First off I want you take a close look at the Halo Reach trailer. Than take a look at the Halo 3 Legendary ending. Do you see a close resemblance between the two?
I honestly think making a Halo game off of a book isn't good business you know why?
Since most people already read the Halo: Fall of Reach paperback than the point of making the Halo Reach campaign would be basically a re run. As far as I know Bungie loves to surprise you so and the idea to them would probably wouldn't be original. Look at the 2 words that can be read on the Halo: Reach site. Falls 2010. Master Chief is kinda ummmmm falling.
The point to making the game based off of the novel is simple, fan service. People have been asking for this story to be told in other media for years, if you don't believe me feel free to dig up old threads over on the Halo CE forum, believe me, I was there. I also want to point out to you that the planets look nothing alike, both their characteristics and their surroundings.
Here's the other side of the story. Take a close look at Halo: Reach trailer. You see the Covenant ships in process of "glassing" an unknown planet (obviously Reach) and some guys yelling about Spartans. Whether this is a flashback or the real deal I don't know.
I don't know what trailer you watched, but in the trailer i've seen there are no Covenant ships, and no one is yelling about Spartans. There is mention of unknown slipspace ruptures, two instances of Spartans talking, and planetside explosions. Please get your stuff straight before spinning something that has been posted about to death here.
