Subject: Health packs, SHould Bungie bring them back?

7even is Darker

Maybe not for MP, but I'd prefer it for single player.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

Only if they put visible health back in as well.

no don't bring back health packs because then you will plan your game on the knowledge that you will be able to get back all your health if only you get past so and so or around this corner or whatever....it makes it too planned out because you are just playing to get from one health pack to another....while in games without health packs you are more versatile and cautious because the game play is more random like a battle field would be...

For the campaign: yes. Multiplayer; not so much.

Hmmm I kinda like that idea but it would change the gameplay too much I think from SP to MP. I'm not sure I think health packs would fit into the story better because this takes place before Halo.

The health/shield system in Halo: CE was perfect. Too many games use the shield system now and its making them way too easy.

Don't get cocky now!

They pretty much only need to show the health bar, but make it a bar like the shield one(not blocks like in halo CE).. Remember with Halo 3 you do have a numeric value for health, and the shields has a numeric value. I remember them talking about it in a weekly update. Pretty much, once your shields start to recharge you will start to regain your health every second. (its hidden ,but I think they said there's 40 hp, and around 70 points of shield.

I couldn't agree more with something similar to this. Since at the time Reach occured, the Spartans shields were a bit lacking in recharging capabilities (Halo 1 shields), thus making them more human while at the same time a super-soldier. An idea for when the biofoam runs out, your character could move slower due to the injuries sustained from combat?

Honestly, I'd say bring back health packs in Campaign and Multiplayer The explanation for the lack of a health bar in H2 and H3 is that the suit injects something (Morphine? I forget what exactly) into them, but the Spartans on Reach had Mk-5's, so logically they should have health bars. And the health system makes sense, considering they actually are human.
Uhhhh. Multi-player is not canon. Health packs was taken out because it was unbalanced, not because it followed canon. Bungie made the canon to go along with what they felt was needed in multi-player.

Health and health packs are too hard to balance.

How the -blam!- are they imbalanced?

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Yes. Have those to instantly heal body damage.

Health packs have always been here, you just don't see the actual image. When you are one shot, sometimes it takes a few hits to kill you. that is your health packs going away.

What everyone needs to remember is that this game takes place before Halo: CE, and the Spartan's shields were not quite as good as in Halo 3.
Logically providing, Health Packs may see a comeback, but I doubt it.
