF will at the least it will last just as long, justifying the price quite a bit.

Also, Halo 3 campaign is still taking up a lot of my time, almost more so than the multiplayer. With an open environment in ODST, I think it will last at the least just as long.

I know people are saying the Beta for Reach should be free. But meh, I wouldn't mind paying $5 for it. Recon will be available, but I don't care at all about it. So it doesn't count to the price.

I've bought all the maps so far, so I'll be getting $10 of maps. And I also get to free up space on my HDD which is actually getting really low, but that just icing on the cake, as is Johnson. I don't really care about the multiplayer disk itself.

All this is worth the $70 or so, that we Canadians have to pay. Don't try to say otherwise. Because this is my opinion.
That's why you think it's worth $60, and that's fine.

However it does not disprove the fact that we are indeed buying the maps and H3 multiplayer twice. And that is the question, after all.

First of all, this is a great point.

I can see where people are thinking that they are paying for the same thing twice, and in a sense, you are correct. Yes you are purchasing all of the maps for the game, yet this is on the second disc. Who's to say that Bungie is charging $60 for the ODST disc, and $0 for all the new maps.

This all depends on how you look at it.
An excellent point. Who's to know that ODST isn't worth $60 on its own? Nobody. It could be either way.

If only Bungie would say how long the campaign is now. They said it was 3-5 hours before, I don't see why they can't state how bigger it is now. It is weird that they haven't talked about it's size after they announced it was $60, isn't it? I think it is..

Mmmm...

Yeah, I didn't say that we weren't. I realize that we are buying most maps and the multiplayer twice. But, I can live with it.

EDIT: (Meant to quote your earlier post Omen.)

Then you don't think that we (the people who bought the maps) just waisted money on buying all the map packs and now Bungie is putting them up for the normal price of a game (which dosen't make sense), when we didn't even need to buy Halo 3 or it's DLC in the first place? It's a question of are we paying for it twice, and the answer is yes. Also, that money that I have spent could've gone to something else that I wanted. A lot of great games are coming out this fall, and that money has been wasted on something that I didn't need in the first place.

The people who didn't buy the maps (going back to legendary release) should buy it seperately like we did. They just wanted to be cheap and wait for them to go "free". They should still have to buy the maps (not including MMP 2) just like we did. They should be put in the same boat that we are. Cause we are the TRUE dedicated fans who bought the maps before ODST released them for "free" for the cheap people. Bungie punishing their true fans instead of their "so-called fans" who didn't want to give Bungie money for the maps.

I am mad because my loyalty to Bungie has gotten me nothing but having to pay for something twice.

Sadly, that's the truth of buying stuff. You take the risk of buying it, knowing it will probably go lower in price in the future, but at least you get access to it earlier.

So you're saying I bought Halo 3 to play it early? Because we're being charged for that too according to MS

Here and her- ....hell. You already saw the links.

And thirdly, I think GrnDragon meant to say that they should be given the choice to buy it separately instead of being forced to buy it. Because we're being charged for it. They're not being made free in ODST.

Really? We're paying for multiplayer again. How do you back that up that wre're not? Also, if the original maps were free, why wouldn't they be now?

Microsoft, the publishers, beg to differ.

Proof in the very first post of this thread. Which you should have read before posting...

Personally I feel we the consumer are getting a fair deal in this, Sure where paying for something we already own and the heroic map-pack which is free. But there are some things in the content that make up for this such as firefight and The reach demo. But it still seems a bit un-fair to shell out more money for content we already own. It's like buying a used car twice, But including the added bonus of the reach demo the Johnson token (for pre-orders) and firefight. It is defiantly worth the 59.99 price.

Well it might be. ODST might be worth $60 on itself (without maps H3 multi). Who's to say? Nobody. All Bungie has said is that ODST has grown into a full game. What did they mean by that? Perhaps that it is now considered a full game because it has H3 multiplayer.

I don't understand why bungie can't say how big it is now, they already did once (3-5 hours).

You know the game is going to be fun and it's $60 bucks because it's got Bungie, and HALO on it. It's like buying a pair of shoes Nike's cost $100+ but what exactly are you paying for, the name. It's simple if you enjoy the game you'll buy it, if you don't you wont. We can sit here from now till the game comes out and they're still not going to change the price. the game is going to be fun and the new maps will be fun and the old maps will be the same but still fun. So let's stop complaining put on our big boy pants and grow up.

Did you read my first post?... Seriously read it before making an idiotic spectacle of yourself.

How many times do I have to repeat this: Microsoft said that the reason it's $60 is because of the content inside ODST. What content? The maps and H3 multiplayer.

Not because it has HALO in it. Not because it's from BUNGIE. Not because ODST is now a "real boy"!!

The way to live life is decided by the individual.

Campaign and Firefight alone are worth sixty dollars to me, and with the three new maps I don't feel like I am getting ripped off at all.

G-R-A-Y-M-8-8

Pronounced, Gray Em Eighty Eight

Shivering |sles is a good example of a good expansion. 30 bucks, 30 hours of gameplay, entire new continent, new amror sets, new weapons, new quests, new NPCs, new houses. It was basically a whole new world.

Whats done, is done.

Dear The_Omen

For starters i want to say that for a question like this, there is no absolute answer for this is about personal sense of worth. Take an example ,
" I just bought a game that features something i already own, and therefore I am paying for it twice."
Whereas i think when you buy a game you are using the money to get what you desire, like when you buy a game and you don't have a internet connection you will be paying the games full price to get the single player, not for the multi player that you cannot play.

While you think that the game pays 60 dollars because it includes the maps ( which I do not say isn't true. ) you choose what you pay for in a game, Yes you cannot choose to not to buy the maps but you , in your mind choose how much you are willing to pay for a feature in a game. See someone thinks that the story alone is worth the 60$, he isn't paying for the other content but for the story, whereas somebody else thinks that the firefight and the 3 new maps are worth 60$ then he pays for them.

But when thought of materialistically, yes you are actually paying of them twice. But i think that if you think that you are willing to pay 60$ for the other content included in ODST
"your not paying for the maps twice."

Your not paying twice! You get a full length campaign, firefight, and the halo reach beta. All the other games to come out (i.e. CoD WaW etc.) have got campaign and a firefight type mode. stop complaining about the FIXED price.

I mean that the content is the game, AND the maps and H3 multi. So we're paying for Campaign, Firefight, Multi, and Maps. I have two out of four. I'm paying twice for Maps and Multi..

Piece A and B together .. Come on

First of all WAW has it's own standalone multiplayer.

ODST is repacking H3's.

Secondly, I'm not complaining about the price. I'm complaining about us paying something twice.

I thought I made it clear in my first post that we are. I can't make it more clearer.
