For any of you who understand the time-value of money concept, please skip this post as you will learn nothing new. All others, read on to be enlightened...

Of all the crap I have heard on these forums, the whining of people who won't shell out the cash for ODST has got to be the worst. Take the time it took you to post all that crap and whine about it to your friends and go get a job making minimum wage, which was just recently raised to $7.25 and work for that extra cash instead of whining about the cost. You could have paid for the extra cost by now. If you aren't willing to fork out the cash, or get off your butt and do some work to fund your hobby, then DON'T BUY THE GAME!!! Quit ragging Bungie for being intelligent and actually trying to make a profit. No one is forcing you to buy the game, so grow up and admit you really want the game and pay for it!

If you are too young to have a regular job, get a summer job, or do somebody's yard work...I promise you it will feel so much better when you don't have to whine about Bungie not caring about your low budget for games, and can simply go buy what you want. If you are too young to do either of these, then you don't even need to be playing this game to begin with, and if your parents allow you to, then they are buying it for you anyway, so what's the big deal?

Last note...if Bungie shows up at your door and forces you at gun-point to buy their game at 60 bucks, then you can start complaining...until then, either shut up, or pay the freakin $60.

I can't speak for everybody else, but for me, it's the principle of charging customers for content they've already payed for that I have issue with. I can afford it, but I don't feel I should have to spend that extra $20 in order to play the original, ODST content. That money could be sent to Children in Need or another worthwhile organisation.

Actually it's $70 without tax. (well, from where I live) :D and so..well about 20$ I already paid. I still believe the campain, firefight, Reach beta and the 3 new maps worth the price by themselves, but...I don't really appreciate that I will somehow buy a second time the same content. Even if in ODST the old maps may have been prices to only 5$, it's still money.

IE: You have a television worth 2000$ and you have to buy the same television for 100$ and they give you a computer of 1 900$. People just don't like paying twice for what they have. The problem is not the price, it's the ethics.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

I think it's more like this:
odst campaign; $20 remember they made the campaign longer
firefight: $10
wat do u mean by gameplay?

Halo 3 except the campaign: $15
mappacks: $25 (ledgendary mythic and mythic part 2)
reach beta: $5
is $75
so we are getting a discount.

This is exactly what I've been saying on all the other threads. But you know, they won't stop, they'll just flame you, and continue saying "I don't want to pay for something I already have!"

I can't speak for everybody else, but for me, it's the principle of charging customers for content they've already payed for that I have issue with. I can afford it, but I don't feel I should have to spend that extra $20 in order to play the original, ODST content.

First off, this is not an issue of you paying for something you have already bought...it's an issue of a company creating a product for its customers to consume. The company can put whatever price on it they want, and then the customer can either consume it or not. I can guarantee you Bungie and/or Microsoft could care less what is said about ODST's price, they only care about whether it sells. If it sells at $60, then they will leave it there...if not, then they'll quickly drop the price. Still think they are just trying to rip you off? THEN DON"T BUY IT!!! That will get their attention quicker than anything.

That money could be sent to Children in Need or another worthwhile organisation.

This is the most sensationalist argument I have ever heard...if that's what this is really about, then we should all sell our xbox's and all our games and our cars, houses, and everything but one set of clothes until every child in the whole world can have what we have...the 20 extra bucks for what you think you have already paid for (as I have already said above) is pointless, and is simply the asking price of the company. They are saying "take it or leave it". If you think it's more economical to spend your 20 "already paid for" dollars on something else, then the cost of that is not being able to play ODST until the price drops...

Again, as I said in my original post, GROW UP!

Okay, so, forcing Bungie to do something it doesn't want to do is ethical? Wow...wierd system for an economy...we can force Bungie to do something it doesn't want to...

They're not making you buy it...you can buy it or not...deal with it! They're not sneaking one over on you, so get over it!

I was exaggerating. My point is simple. Yes, most people can earn the extra $20 no problem. But that money could be spent on other things. For me, content I already own has been factored into the price tag, meaning if I want the game I am forced to buy that content again. I'm not saying this was a poor financial call, but I find it to be wrong, in principle.

I just pointed out that the problem with people is not money, is that they don't want to buy something a second time.

U get it all wrong, stop flaming and calm down.

I direct you to my own quote locate below. If you read correctly, you know that I'm not complaining, only giving facts and that I'm pretty happy for the price of ODST.

OMGZ, YOU HAS TO PAY AN EXTRA 20 DOLLARS, WHA WILL YOU EVA D0?21?W1

Get real. It's 20 extra dollars. I can make that in one minute if I want to. Get over yourself, stop complaining and get a life.

*Waits for inevitable flaming because they know I'm right*

WTF? Would you take 20$ and throw it in the garbage? Get a knowledge of what money really is.

That's also not the problem. What if I want to play as an ODST? I'm forced to pay extra for stuff I already own?

That's like getting admission to somewhere by ordering online, then when you get there, you pay parking, and they tell you you have to repay admission. But the people who were stupid and didn't pay online, only have to pay admission once.

Also, it's aimed at those who don't have the map packs, and they're on the disc so quicker loading and more hard drive space. Don't forget the Reach Beta and theatre modes.

yes you are right but we already paid for the second disk already

I agree, and would like to quote myself, if I may:

I'd just like to say that today, I went down to EB and laid down 20 bucks for my ODST preorder, and I fully intend to pay the rest come September 22nd. I totally agree with what your saying, and really, people shouldn't complain about the price hike when in terms of campaign we don't know what to expect, and honestly, Firefight looks amazing. Put it this way: Gears of War 2, which had plenty of features and was full priced, came with Campaign, Co-Op, Horde (read: Firefight) and online. ODST comes with Campaign, Co-Op, Firefight, Theatre and much better online, including three new maps (Oh, and maybe Forge in some measure) Honestly, ODST is worth more than full price.

Bloody Whiners

So yeah.

Well, it's not a matter of affordability, it's a matter of principle. I don't feel comfortable paying for things I already own. And before you say it, I will not buy the game.
