at first i thought that we were paying twice because certain things we get again but after thinking i realized what most people did which was that the things we already have like the maps are now just coming free with it instead of us paying for them again. its are fault for giving in to bungies cool maps and paying for them before they came "free". lol

They're not coming free.

MS said so here and here.

i know they are not coming free but its like they are coming free because the price is the same( around at least ) and that is why i emphasized it "FREE". i dont really care if it was 30 dollars or 40 anyway cause of fire fight and all the new weapons and crap. ive pre ordered it and call of duty modern warfare 2 which is another tank game

I can't believe there's 99 people that can't see how we're paying for things twice.

Then again, many probably changed their minds. I think you should make another poll.

We do realize it. We just don't care, because were getting 2 new things that kick ass anyway.
But the question is:

"Are we paying twice for something in ODST? Why or why not?"

It's not:

"Do you care if we're paying twice? Why or why not?"

You need to follow directions.
That's what I've been telling him for the longest time. Don't try.

Good job, you can't argue with my facts because they are right so you choose to fall back on your ass and simply say "u alrdy sad dat nobz1!!1one!!1".
Well didn't you?

u alrdy sad dat nobz1!!1one!!1

Prove me wrong.

See? You again chose to ignore my post. You know you're pathetic and can't come up with a good reply so you choose to act like a 5 year old and flamebait me, or whatever you want to call that crap.

How about you reply to my post, and I will then prove you wrong.
I ALREADY REPLIED TO ALL YOUR POSTS.

Please tell me what I haven't replied to.

I thought you were smart Slegger.

The post where all you did was show quotes of things I already "said", but I didn't. That one. Or, we can drop this and I can go do something else, which would be good.

Don't worry, omen. Slegger's a bhitch. This guy made a thread asking about something, and Slegger was the first to reply by saying something like "Get the -blam!- out. Why the hell would you post this again, fa ggot."

ODST retail price- $60
New Campaign- $20
Firefight and Halo: Reach beta $10
Heretic, Citadel, Longshore- $10
$60=/=$40

Why do we have to pay for the new maps again to play ODST. To play ODST we have to pay for the maps again; I rephrased it in a new way to easier understand. Couldn't Bungie have released the maps in a whole separate cartridge like they did with the Halo 2 maps? Why not? Wouldn't that be easier? You are not seeing that Bungie never foreshadowed the maps (besides Heroic Map Pack) ever being free. That is why we are complaining. We shouldn't be charged twice simply because other people haven't bought them.
Just put the maps in a separate cartridge, we say. That way, consumers who haven't bought the maps via Marketplace can see the maps right next to their brand new ODST.

Is that so hard to understand?

We are paying for something in ODST twice, I already said that... Do you read English?
But we just don't care, because we're getting two new features. Please tell me you understand that, or I will seriously lose all hope in you.

Good God Slegger, I can't see how The Omen managed to talk with you for this long. You can't figure out the simplest things.

I said I was surprised there was a large amount of people who can't comprehend something as simple as this. Specially with everything Omen has said.

You said the large amount of people was because they all didn't care, not because they didn't understand that we're being forced to buy the maps and Halo multiplayer.

I said that kind of reasoning fails epically, since that's not the question. I don't see why people would choose no if they understand that we're paying twice. You chose yes I take it. Since you say that you do understand. And after all, that's what the question is asking, is it not.

Now before you reply, read all this again. I think you can't put A with B and make C. You have to work on that to be successful in arguments. Omen appears to see this very well.

1. It's called Modern Warfare 2. Call of Duty has been taken out of the title.

2. Halo 3: ODST. Note the Halo 3 part.

3. Modern Warfare 2 is a sequel to the first game (CoD: Modern Warfare)

4. Halo 3: ODST is simply an expansion to the Halo 3 game.

5. My logic wins, your's fails.

6. You haven't played either game yet. How do you know the multiplayer maps in MW2 will be ripped off the Campaign? Idiot. Same with all the things you suddenly "assumed" will be/won't be in the game.

Calling someone an idiot for assuming something is in a game is not a little on the harsh side to you? Being an ignorant ass saying "My logic wins, your's fails," does not seem to be demeaning? You really need to learn how to talk to people. Seriously, you did not the "Do you read English?" Two new features... Halo: Reach Beta does not count. Simply put, the beta does not come out immediately with ODST. That should not account for the price, though. According to you, it does. Firefight is worth, what, $5 maybe? They didn't even include being able to play with others via Matchmaking so that detracts from the replay value. I included Firefight in my price tag, too, did I not?
I state again:
ODST retail price- $60
New Campaign- $20
Firefight and Halo: Reach beta $10
Heretic, Citadel, Longshore- $10
$60=/=$40

See, I even included Firefight into my price. So why must I pay extra for maps I already paid for? Firefight is not worth $30, neither is the campaign.

Slegger, since you already answered the question in this thread (Which you said YES to), it would be wise to stop arguing. You already agreed with us. There is no more to it. Whether or not you think it's worth buying the maps and H3 multi again is out of the question.

