Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Teleporters in the multiplayer mode is nothing new, we've had them since the first game and they havent changed at all. Sure, in Halo CE you could only enter it from one direction, but they have always been quite simple, you enter one, and come out from another.
However, they have much more potential. First of all, how about allowing objects and vehicles through?

Here are some types of teleporters I came up with earlier:

The black hole - If you stand close enough, you'll slowly get sucked in, and spat out from another black hole. The faster you enter, the faster you exit.

The Portal - Its basicly a portal... One that you can see through to the other side. Similar to the ones in the game Portal.

Thoughts, and ideas for new teleporters are most welcome.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Actually the teleporters have changed... in 1 and 2, you could back into one, and you came out of the other end backing up. In Halo 3, if you back into one, you are always turned around so you're walking out forwards, throwing off your perception. This mistake should be fixed for REACH (itsm uch easier to tele-camp in H3), and I would like telefragging to return.

I like your portal idea; you should be able to shoot and throw grenades through it (but not a regular teleporter or black hole).

Maybe the black hole could be partially random, and not stable, and part of the environment (click a panel and it will generate the black hole for about 10 seconds, then it will collapse).

Here's my advice to you son, its a life lesson you shan't forget.

Some people are like Slinkies. They aren't good for anything in particular, but it still makes you smile when you push them down the stairs

..Blackhole equipment would be Cool...

....Throw it down and a Blackhole sucks everything up and spits it out somewhere random..

Bringing you lame jokes, social awkwardness and the occasional good idea since 2008

Telefragging would be nice, gets rid of those annoying people who block teles.

@ MLG Cheehwawa

I really liked your idea about activating the black hole. If timed correctly one could even use it to ones advantage, sending an enemy swirling into it, or launching a warthog on someone.
It almost goes hand in hand with another thread I thought of making, one about "the Guardians" having a bigger role in the game. Allowing the player to use the enviroment/parts of the level as a weapon, but not as a way of getting a direct kill, that would be boring. No "one hit kill spikes".

..Yeah it sounds quite good..so say if you found a Parked Forklift or Car, if you where to press RB on it, the Vehicle would drive forwards until it either A-Hits a wall and Explodes or B-Drives off a Hill/Wall and Explodes
