You idea behind ODST being a Scam holds NO precedence. A game is priced on TOTAL CONTENT. It is NOT priced on TOTAL NEW CONTENT.

so by your logic the orange box should have been 120$ bcuz it included half life 2

but no it was thrown in as a bonus..they did not charge extra and hold the people that had already purchased HL2 hostage

How about a suggestion? Get a job, earn some money. Life is not fair. Get used to it. The whole "ODST is a scam!" argument has to go. The game is priced based on content and the fact there's a whole other disc now that has to be fabricated and coded, which adds a ridiculous amount to production costs. IF you don't like the price, DON'T BUY IT!

the fanboys are ridiculous on this site

wheres the line where you will take your hands off your ankles?

what would htey have to do?

>:( Anngggrrrryyyyy...Faaccceeee!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I just like being right.

Gotta love how that jumped from sane human being to fanboy in less time then it took me to post that comment. It's not fanboyism, sorry. It's called rationalization. If you want a 30$ game, then YOU can pay for all the extra costs associated with having two discs instead of one. I'm sure Bungie would be happy to accept the money. If you've nothing to solve the problem, what is the use complaining about it?

OK, lemme break it down like this:

DISC 1:

Campaign Mode
Firefight

DISC 2:

Matchmaking
Extra Maps
Reach Beta

In fact there WOULD be two discs, even IF you paid for all the map packs the amount of content makes it a very small margin. Like I said before, get a job, earn some money, and if you still think it's a scam, heck, don't buy it. Capitalism for the win.

The game is 60$. The maps are a bonus. No one is forcing you to do anything. Quit whining, seriously.

the game was 30-40$

the maps are not a bonus

at E3 MS stated this

Well they did say that it transformed into a full retail game.

That's Microsoft's cheap marketing for you... They know people will defend such a ridiculous price, and they know people will buy. Halo fanboys are the strongest...

wow, you created a profile name "ODST is a SCAM" just to complain about something you don't have to buy. Also its not a scam, MS could price it at 100 dollars and people would still buy it. If you can't afford it then you need to get a job.

Right, $60 dollars is so ridiculous. I don't know how I'll ever afford that.

Get a life.

See what I mean?

How do you guys defend it? We are repaying for things we already own! How would you feel if a car company made you repay for the car you bought 2 years ago? I'm not the one who should be getting a life, if I know the actual meaning of money.

The only thing we are going to "re-buy" is the DLC maps and the H3 multiplayer. That's it. You and all your buddies are making it sound like you already bought Halo 3: ODST.

Seriously man, if you don't like the price, DON'T -blam!- BUY IT. No one is pointing a gun at your head saying "Buy it!"

You do need a life, if you can't chose to buy it or not, instead you need to argue and complain which is never going to change anything.

You idea behind ODST being a Scam holds NO precedence. A game is priced on TOTAL CONTENT. It is NOT priced on TOTAL NEW CONTENT. so let's add it all together. Starting with Halo 3.

Halo 3 Features:

Halo 3 Campaign (roughly 5-6 hours)
Halo 3 Multiplayer
Forge
Theater (And all features.)
= 60$

DLC Features :

Heroic Map Pack
Legendary Map Pack
Mythic Map Pack
= 30$

Combined = $90

Now ODST:

ODST Campaign (Again, roughly 5-6 hours)
Firefight
ODST Theater (and ALL features)
Halo Reach Beta Invitation
Halo 3 Multiplayer
Forge
Halo 3 Theater (and ALL features)
Heroic Map Pack
Legendary Map Pack
Mythic Map Pack
Mythic Map Pack 2

= $60

WOW. ODST has ALL THAT STUFF and is CHEAPER than Halo 3 + the DLC? You are getting a DEAL on this. (considering in all honesty it SHOULD cost around $120, I am appraising the Reach Beta as $30)

QFT, this man is correct

This is for pure Lolz

Seriously we need to stop trying to kill each other. You decide if you want to it or not and not complain on the forums. Which is bumping down the good topics... :(

Here we go again, another typical answer...

Here's the problem: I want to play as an ODST, I want to play firefight. But because Microsoft is the greediest bunch of bastards in marketing, I'm forced to buy things I already own in order to play as ODST and play firefight.

The DLC and the H3 multiplayer is a whole disk! That means I already payed for half of that disk! (I am not including Heroic) Legendary and Mythic will never be free and you can't get into most of matchmaking because it requires them. So bungie is pretty much forcing you to get these maps if you want to play matchmaking. So now you have to pay for them AGAIN if you want ODST. If they give the people who got the maps already a refund or something, then I wouldn't be complaining right now.