You agreed, there's nothing more to it.

I have said many times in my posts, that I understand we're paying for the maps and H3's Multiplayer twice. He said "why or why not?" I gave my reason: "Because those who do realize we are, simply don't care. Those who don't probably wouldn't care either, because they still want the Campaign and Firefight experience. Okay. Get it?

Calling someone and "idiot" and saying "my logic wins, yours fails" isn't the same as what you said I did. The only reason I did that to him is because he made multiple errors in his post (which I corrected in mine). And how is it on the harsh side? You are a hypocrite beyond belief. You said in your post:

Don't worry, omen. Slegger's a bhitch. This guy made a thread asking about something, and Slegger was the first to reply by saying something like "Get the -blam!- out. Why the hell would you post this again, fa ggot."

You flamed me like an angry child that didn't get enough presents on Christmas. And you're saying calling someone an idiot is harsh? Biggest hypocritical move I've ever seen.

Your last segment of the post is completely senseless. When you say "Firefight is worth $5" that's YOUR own opinion of the value of that aspect. You do NOT know how much time, work or money they put into it. And really, who cares if it doesn't have matchmaking? I'd rather play with my friends then a bunch of random 12 year olds who act like G-unit. And if you don't have any friends, post on the forums for people to help you (assuming you're getting the game, which I know you are)

And again, you people are so stupid with you're "here's how much ODST is!"

You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT assume things are worth "this and that" when all you've seen is a small little demo that goes no where near their full potential.

And if you argue with me over that fact, I will probably just laugh at you for being so arrogant, but I know you will anyway.

I live on that one house, on that one street you know?

Personally I think the halo franchise is done with after Halo 3's ending. I'm not going to spoil it for those who didn't watch the ending. (The one came after the end credits.)

  • 07.08.2009 5:26 AM PDT

Yeah, we are probably paying for something twice. But whatever. It's $60 for something that will keep me entertained for a longer time than most games.

  • 07.08.2009 6:11 AM PDT

I originally voted no on the poll before reading through the thread, since I was thinking more of how I valued the game instead of how it was priced, but after looking at the evidence of Microsoft's pricing method, it definitely seems like the people who bought H3 + any DLC are paying twice. I'm still curious about the previous $35 estimate, though. I never saw it, and I'm wondering if you ever found that info, omen.

And Slegger, if you've already voiced your opinion about the topic of the thread, then why continue posting arguments here? If you have further arguments about the price of the game that are not related to the whether or not we are paying twice, then why not start a new thread? Posting off-topic is bad forum etiquette.

Yes. Which is why I'm only renting this game. I can complete the campagin in a couple hours with 4 player co-op legendary. I can tell Firefight is going to old fast, just like Horde mode did. I can wait for a couple weeks to get the 3 new maps on the marketplace.

Is the game worth $60? Hell no!
Is the game worth a one week rental only costing $10, and can be completed in a couple days? Hell yes!

I just thought I'd point out how extremely ironic this post is.

Also, yes, obviously some people are paying for the same thing twice. There's no question to be asked. Some people have already bought the map packs, and they will be forced to again pay for the maps packs if they buy ODST. Also, the multiplayer is exactly the same as Halo's (excluding Firefight), so there's nothing new there either.

Really, the only things that I can see that are new are 3 new maps, a new campaign, and a new game mode (with new maps). Worth $60 (or $100 in my country)? Not in my books.

Well according to the topic's post, we're arguing whether or not we're buying it twice. (Yes I am aware it says Why you think we're not. And your reason is, according to your post to Complex Deity, "I don't care". You already answered why or why not. I can't argue with you on why "you don't care". I can't make you care.)

You said yes. I said yes. We agree. There's no more arguing to be done. If you want to argue about something else make a thread accordingly.

Here it is:

From Sleggar (I couldn't quote it the normal way because it has reached it's limit. I also put your insults in bold):

I seriously lol'd at how stupid you sounded . Anyway...

Are you -blam!- blind? I said they put enough content in it for it to warrant the $60 price tag and to make it a full game. It has:

A new Campaign
A new Co-op mode, Firefight
Halo: Reach Beta
All the maps ever made on Halo 3
3 new maps
Halo 3's Multiplayer and Forge.

That's more than Gears of War 2 had. That's more than Halo 3 had. That's more than Call of Duty: WaW had. That's more than most games now-a-days have. So don't you dare say it's just an expansion, you arrogant little child.

Who said I want any game to be $60? If I could lower the price, I probably would. But I can't, can I? No. Stop assuming things and being a moron .

It has more than a Campaign, dumbass . Read the list above.

Did everyone go retarded when I went to eat dinner? Honestly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You basically insulted me and everyone who disagrees with you. It's kinda sad how you have to call people names and call people stupid because they don't share your viewpoint. Cause your immaturity isn't going to help your side of the argument. You need to learn to not flame people when they disagree with you. It's just sad how whiney you have gotten.
